Siapa kat sini sempat merasa zaman kegemilangan Band Indie kat Malaysia 🇲🇾 dulu? Sep sekittt...! Siapa tak kenal dengan band OAG, Estrella, Bunkface, Hujan, Estranged, Meet Uncle Hussein, dan berpuluh lagi band indie yang lain?
Walaupun gaya muzik dan penyampaian yang bersahaja, band indie ni ada pengikutnya yang tersendiri. Lagu yang dinyanyikan mempunyai interpretasi dan mesej mendalam yang ingin disampaikan kepada masyarakat.

Minggu ini, sesi IG LIVE 8for_Aid, kami menjemput Noh Salleh (Noh HUJAN) untuk bercerita mengenai penglibatannya dalam arena kesukarelawan. Beliau pernah melakukan beberapa misi kemanusiaan bersama rakan selebriti lain di luar negara termasuklah Syria 🇸🇾 dan Jordan 🇯🇴 . Beliau juga turut aktif menjalankan aktiviti kesukarelawan bersama rakan NGO lain ketika pandemik Covid-19 melanda negara.
Mesti ada yang nak tahu macam mana seorang vokalis sebuah kumpulan Indie (HUJAN), yang kemudian melibatkan diri dalam kancah kesukarelawan. Sejauh mana karya muzik memberi impak positif ke atas golongan belia yang terlibat dalam arena ini?
Jangan lupa saksikan IG LIVE 8for_Aid dan kami akan berbual santai bersama Noh Salleh untuk bercerita mengenai pengalaman beliau melibatkan diri dalam aktiviti kesukarelawan. Korang sangat di alu-alukan bertanyakan soalan sewaktu sesi IG Live berlangsung dan tetamu kami akan cuba menjawab soalan korang. Jadi jangan lupa 28 Jun 2020, pada jam 9 malam di IG 8for_Aid.

8for_Aid adalah inisiatif peserta Mycorps Misi 8 yang baru pulang dari menjalankan misi ke Asia Selatan iaitu Nepal 🇳🇵dan Bangladesh 🇧🇩 selama 2 bulan. Kini kami pulang untuk berbakti kepada negara tercinta Malaysia 🇲🇾.

In Malaysia, anxiety mounts amongst indie artists and freelance music industry workers fearing for their livelihoods as income is interrupted.

So in today's episode, we get lyrical poets to talk about the down side of MCO and how we can still support our local musicians during this pandemic.

Our first guest gets raw and honest with us. I was touched by her sharing over her IG LIVE a few days back. What was meant to be a makeup tutorial (She is also a MUA) turned out to be an emotional sharing which I could totally relate to, being on the same boat-ish.

Sharon Chong (IG: @thesharonchong) is the Founder and Band Leader for Rainbow Children (IG:@myrainbowchildren), a tribute band to the legendary PRINCE! I first watched their show when I was hosting the KK Jazz Festival years back, and then surprised Azmi on a Valentine's Date with another show by them at No Black Tie. Suffice to say, I am a HUGE fan of the band.
Thank you Sharon for agreeing to come on the show. I texted her the night before and she said YES!

For my next guest, I had to ask permission from his parents who are my friends to interview him on my show. Lucky for me, they gave me the green light, so I DM-ed him over his instagram and started chatting - and TADAH! He appeared on my show.

Mikail Aimran is part of a collaboration of other hiphoppers called BUDAK BELAKANG. They have just launched their BUDAK BELAKANG ANTHEM MV over their YouTube Channel : @BUDAK BELAKANG BELAKANG and in just a few days, they hit 10K! Woohoo. So proud of you Boy! (IG:@itsboyie and @budak_belakang)

They stress on #LetTheYouthSpeakTheTruth... so I ask him just that. What IS the TRUTH?

Finally, I am sooo excited to speak to Kar Mun aka LEMON (IG:@lemontells)
I got to know about her Oracle Card Reading skills through @CovideCareMY, an NGO that we are both supporting and trying to raise funds for. I heard that she will do Oracle Card Reading for RM10 (general) and RM15 (Specific) and all proceeds will go to CovidCareMY. I messaged her and she read my cards LIVE on the show.
I cried. Again. *Face Palm*

Sony Music artists across Asia have united to create a stunning rendition of Taiwanese superstar Eric Chou’s original track “Forever Beautiful.” The new collaborative version titled “Forever Beautiful: All for One Version” features Eric Chou alongside 14 artists from nine regions across Asia singing in both Chinese and English.

In “Forever Beautiful: All for One Version”, the 14 collaborating artists joined Eric Chou by recording their parts remotely across the Asia region, to convey an important message through these touching lyrics: we may speak and sing in different languages and represent the many ethnicities and cultures of Asia, but we are all united with solidarity and support. In these challenging times, music can bring hope and peace along with the message of love and compassion.

Alongside Eric Chou, the artists featured in “Forever Beautiful: All for One Version” represent the vibrant and diverse roster of Sony Music Asia, including Eric Chou (the original singer/songwriter) and singer Kelly Cheng from Taiwan, Wafa, a member from Bahiyya Haneesa (an acapella group from Malaysia), R&B-pop singer NYK, Singaporean artists Benjamin Kheng, Narelle and Sezairi, HÀ LÊ, a vocalist from Vietnam, popular indie-folk-pop band Ben&Ben from the Philippines, singer-songwriter and producer E.viewz from South Korea, singer Fatin from Indonesia, singer-songwriter Jocelyn C from Beijing, and Hong Kong artists Phil Lam, Jason Chan, and Cath Wong.

The video for “Forever Beautiful: All for One Version” features a montage of footage featuring all 15 artists singing their parts, along with images that reflect the current situation across the Asian region.
