Two months ago GABI critically ill due to antibiotic toxicity (approved antibiotics), it happened in a matter of hours.
It has been an extremely long two weeks, with lots of tears and worries and very little sleep.
Two weeks of hand feeding, monitoring the water level in her water bottle, obsessive poo checking, and waking up every hour to check on her.
Sedation, x-rays, probiotics, stay at the emergency animal hospital for four days.
Unfortunately, the unexpected condition in emergency medical caused severe problems, her forelimb necrosis.😥
Despite prompt initiation of treatment the infection has eaten away at her bone.
Our vet recommended amputation.
She has adjusted to her three legged life and with a little extra tlc to address the issues only having three legs causes her, is living a healthy and happy life.
She loves running around the cage (although she' quite a bit slower)
GABI is doing amazingly!👍
I believe that animals do so well with such experiences,
because they don’t engage in self pity, as humans might tend to do! ❤
