英國剪輯師瓊．葛萊格瑞（Jon Gregory）辭世，享壽77歲。他的代表作包括《你是我今生的新娘 Four Weddings and a Funeral》（1994）、《殺手沒有假期 In Bruges》（2008），並剪輯了麥克．李（Mike Leigh）的大多作品如《秘密與謊言 Secrets & Lies》（1996）。近年亦曾以《意外 Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri》（2017）提名奧斯卡最佳剪輯獎。

瓊．葛萊格瑞出生於英屬印度拉合爾（現隸屬於巴基斯坦），父親是農業地產經理。他的童年在印度度過，直到1953年隨家人回到家鄉英國。他曾說自己在學生時期唯有對電影感到濃厚興趣，出了社會之後先投入BBC廣告部門起步，隨後在電影部門擔任助理，開始接觸電影剪輯技巧。在1970年代末期開始，他主要為電視節目進行剪輯。1989年總算出頭，以迷你劇集《Traffic》（1989）首次提名英國金像獎。

自1987年起的電視短片《The Short & Curlies》，葛萊格瑞與麥克．李開始合作。後續合作的作品包括《厚望 High Hopes》（1988）、《生活是甜蜜的 Life Is Sweet》（1990）、《赤裸 Naked》（1993）以及榮獲坎城金棕櫚獎的《秘密與謊言》。近期包括《又一年 Another Year》（2010）、《畫世紀：透納先生 Mr. Turner》（2014）、《彼得盧：人民之聲 Peterloo》（2018）一樣由他操刀剪輯。

麥克．李親自為《衛報》撰寫了葛萊格瑞的訃告，在文中將《秘密與謊言》的成就歸於葛萊格瑞，指出在最後的高潮戲，正是倚靠了葛萊格瑞的犀利判斷，巧妙地處理了七個角色紛亂的情緒。在母親和女兒首次見面的場景之中，葛萊格瑞也說服麥克．李不用特寫鏡頭與額外的剪輯，最後果然極有張力。

「瓊是一個藝術家，他的眼光總能促使素材的本質畢露，而我原本甚至根本沒有意識到其中的亮點。」麥克．李表示。

《秘密與謊言》促使葛萊格瑞在業界聲名大噪，後續邀約也越來越多，包括陳凱歌的英語電影《Killing Me Softly》（2002）。同時他與麥可．紐威爾（Mike Newell）也有密切合作，包括使他再獲英國金像獎提名的《你是我今生的新娘》、《驚天爆 Donnie Brasco》（1997）、《空中塞車 Pushing Tin》（1999）等作。

馬丁．麥克唐納（Martin McDonagh）的《殺手沒有假期》與《意外》則使他第三、四度提名英國金像獎，後者更使之首次入圍奧斯卡，雖然最終都未得獎。事實上，葛萊格瑞40年職業生涯從未以他的電影作品獲得任何獎項殊榮，殊為遺憾。

瓊．葛萊格瑞在2021年9月9日辭世，家屬並未透露其死因。

我想跟各位分享今天釋出的一個動畫配樂 #Se7en 。其實我的音樂基礎是建立在電子音樂和搖滾樂上，只是後來有趣的是在商業音樂的環境中，大多數的合作伙伴都希望我用管弦樂來創作，所以自己電子音樂的作品反而變成少數。
在創作 #Se7en 時，我在一開始就設定了我要用自己喜歡的電子音樂來創作，也謝謝導演、製作人的信任，完成了一個自己非常喜歡的作品。
接下來會有一系列的電子音樂作品，完成後，就來發行專輯吧!

有會畫畫的河豚、會跳舞的蝦子、會唱歌的鯨魚
而日曆的名字，叫做《漫遊者號》，源自 MBARI 深海探測器的名字。我期待他能像一台小潛水艇，帶大家一窺海中的世界。
