In our day and age, with so much online content, digital parenting has become ever more relevant. Now that our girls are savvy in using our gadgets for browsing websites and playing with apps, how do we make sure they navigate the internet safely while we embrace social media as a family?
We can all learn more about digital parenting from two upcoming webinars on 28 Nov (free, registration required) co-organised by the Media Literacy Council. One is presented by TikTok and include useful tips and activities that parents can do with their children on the popular video-sharing app. Another is by LEGO, sharing practical tips and play-based techniques that parents can use to teach their children about online risks, and to guide them to go digital in a safe, smart and kind manner.
These webinars are part of SG:Digital Wonderland, an annual flagship event hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority - IMDA to raise awareness on emerging tech and to promote digital literacy among Singaporeans.
Held on 28-29 Nov online, these live-streaming activities and virtual workshops are curated specially for families and individuals from different age groups. Parents can learn how to better engage their children on social media and discover ways to navigate the Internet safely. I would strongly encourage parents to attend.
