ONE FIREBALL,THREE APODs: I have just been pointed out by Jeff Dai on interesting #NASA's Astronomy Picture Of the Day (APOD) rarity. Today's #APOD also contains bright and memorable fireball from 2018 #Perseid peak, so same #fireball was published and presented as APOD 3 different ways through last 2 years. Extremely bright fireball flew before local midnight of 12th August, 2018, exactly in 21:55:07,67 UTC, which surprised all of dozens of observers in and around the Kolonica Observatory, #Slovakia. The fireball was so bright that even the #nightscape around got brighter like under fainter moonlit and its light trail was visible for more than one hour after the fireball appeared in the sky! Mosaic shows all 3 APODs and if you want more action, check out this video: https://www.astronom.cz/horalek/?p=4182

It’s an excellent time for stargazing! 🌌Jupiter will be at its brightest, and easily visible in the night sky. It will also form a straight line with the moon and Saturn from 11pm – a rare occurrence which we can catch from tonight till 19 June.
You can see the line-up with your naked eye, even without binoculars or telescope. Alternatively, head to the SCOB - Science Centre OBservatory; telescopes are provided every Friday night.
Another fun holiday activity with your kids (though it may be a bit past their bedtime), or perhaps an interesting idea for a romantic date! – LHL

夏のオッ三角形(ないない) I went to the observatory of Hiroshima University. Because it is the drive of the night, the video is dark on average. In Japanese universities owned, Kanata telescope, is the scale of the second. That night, a miracle happened. Fireball flew overhead of me. It was wonderful. Video is not recorded unfortunately. I enjoyed the romance and mystery of the universe. Wife and daughter were delighted, but they were sleepy.
