Yong Tau Foo is a dish that's deeply loved by Jan's family. Hence, Jan decided to open 5 Loaves Hakka Yong Tau Foo to honour and remember her love for her family and the family's love for the dish.

The beancurd was springy and fresh and I enjoyed every bit of it. The fishballs were firm and bouncy, and the homemade meatball was flavourful.

You can have your ytf 'dry' and drizzled with sweet sauce and chilli, or in clear soup. The soup is flavoured with yellow beans, and is light and slightly sweet.

Or go for the Chee Cheong Fun set. The smooth and slightly chewy rolls of thin rice noodles are coated in a generous amount of chilli, sweet sauce and sesame seeds.

Besides yong tau foo, Five Loaves is also serving abacus seeds. We all know that the preparation is tedious, hence very few eateries offer it these days.

What I need right now on this super cold morning!!! (It’s just 13C now) - a bowl of warm Glutinous rice with Chinese sausage 糯米臘腸飯! Sadly, it opens at 12:00 noon 😂⁣

It is becoming harder to find this very local winter food in Hong Kong now, but you can still find this in Keung Kee 強記美食, a Michelin listed street food shop with very simple interior design, all year long! This small bowl of Glutinous rice costs you HKD$39. If you are looking for a more instagrammable photo, add an extra dried sausage, which costs HKD$10. I want to, but I know I can’t finish all. ⁣

This place is also famous for its sweet soup and fried rice rolls. I was too full to have a sweet soup this time. I will leave it for next time to try their iconic Barley with bean curd sheet sweet soup 腐竹薏米糖水. I tried their fried rice roll instead with lots of sesame sauce! They only have sweet sauce and chilli sauce on the table, so you have to request for the sesame sauce if you are a sesame sauce lover like me 🙊 If you want a more crispy rice roll, you can actually request for it.⁣

広島の激辛B級グルメ「激辛つけ麺」辛さにチャレンジ！広島県広島市『唐々亭銀山店』に伺ってきました。以前新天地店に３人でお邪魔しましたが、今回は1人で食べてきました。広島のつけ麺は実は歴史が古く、昭和29年広島市で開店した「新華園」で提供されていた冷麺が現在の広島つけ麺の原型と言われているそうです。唐辛子のピリ辛と大量のゴマを使用した旨辛のダシに冷たく締めた麺を絡めるというシンプルなものですが、これが止まらなくなるほど美味しくて… 今回はその辛さにもチャレンジしてみましたので、早速ご覧ください！

Hiroshima's spicy B-class gourmet "super spicy tsukemen" Challenge the spiciness! I visited "Karakatei Kanayama store" in Hiroshima city, Hiroshima prefecture. I used to visit the Shintenchi store with three people, but this time I ate it alone. Hiroshima tsukemen has a long history, and it is said that the cold noodles offered at "Shinkaen", which opened in Hiroshima City in 1954, are the prototype of the current Hiroshima tsukemen. It's a simple thing of entwining coldly tightened noodles with a spicy soup stock that uses spicy chili peppers and a large amount of sesame seeds, but it's so delicious that it won't stop ... ラーメンショップ巡り、今回は…⁈千葉県流山市『ラーメンショップ前ヶ崎店』に伺ってきました。ラーメンショップはフランチャイズ展開ながら店ごとに任される部分が多く、お店の個性が回る楽しみでもあります。家系ラーメンの創始者であり吉村実氏がかつて、ラーメンショップで修行されていたことから「家系ラーメンの元祖」とも呼ばれるラーメンショップ。柔らかな背脂とごま油が香る柔らかなネギがクセになる！それでは早速動画をご覧ください。
