George S. Patton Slapping Incidents
二戰期間，美國陸軍 喬治巴頓中將帶領九萬名美軍官兵於1943年7月10日成功登陸西西里島；在這段期間，脾氣暴躁出了名的巴頓將軍，對「戰鬥疲勞」的士兵摑巴掌，引發美國國內關注。巴頓將軍也因此被冷凍（不解職），直到1944年才重回歐洲戰場。

二戰後，法國和越南爆發法越戰爭，越南也因《日內瓦協定》分裂為南北越；1963年，南越總統吳廷琰被殺，隨後美國開始逐步介入越南戰爭，並在1964年7月底，和北越海軍在北部灣（或稱東京灣）發生激烈衝突；美國也自此事後，開始對越戰全面升級。

在1950年代因演出多部福斯影業旗下多部作品的瑪麗蓮夢露，因美艷性感的形象，成為當紅媒體關注的焦點巨星。36歲的馬驪連夢露正值演藝試驗巔峰之際，私生活混亂染上毒癮，於1962年8月5日陳屍於洛杉磯自宅，死因為用藥過量的意外，留下不少疑點。

1945年8月6日凌晨，美軍一架B-29轟炸機 諾拉蓋伊號從天寧島與其他五架飛機出發一同飛往廣島市；它在上午約8點15分投下「小男孩」原子彈，於島醫院上空550公尺處爆炸，造成十萬名廣島居民死亡，是人類史上第一次在戰爭中使用核子武器。

亞眠戰役又稱「百日攻勢」，是第一次世界大戰末期由協約國發動的攻勢；這場攻勢成功將德軍逐出法國，使之退守至興登堡防線。攻勢持續大約三個月後，同盟國被迫投降。協約與同盟國雙方在法國的貢比涅森林簽屬《康邊停戰協定》，宣告一戰結束。

▶ 1945-AUG. 09 #長崎原爆 / 《#金鋼狼武士之戰》The Wolverine
NAGASAKI
1945年8月9日凌晨，一架美軍B-29轟炸機 博克斯卡號，從天寧島起飛後，於上午11點02分在長崎市上空投下「胖子」原子彈，造成15萬人死亡，爆炸威力是「小男孩」原子彈的1.5倍。值得一提的是，美軍原定轟炸小倉市，但因天候不佳才臨時改往長崎。

Asian superstar Jay Chou has been instrumental in the rise of Taiwanese band Nan Quan Mama, seeing something special in Devon Song, the only remaining member from the original line up and the man who is the soul of the band. Devon has won the hearts of millions of fans across the world, thrilling tens of thousands of Chinese admirers at the band’s recent shows. Nan Quan Mama touched down for the Australian leg of their tour in mid-april and Devon sat down with VISION for a chat about his latest passion: diving.黃金海岸海洋公園的門口，滴水的潛水蛙鞋插在肩上的背包裡， 剛剛潛完水的彈頭面露倦容，但仍以爽朗的笑感謝VISION雜誌的邀約。彈頭稱自己喜愛潛水，在拿到全球認可的潛水教練執照之前曾用掉了1500支氣瓶，到過帛琉、東帝汶等25個國家。
彈頭是臺灣藝人團體《南拳媽媽》的靈魂人物，該團體4月底在中國開完演唱會，讓數萬粉絲如癡如醉。亞洲巨星周杰倫對這個團體提攜有加，四月中來澳開演唱會時，彈頭被邀成為嘉賓。
VISION雜誌與周董在黃金海岸的交集，令熱愛大海的彈頭也成為本期的座上賓。
Devon Song met us at the entrance of Sea World on the Gold Coast, a pair of diving fins poking out of his backpack and his wet hair a clue to what he’d just been up to. Having just finished a dive, he was tired but still happy to do the interview. With a broad smile, he told us that he loves diving, visiting over 25 countries and going through 1,500 tanks of air in pursuit of his globally recognised diving instructor licence.
“I grew up by the seaside. As a child, I would go with my mum and auntie to catch fish and sell it at the market. I was captivated by the rich ocean life and I always knew it was something I wanted to explore.” As the sun set, Devon gestured at the water and said, “Once this crazy career exploded, the sea became my refuge and the only place where I could find peace.”
Many years of spending time among the mysteries of the oceans have given Devon a different perspective on life. “Over the past two years, I have been inspired by some amazing teachers. They’ve taken me to places where I’ve seen some incredible sights, such as the mass spawning aggregation of bump headed parrotfish and red snapper in Palau and the breathtaking biodiversity of the Komodo Islands. The highlight was swimming with the sand tiger shark, unique to the Ogasawara Islands near Tokyo. It’s a humbling experience when you understand how small and insignificant humans are in comparison to the majesty and vastness of the oceans.”
「我從小在海邊長大，時常跟著母親和阿姨到海中抓海鮮到市場變賣，那時，我認為海洋無邊無際的遼闊映射著生命無常，很值得探索」，夕陽西下，彈頭指著金燦斑斕的海平面，說道，「進入音樂圈之後，大海成了我沉澱心靈唯一的去處」。
多年的潛水，體驗了海洋的奧祕，彈頭對人生有著不同的見解，「近兩年，我認識了好幾位老師，跟著他們，我親眼見到了許多驚人的海洋生物，例如帛琉世界三大魚種紅鯛、海鯛、隆頭鸚哥的交配，科摩多群島的生物多樣性，日本東京小笠原群島的獨特鯊魚種類--- 沙虎鯊等。與壯闊的海洋相比人類是多麼渺小啊！」雖然身為藝人，彈頭相當謙遜，再三提起在潛水生涯中與多為老師結緣，在多位老師的帶領下，有了人生中許多寶貴的經驗，「希望有一天，我會跟著這些攝影老師一起拍一部富有教育性兼具娛樂性的電影」。
These experiences have kept Devon grounded and humble - he is always willing to learn more and is open to being taught by those with more experience of this amazing world. He once braved swimming with a giant hammerhead sharks to get some film for a movie and Devon wants to expand on this experience, saying, “I hope to one day follow these underwater photographers that I’ve worked with and to make an entertaining documentary about this beautiful world.”
Devon loves the diving opportunities that Australia has to offer. “Australia’s deep ocean is so beautiful! I’ve been diving all over the world and I’ve seen many beautiful places, but Australia is unique.” Let’s hope this love of our oceans means many more visits from this humble, soulful music star.

繼 2018 年金音獎入圍的《炮打司令部》後，中文嘻哈界絕無僅有的共產主義饒舌歌手鍾翔宇與英國製作人 Ransom-Notes 馬不停蹄地聯手炮製出六首歌的新專輯《星星之火》，相較於上張專輯還有如〈保力達B〉、〈偶像的手冊〉等比較詼諧幽默的歌曲，這張專輯顯得更加嚴肅而深入的闡述自己的意識形態。
即使如此，這張專輯並沒有流於自我重複的說教，而是透過自己在美國成長過程親眼目睹的（台灣媒體跟好萊塢電影不告訴你的）具體事實，鍾翔宇戳破所謂的「美國夢」，一層一層爬梳嘻哈音樂如何失去最初的反抗精神、分析爭取勞動權益的困境甚至環保議題。很難想像這麼龐大的知識量被鍾翔宇精巧的放在一張不到 20 分鐘的專輯當中，這樣大膽的嘗試絕對值得你靜下心搭配歌詞細細玩味。搭配 Ransom-Notes 充滿黃金年代風格的編曲，讓嚴肅的歌詞不再難以下嚥。而鍾翔宇精心設計的多韻和不時的好笑 punchline，也展現他想讓歌曲直面普羅大眾的誠意。
批判美國的霸權和當今的社會經濟制度等於動搖了非常多人的基本信念，鍾翔宇也深知這一點。然而看到不公不義的事實而站出來發聲，這是讓鍾翔宇之所以愛上嘻哈的浪漫初衷。《星星之火》這張專輯就如同他的偶像，英國嘻哈詩人 Lowkey 的 “Soundtrack to the Struggle” 一樣，是貨真價實的革命之聲，所有真心想衝破世界當今所面對的困境的人，肯定能從鍾翔宇的音樂中得到啟發。
Shortly after his 2018 album "Bombard the Headquarters" was nominated best hip hop album by the Golden Indie Music Awards, Xiangyu, one of the few openly communist rappers in the Sinosphere, together with his comrade Ransom-Notes from the UK, began working on "a Single Spark." In comparison to his previous album, which contains comedic songs like "Paolyta B" and "the Idol's Handbook," "a Single Spark" takes on a more serious tone and delves deeper into Xiangyu's ideology.
Despite the comparatively somber tone, this new album avoids repetitive preaching. Through sharing his personal experiences and the things he saw growing up in the United States, Xiangyu debunks the so-called "American Dream." Using materialist dialectics, he tells us how hip hop has lost its rebellious essence, and also analyzes power dynamics and touches on topics such as the environment. It is difficult to imagine how Xiangyu and Ransom-Notes were able to condense such a vast expanse of knowledge into an album less than 20 minutes in length. You will not be disappointed should you decide to sit down and listen to such a bold album while studying the lyrics. Reminiscent of hip hop's golden age, Ransom-Notes' beatmaking provides the listener with the sugar that makes the pill easier to swallow. Xiangyu's carefully constructed rhymes and the occasional humorous punch line demonstrate his sincere attempt to make his agitprop more accessible to the layperson.
Criticizing US hegemony and the socioeconomic order of today is tantamount to shattering the fundamental beliefs of many, and Xiangyu is acutely aware of this. The fact that hip hop can serve as a platform for pointing out injustices is what attracted Xiangyu to the genre in the first place. "A Single Spark" is similar to "Soundtrack to the Struggle" by Lowkey, one of Xiangyu's influences, in the sense that it is truly revolutionary in content. Those who genuinely seek to transform the predicaments plaguing our world today will certainly find inspiration in Xiangyu's music.

《評論》在Hans Zimmer前幾年一連串換湯不換藥的動作片配樂下來，
許多人開始厭煩他一再重覆的編制及旋律，但98年的兩部作
品：The Thin Red Line和The Prince Of Egypt卻讓Zimmer
的創造力與變化令人再度為之驚喜。
98年中兩部戰爭大作Saving Private Ryan和The Thin Red
Line不約而同都讓配樂者收起以往光芒四射的風格，改以沈
重內斂的風貌出現。The Thin Red Line電影一再強調戰爭
的無奈與殘酷，整部配樂的風格與編制也配合著電影的影像
，從厚重的弦樂鋪排到音色淒涼的Cosmic Beam，讓人腦中
一再出現戰場橫屍遍野的景況。在和電影的配合上來說，
The Thin Red Line入圍Oscar絕對是名符其實。
而從單獨欣賞的角度來說，本配樂的可聽性雖不如電影中來
的出色，但許多段落卻令人意外地自成一格。首先，The
Thin Red Line的主題旋律是一個以弦樂為主的旋律，這個
三拍的主題在配樂中令人印象最深的演奏是在第七首Stone
in my Heart及第八首The Village中出現，對於一個戰爭電
影的配樂來說，這個主題算是比較特別的，淡淡的哀愁給人
心靈一種很寧靜的感覺。另外一個較明顯的旋律是在第三首
Journey to the Line及第八首The Village後段出現，這個
旋律隨著後段的漸強，與電影中悲慘的映像搭配效果極佳，
單獨聆聽其情緒的煽動性仍然令人難以抗拒。
整部配樂除了上述兩個主題旋律外，第二首The Lagoon後段
有一個非常優美的主題，我個人十分喜歡；第四首Light也
算是較有可聽性的曲目(優美的豎琴和悲傷的弦樂搭配十分
出色)；第十首則是Zimmer創作的土著吟唱式的歌曲，不過
整首歌只有兩句一直重覆，有點繁複。其餘的配樂，很可惜
地，大部分都為管造氣氛之用，缺乏旋律及節奏性，可聽性
較差，而第四首Beam和第十一首Sit Back and Relax，雖有
特殊樂器Cosmic Beam的加入，聽來仍然不是那麼容易上耳
。
The Thin Red Line是一部很值得一聽的原聲帶，極為平靜
的旋律與編制也可以讓不大喜歡動作片配樂的人重新認識
Hans Zimmer的才華，另外本片的錄音頗為出色，低音部分
與層次感分明。不過本片沈重的樂風和不少缺乏旋律性的
曲目算是The Thin Red Line較明顯的缺點，也可能嚇跑不
少聽慣Zimmer動作片配樂的人，如果把長度剪短一點，我
相信它會是一張很棒的原聲帶。(不過要真的出的是短的版
本，我八成又會覺得應該出加長版..)

《購買資訊》The Thin Red Line台灣由BMG唱片公司代理發行，初
版為原裝進口的版本，目前可見應該都是台製的。三
月時唱片公司又發行了一張名為Chants of the Thin
Red Line的唱片，收錄的都是土著民族合唱歌曲，台
灣也有代理。
