Celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Montfort Schools with 300 proud alumni, staff and students last night.
I am not a Montfortian, but went to Catholic High School. Interesting fact which I just discovered: both schools had a common connection in Father Edward Becheras, a French missionary. He revived Montfort in 1920 and founded Catholic High in 1935!
I met Princeton Toh (right), a P5 student, who led a project with his peers to show their appreciation to the non-teaching staff – administrators, cleaners and canteen vendors. They were putting their values into action. I hope other schools do more such projects too!
May the Montfort Schools continue to live up to their vision to be “A Man for Others”, and nurture many more gentlemen, scholars, sportsmen and leaders.

【玳瑚師父客人見證】 《玄學的力量》
The Power Of Chinese MetaPhysics (English version below)
文 / 劉泳廷 女士 Written by Mdm Loh Yong Ting

I got to know Master Dai Hu in 2012 through my younger cousin and had attended a few sessions of group cultivation led by Master. Subsequently, I was bogged down by my wedding preparations and did not follow my younger cousin to the group cultivation.
I got pregnant this year and the doctor advised me to deliver the baby via caesarean section due to my past operation. My younger cousin then suggested that I should consult Master Dai Hu for an auspicious date to deliver the baby. From there onwards, my affinity with Master continued. This year alone, I had engaged Master Dai Hu to select a date for the delivery of my baby, change my Chinese name, analyze my birth chart, as well as audit the Feng Shui of my mum's residence.
I have benefited greatly from Master Dai Hu's help. Let me share them with you here:
1) Selection of a delivery date for my baby: Master told me repeatedly that this baby would arrive earlier than expected, although he gave me an auspicious date towards end of December. When I went for my routine check-up end of November, the doctor told me that the baby could not wait till end-December (which was the original ETA) and advised me to deliver the baby earlier.
2) Change of Name: My original name always got pronounced wrongly by others. In the past, I did not get much appreciation from my superior, and due to poor health, I would fall sick every other month. However, since I changed my name, I experienced the opposite! My superior valued me more, took in my suggestions at work and started asking me along for meetings. My health condition took a big step forward as well and saved me quite a bit of medical bills!
3) Birth Chart Analysis: We actually could see and understand a lot of things from our Birth Chart. Knowing your birth chart is akin to knowing your future. I am able to plan for my future, and has the visibility of what is ahead and to look out for in order to take the path of least resistance. Master Dai Hu also advised on details such as what is favorable for me, in terms of my diet, clothing and lifestyle choices. For example, Master told me that the Hazeline Cream is good for me, and true enough, my skin dryness and acne conditions improved tremendously only a few days after using the cream.
4) Feng Shui Audit: Not long ago, I invited Master to my Mum's residence for a Feng Shui Audit. The moment he stepped in, he pointed out that my mother suffered from insomnia, and that the roman blinds in my house resulted in our failure to accumulate wealth, etc.
Master's advice: Change the bed frame as well as the position of the bed, after which my mother's sleeping condition miraculously improved to the extent that she, while asleep, did not even stir when I went into her room! Also, we swapped the roman blinds for a blue colored, conventional kind of curtain. My mother struck lottery, twice, on the same day we changed the curtains!
Master Dai Hu also advised my husband to watch out for car accidents and problems, especially at the frontal area of the driver's seat. It happened last Sunday when I heard sounds of metal clanging coming from his car! It gave me a big fright! Thank goodness the fault was discovered early before the unthinkable happened.
One day, out of the blue, Master Dai Hu asked me if I had a photo of my mother. I showed him one and he remarked that my mother would have a blood-related health issue like high blood pressure and the likes. I was dumb-founded as indeed, my mother was diagnosed with high blood pressure the day before and had to be put on medication!
Master Dai Hu is not your ordinary Feng Shui Master. He is a doctor too!
It is my honour to renew this affinity with Master, and I am grateful to him for his advice and teachings, allowing me to experience many positive changes in my career and personal life. No more taking the wrong road in life!
My gratitude to Master Dai Hu! Amituofo.

Allen Iverson calmly sank two free throws, and the magic number flashed on the scoreboard: 50 points.
The last time he did it, people had a problem with it.
This time, it was a milestone that showed how much things have changed.
Iverson tied his career high and made a mockery of his showdown with Sacramento's Jason Williams as the 76ers beat the Kings 119-108.
Iverson's performance was reminiscent of the one in Cleveland three years ago when he put up 50 in the city where he was booed during the rookie game at All-Star weekend.
Now, his team is in position to make the playoffs for the second straight season after an eight-year drought, and Iverson is finally shedding his reputation as a selfish showman who cares only about stats.
He was roundly criticized for his string of 40-point games as a rookie, accused of padding his stats in a push for the Rookie of the Year award--which he won.
Iverson's response this time: "I don't mind taking 40 shots. That's what I do."
"I played that game like it was my last when I was a rookie and scored 50," said Iverson, who equaled the most points scored in the NBA this season. "I did the same thing tonight, just like I do every night. And we won."
Iverson, approaching his first All-Star game, had a slew of incredible numbers: A career-high 20 field goals and 40 attempts, nine rebounds and six assists.
He favorite stat was the one that goes in the standings. Unlike his other 50-point game, the Sixers won.
"Regardless of whether I score 50 points or five points, I'm going to play as hard as I can," Iverson said. "I'm going to play every game like it's my last. I've been saying it since I got here. Regardless if the shots go in or not, I'm going to play hard."
Williams, the Kings' flashy point guard, had 14 points on 5-for-16 shooting and was not a factor in the outcome or the highlight reel.
Both realms belonged to Iverson, who scored 50 for the first time since he became the first rookie since Wilt Chamberlain to have four straight 40-point games. He had 50 on April 12, 1997, in a 125-118 loss to Cleveland.
Iverson scored 12 in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 12 in the third and 11 in the fourth. The Sixers improved to 3-10 in his career when he scores 40 or more.
"He took 40 shots?" said an incredulous Chris Webber, who led Sacramento with 32 points and 15 rebounds. "He made a lot of them, though."
Sixers coach Larry Brown didn't mind the 40 shots, either.
"I played with Rick Barry, and a lot of guys would mumble about the number of shots he takes," Brown said. "And his remark was, 'Half you guys can't get 40 shots.' And I think it's justified. I think it's a remarkable thing that Allen can do that most nights and not look like he lost anything."
It was quite a show witnessed by Philadelphia's fourth sellout crowd this season--including comedian Bill Cosby--and a national TV audience.
"It's nice to see Allen play well in a TV game," Brown said. "There was a time we were never on it, and the reason we're on it now is because we've won a couple of games and Allen's on the team."
Webber fouled out on a dizzying play that produced the two free throws that gave Iverson 50 points. With Philadelphia leading 107-102 and Iverson sitting on 48 points, he knifed into the lane and got his shot blocked as the clock approached the one-minute mark. Eric Snow clapped for him to give up the ball, but Iverson went back into the lane and drew Webber's sixth foul.
Brown motioned to his star with two hands to settle down. After a timeout, Iverson sank both free throws to hit 50 points, giving the Sixers a 109-102 lead with 1:37 left.
Snow had 11 points, 13 assists and no turnovers in what Brown,a former point guard, called "about the best game a point guard can have."
Iverson also hit 50 at the foul line three years ago in Cleveland, but under very different circumstances. He'd been booed when winning the rookie game MVP trophy in Cleveland, and was booed again on that April night. The Sixers were on their way to a 22-60 season.
Iverson had been so worried about the crowd reaction he'd receive in Cleveland that he called his mother, Ann, and told her not to attend the game. He said those thoughts were far away Sunday.
"I wasn't even paying attention," Iverson said. "I was just playing my game."
Notes: Iverson matched the Kings' total of 12 in the third as Philadelphia led 88-73. He scored 27 in the first half as the Sixers led by as many as 14. ... The Kings' eight-game road trip also matched a franchise high. The Cincinnati Royals were 3-5 in 1968-69, and the Kings were 3-5 in 1986-87.

The Portland Trail Blazers are finding the road more enjoyable lately.
Brandon Roy had 26 points and 11 assists and Channing Frye scored a season-high 20 points as Portland beat the Denver Nuggets 116-105 on Sunday night.
It was the Blazers' seventh straight win overall, and third straight victory on the road, where they had lost their first nine games of the season.
"We don't feel invincible, we feel comfortable and confident," Roy said. "Winning on the road is a sign of maturity."
Portland also ended a stretch of futility in Denver. The Blazers got their first win in Denver since Feb. 26, 2003, and snapped the Nuggets' nine-game home winning streak against Portland. Denver had won 15 of the last 17 meetings at home dating back to the 1999-2000 season.
"We've dropped a lot of monkeys this month," said Portland head coach Nate McMillan, whose team has beaten Utah twice in the past week.
The Blazers ended their losing ways in Denver with some hot shooting. They hit 55 percent of their shots, including a 10-for-13 performance by Frye.
"From the beginning to the end of the game they beat us up and down the court and did whatever they wanted to do on the offensive end," said Allen Iverson, who led Denver with 38 points. "They're playing with a lot of confidence having already won six in a row, and they just brought that momentum into here and they whipped us."
The Nuggets were hot early but cooled off in the second half when the Blazers stretched their 12-point halftime lead to 19 heading into the fourth quarter.
"We are getting shots from the work of other people," Frye said. "People are driving to the basket and leaving other people open. That's what is happening."
Carmelo Anthony struggled from the field again and finished with 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting, and Kenyon Martin had 14 for the Nuggets, who have lost two straight after a three-game winning streak.
The Nuggets trailed by as many as 21 before closing the gap in the fourth quarter. Iverson scored 16 points in the period, including a 3-pointer that cut the lead to 103-91 with 6:39 left.
The Blazers responded with a run of their own. Roy hit two layups and Travis Outlaw, who had 17 points, hit a couple of jumpers to increase the lead to 115-97 with 2:26 remaining.
"We expected we would be a good-shooting team from the start of the season," McMillan said. "We've been shooting the ball well during this stretch."
Portland made 58 percent of its shots in the first half and stayed hot from the field at the start of the third quarter. The Blazers went on an 11-0 run early in the second half -- capped by a 3-pointer from Steve Blake -- to extend their lead to 72-52 with 8:22 left.
"This team's been shooting the ball extremely well," Nuggets head coach George Karl said. "They've been finding a hot shooter almost every night."
Early, it was Frye who was hot. The forward scored 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting in the first quarter, and he also pulled down five rebounds for Portland, which took a 30-25 lead heading into the second quarter.
"Frye has shot the ball well the whole season," McMillan said. "Tonight he was on fire. He knocked down everything."
Game notes
The Nuggets had to move to the visitors locker room because of a fire in their locker room early Sunday morning. Karl said a dryer "blew up" in the home locker room around 2 a.m., and the fire department came in to put out a small fire. Karl said it could take up to two weeks for the water damage from the firemen's hoses to be repaired. In the meantime, road teams will use the NHL's visiting locker room. ... Blazers F LaMarcus Aldridge (plantar fasciitis) missed his fourth straight game. ... Portland had six players score in double figures. ... Roy's 11 assists tied a career high. The only other time he had 11 assists was Feb. 2, 2007, in Denver.
