「就在昨天，一位新認識的朋友，說自己喜歡讀詩，但不知有誰的詩寫得好，也不知自己是否讀懂了，要我推介幾位詩人的作品給她。我馬上就把《玫瑰》推薦給她，告訴她書裡介紹了幾十位詩人的作品，請她自己讀完此書後，喜歡誰的詩就找誰的詩集去看。我打算以後凡再有人問我類似的問題，就直接用這種方法解決，省下我許多功夫......

特別值得提及的是，一向在中國和台灣語境中少被談及的香港詩，在《玫瑰》中得到了多一些的篇幅——廖偉棠在書中，介紹了西西、也斯、飲江、淮遠和邱剛健的詩，還有他自己寫的幾首關於香港的詩。我自己以前也在文章裡說過，香港詩「傳播」不出去的原因其中之一就是香港詩的美學獨樹一格，與中國、台灣大不相同，而美學口味是需要學習的，或者說是需要「翻譯」的，把台灣詩、中國大陸詩介紹給香港讀者的書和文章很多，但把香港詩介紹給中國台灣讀者、大陸讀者則少之又少，我希望日後還有多些機會看到，特別是在這類導讀的書籍中。」——杜家祁

謝謝前香港中文大學講師杜家祁專文推薦廖偉棠文集《玫瑰是沒有理由的開放》，繼七月初建中老師推薦給高二生做為國文課外閱讀選書後，香港也有專家關注到這本詩論非常適合廣大學生讀者。

杜家祁 女士自己也是詩人，過去長年從事新詩創作教學。能獲得老師專文推薦，實在太榮幸了。

<脫口秀小訣竅中英翻譯-靈感篇>

文長注意!

之前小歐在脫口秀社團po了外國佛心大神脫口秀演員Gary Gulman，在twitter上連載的366個脫口秀小訣竅。

小妹就認領了靈感篇來翻譯。以下為22個小訣竅的中英文對照，若有翻的不盡理想的地方，請留言詳述，我會再看怎麼修改。原文和網誌版會放在留言處，方便大家查看。

Tip No. 41: You know those quirky little things you do and think? Collect them in a file or on paper. Even if you’re a storyteller, you can use these as details to add depth and distinction to your jokes.

Tip No. 45: Don’t Hoard Jokes
Don’t worry about “burning” material on a special or album. Hoarding jokes may signal to your brain that you’re out of ideas. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou.

Gary’s thoughts on Tip No. 45: This attitude has been crucial to an unprecedented streak of creativity over the last two years. I’ve written four hours of material, which is almost as much as I wrote in my first 23 years of comedy. Most important has been my health, this idea may be second.

Tip No. 62: Look for inspiration everywhere. Paintings, music, poetry, rap, novels, nonfiction, short stories, theater, philosophy, etc. can all provide a spark for creativity. Cross-pollinate your work with broad influences and watch your creativity grow.

Tip No. 90: After a Good Set, Brainstorm
You just had a great set. Instead of celebrating, use that hour or so after when the synapses are still firing and your confidence is soaring to voice record or write down the ideas that pop up during that especially fertile creative time.
如果你剛完成一場精采的表演，不用太早慶祝，要在大腦突觸仍在觸發、信心爆發、靈感特別豐腴的創作時間裡，把突然出現的想法錄音或寫下，再多花一個小時左右的時間繼續創作吧。

Gary’s thoughts on Tip No. 90: Huge help in making jokes that work longer and coming up with tangents and inspired ideas.

Tip No. 92: Notice where you do your best thinking. The shower? Running? Listening to music? Not listening to music? Driving? Walking? Make sure to put yourself in the places where you’re doing your best thinking as frequently as possible.

Tip No. 157: Need new joke ideas? Be sensitive. If you’re uncomfortable with that word, use “irritable” (or grow up). A lot of good comedy comes from reaction to injustice or discomfort large and small, which requires being hypersensitive to those feelings.

Tip No. 285: Explore unusual angles in a joke. Example: Examine things from the POV of a child or an Expert. My man Jimmy P and I still laugh over his “Martian response to high school football practice: Why are the hard-heads (players) taking orders from the small soft-heads (coach)?”

Tip No. 310: When it comes to solving the puzzles that are our jokes, draw on every area of knowledge, expertise, and talent. It’s so gratifying to use a fact, a lesson, or a memory from elementary school, high school, or elsewhere to fill in the joke.

#一花一天堂
#剎那即永恆

我在創作這作品時，想的是18世紀英國詩人William Blake 寫的詩，短短幾句話，將整個世界的美好都容納在其中

‘’ To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour‘’

翻譯中最好的版本是佛家思想中的：
「 一沙一世界
一花一天堂
一掌一宇宙
一秒一永恆」

我的畫盤裡，主角是極為平凡普通的蜂蜜蛋糕，如Blake詩裡到處可見一花一草一沙。
由於觀看者心境的不同，從平凡小處感嘆造物者的偉大。
大自然界裡所有生物,奇妙美善地和諧共處，如同盤子所有的食材分開來看都是樸實無華，但經過造物主的雙手，合在一起後卻是無法言語的融洽。
剎那間，美好的領悟即是永恆的存在

絕代有佳人，幽居在空谷。
自云良家子，零落依草木。
關中昔喪亂，兄弟遭殺戮。
官高何足論，不得收骨肉。
世情惡衰歇，萬事隨轉燭。
夫婿輕薄兒，新人美如玉。
合昏尚知時，鴛鴦不獨宿。
但見新人笑，那聞舊人哭。
在山泉水清，出山泉水濁。
侍婢賣珠回，牽蘿補茅屋。
摘花不插髮，采柏動盈掬。
天寒翠袖薄，日暮倚修竹。

A fair lady of unrivalled beauty,
Lived in a remote valley away from society.
She told of a good lineage,
But had fallen to the grass roots, and on no one could she rely.

Within the Great Wall once disorder raged,
All her brothers were massacred and family victimised.
What of the power and the glory of office so high?
When in the turmoil of war they couldn't even remains find.

The fickle and shrewd of the world loathed the down and out,
Everything could change just like a candle in the wind might.
She was married to a philanderer,
He cast her aside and took another beauty as his other wife.

Mimosa furls tight in the dark,
Mandarin ducks do not sleep alone at night.
Yet her husband only attended to smiles of new company,
Never did he care whether she would cry.

In the mountains, spring water would run pure and clear,
Off the mountain, spring water would dirt gather and run vile.
She would send her maid to jewellery pawn so as to life sustain,
And to their thatched cottage maintain she put to use morning glory vines.

When she flowers picked, they were not for her hair,
She would however cypress leaves hold, for they fidelity signify.
She braved the cold in her jade-colour light clothing,
Leaning on slender, tall and virtuous bamboos in the twilight.

We have been unable to reunite for so long,
We have been like morning and evening stars that never meet in the sky.
What a night this has been?
For us to share this candlelight.
For how long does youth last?
Your hair has greyed and so has mine.
Of the old acquaintances I called upon, half of them have ghosts become,
Aghast and gut-wrenched I cried.
All of a sudden twenty years have gone by
Before I could again call on where you reside.
You were not engaged when we went our separate ways,
You are now married with children after all this time.
They courteously greet their father's friend,
And my journey enquire.
Before I could their curiosity satisfy,
You have you son bringing out the wine.
We nibble on spring chives just gathered in the evening rain,
In a fresh meal that rough grains contain, abundant is pure joy as old friends reunite.
You marvel at how unexpected such a reunion is,
In one go you gulp down more than a pint.
Pints after, high in spirit you are yet sober still,
And I am grateful for your friendship so genuine.
Tomorrow shall find us separated by mountains again,
What the future holds is vague and undefined.
