🥂🐘 @drunkelephant has just launched in @sephorasg a few days back, have you checked it out? 😍
If you’re still skeptical about cult beauty brands, well, don’t be! I was too, until I tried their C-Firma serum! 🍊 Just after 5 days of use, there’s a noticeable firming & brightening effect on my skin! The brand boasts of being free of the “Suspicious 6” ingredients (Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Screens, Fragrance/Dyes and SLS), therefore products may smell kinda funky to some people but for what it is worth, I will surely continue using it to reap the full benefits! 💖

#PonsPick Day!
I like trying new stuff out and sometimes they're given to me, most times, it catches my eye. I've been trying these products for a while and it's been quite good for me.
1) @yasminhani introduced me to Eco by Sonya products. We were both looking for organic products that we could use while diving (not many people know that some of the sunblock we slap on, can harm the corals 😪) and she brought a range of it in. I was a bit sceptical with this coconut deodorant because I'm so used to my aerosol type deo. It keeps my pits dry and odors free. No hidden nasties.
2) This is Kiehl's "Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence". It is Paraben and Oil free and unlike another similar (Korean) Miracle essence, this doesn't smell funky. Just a few drops before moisturizer.
3) I attended an Oslee event recently and I was amazed by the dude who brought this product to Malaysia, skin. (He apparently suffered from bad breakouts till he discovered Oslee while traveling biz class on CX kalau tak silap. He swears by this Rosehip Beauty Solution Ruby Toner. I love it cause it smells delicious and it tones without making my skin feel uncomfortably tight. I think the event was two weeks ago? My bottle is half full now. That's how much I enjoy using it.
4) Thank you @sephoramy for sending me this Sugar Lip Polish! I told them my lips are prone to dryness and they recommended this yummy exfoliator for the lips! Highly recommended.
and finally,
5) MiaCare Acne Patch for Day and Night. I bought these at Watsons. Don't you just hate it when it's that time of the month and you get that one huge zit and it stands out like a sore thumb? This patch not only helps heal the pimple (leaving no scar), you can apply makeup over it so it acts like an initial concealer. A bit pricey but it's a life saver. Must have for those prone to break outs.
Ok itu jer #PonsPick for today! Time to springclean! ❤️ #berlove

As ladies, we all guilty of holding on to beauty products in our makeup bag or drawer for months without using them or tossing them. We know we should have tossed them a long time ago, but just can’t get around to doing so. We give ourselves several excuses like, “I might need this lipstick someday” or “This might come back into fashion next summer.”
Like every manufactured product, our makeup and skincare products also have a shelf life. Most don’t carry this date on their packs but it’s necessary to know when our fav mascara becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, so that what we bought to make us beautiful does not end up becoming the source of disease and pain. . Imagine using year old mascara and getting a red eye from it…not fab right?
Typically expiration dates are generally a rule of thumb on the products safety after its expiration date. However this can be ambiguous too, because Cosmetics that have been improperly stored - for example, exposed to high temperatures or sunlight, or opened and examined by consumers prior to final sale - may deteriorate substantially before the expiration date.
Lifespan Guidelines For Your Makeup & Skin Care Products
PRODUCT LIFESPAN
Stick Foundation : 2 years
Liquid Foundation:6months – 1 year
Powder : 2 years
Concealer : 2 years
Eyeshadow :2 years
Mascara : 4 - 6 months
Lipstick : 18 months – 2 years
Lipgloss :18 months
Facial Cleansers : 1 -2 years
Moisturizers : 6 months – 1year
Eye/Lip Pencils : 2 years
Gel/Liquid Liner : 4 – 6 months
Another factor that might affect the lifespan of a beauty product is how frequently it is used, once it's opened. There are two types of makeup users. The first type is the person who is hooked on one particular brand, uses it every day, and tends to use every last bit of it. When the makeup is used this often, it has little chance of deteriorating because most times you finish it before it expires. On the other hand, there are those who buy and experiment with different brands and types of makeup, decide they really don't care for any of it, and it can sit in a drawer or cabinet for months, perhaps years. In time, these product will degrade and should be thrown out.
Remember: If it smells funky, looks gunky or the texture has changed significantly—definitely toss it out!
Here are some easy tips for prolonging the lifespan of your makeup
DO store products in a cabinet or drawer
DO wash your hands before using products
DO tighten/secure the cap after each use
DO consider how climate and humidity will shorten a product's shelf life. E.g storing in direct sunlight.
DO write the date of purchase in permanent ink on the bottom or back of the package
DO toss out eye products after you've had an eye infection and same for lip products after a bout of cold sore.
DO abide by the expiration dates on sunscreens, acne products, and prescription medications. such as topical antibiotics and Renova or Retin-A
DO wash brushes, sponges and puffs regularly. They could become breeding ground for bacterias.
DON'T buy products packaged in jars of any kind (no matter how pretty they are!) because fingers getting into jars add unwanted bacteria to the contents. Most jar packaging carries a 100% risk of bacterial contamination.
DON'T store products in direct sunlight or heat!
DON'T share your products with others. Especially Mascaras, powder puffs and Lipstick.
DON'T add water or saliva to thin out or remoisten products
DON'T "pump" your mascara, because the air that is forced in might also carry bacterias.
DON'T purchase products with broken seals or other signs of tampering
So now that you know, check out your makeup bag and vanity case; how many of your makeup products are expired and you’ve continued to use? Eeww…gross, right? Come on! Toss them into the bin and pick up your bag and Credit Card. Its time to go on a make-up shopping spree. At least now you have a tangible excuse to do so! Lol
