I remember having this interaction when I posted something about the dangerous sugar level, and someone said something about "why need to be alarmed with the sugar level? if it is not safe to consume, then why the government never ban and close down all the bubble tea?"
And then I remembered telling myself "you sweet naive and shallow little creature...the world is not simple like that, and yet you so pure." There are many reason and perhaps controversial side to why these international and local brands made it strong, be it economical or even political ties.. whatever reasons it is, the government can't just ban or close down these businessess. But if somewhere, or someone sees the visible impact and is taking some move and decision in the effort to reduce consumers purchasing, then it is alarming la! And this is not just anywhere or anyone, we talking about the country with very similar if not the same lifestyle habits like ours!
I wasn't bothered really, to engage in such pointless debate. But now that some "government" is doing something... So yeah. To answer that question- yes, Alarming! No need to wait for our government to do anything , we are also capable to have thoughts and analytical thinking no?
And please don't come bash me and say that I'm a hypocrite bla bla bla cause I have posted on bubble tea etc. I have never denied that I have consumed it sometimes. I'm just saying, let's watch what we consume and have things done in a moderate manner- a bit of excessive sugar can be great to mental health occasionally eh.
So peace out. I'm gonna go grab a cup maybe.
