TMT UFC fighter Valentina Shevchenko is taking on former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm in the main event of the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night July 23rd.
Holm will look to get back into title contention after losing the belt to Miesha Tate at UFC 196 in March.
It appeared Holm was on track for a decision victory over Tate during the five round bout, but a mistake late in the final five minutes cost her dearly as the veteran bantamweight got the fight to the ground and sunk in a rear naked choke to get the finish.
Shevchenko made an impressive debut with a victory over former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman, but then fall by decision to current No. 1 contender Amanda Nunes.
Shevchenko is considered one of the best strikers in the 135-pound women's division, but she'll be going up against a former champion in Holm in the new main event just announced for the card in Chicago.
The upcoming show on July 23 will feature several other top fights including Anthony "Rumble" Johnson against Glover Teixeira as well as Edson Barboza facing Gilbert Melendez in a lightweight matchup.

Shevchenko is a 17 x world champ and is 11-1 in mma winning her UFC debut a few months back.
Headlining UFC 196 is Connor McGregor vs. Rafael dos Anjos and Holly Holm vs. Miesha Tate.

Tiger Muay Thai fighter and 17 x Muay Thai, MMA, K1 and kickboxing champion Valentina Shevchenko is making her UFC debut at FOX UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2 in Orlando, Florida United States on December 19th.
Shevchenko started training at age 5 and began competition at age 7.
Shevchenko(9-1) has been a member of our fight team for the last few years and has stepped up on short notice to take on #5 ranked bantamweight Sarah Kaufman(17-2). Kaufman is the former Strikeforce champion and has wins over Miesha Tate, Liz Carmouche and and Alexis Davis.
Headlining the card is the highly anticipated lightweight championship battle between Rafael dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone. Also on the card is #2 heavyweight Junior Dos Santos taking on Alistair Overeem and a lightweight battle between Nate Diaz and Michael Johnson.
