My father died of lung cancer recently. He was a heavy smoker (3 packs a day) but quit more than 15 years before his passing.
Doctors suspect he had smokers disease too.
A recent study conducted among more than 7,000 Malaysian adult smokers by leading cardiologist and harm-reduction researcher, Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos, has shown that a large majority of those who have switched to using e-cigarettes instead of smoking (including both those who have quit altogether and those vaping to reduce their cigarette consumption) have reported improvements in their general health (82.6%).
My husband was a heavy smoker for over 20 years till he was introduced to vaping. He eventually quit smoking and subsequently, vaping, a year later.
It’s been 4 years since @joelebosi’s last cigarette and 3 years since he started vaping.
I agree that kids should not be vaping, just as they are not allowed to do numerous other things that society as a whole regards as a lifestyle choice for grown-ups to make and though I do not vape, I do believe that everyone has the right to a less harmful alternative to smoking.

I urge smokers to quit before it is too late. Vaping helped my husband quit cigarettes completely.
