【你也可以跟我ㄧ樣，這樣「培養」語言天份】
後天要接受好學校 (Hahow) 的專訪。他們很好奇我如何在學好英文的同時，還在 18 歲時通過日文檢定最高級 (N1)，並有能力在聯合國教科文組織做「日文翻英文」的口譯。
在哥倫比亞大學唸書時，曾參與過開發有關「語言天賦」的評量研究。在測量語言天賦當中，其實有一大塊的考題，都跟「語言歸納能力」、「語言分析能力」相關。
這跟我自己學習語言的經驗是完全吻合的。
在台灣，我們能夠用英文的機會並不多，但我們的 input 環境其實不會太差。只要有心，我們打開電腦可以用 Netflix 追劇、上 TED 就有一堆演講可以聽、書局裡有一本一本的原文書、下載個 KKBox / Spotify 就有英文歌可以聽、早上刷牙、睡前還可以聽聽英文的 Podcast。
但如果過了 5-7 歲左右 (切點有爭議)，光「接觸」這些 input，英文是不會自動進步的。成人學習者要學好英文很大的關鍵，要能夠在聽到英文、讀英文時，能藉由分析「歸納」出些什麼、「記錄」些什麼，以利未來使用。
例如，如果常常聽英文的人，應該會注意到母語人士常常用 It takes…. 當開頭。這不是片語，這叫「慣用句頭」。
✔︎ 希拉蕊曾經引用過諺語 It takes a village to raise a child.
✔︎ 一個巴掌拍不響，叫做 It takes two to tango.
✔︎ 恆毅力一書作者 Angela Duckworth 在提及刻意練習理論時曾說，It takes 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to achieve excellence. (卓越是由 10,000 小時的刻意練習累積而來的。)
✔︎ 說實話需要勇氣叫做 It takes courage to tell the truth.
✔︎ 你很想立刻把口說學好，我說 It takes time. (需要點時間)
爾後你也可能會用出 It takes 2 hours to get there.
觀察、歸納的能力越高，某種程度上就可以說「語言天份」就越高 (本文不討論語音層面的)。
以此可得知：語言天份其實是可以培養、訓練的。我覺得學習語言時，有一大部分是在學習這樣的能力。這不是教室當中，跟著英文老師 take, took, taken 和背零散的單字、片語，可以累積起來的。

哇！終於在哈薩克的找到我們最愛、最想要居住的中亞城市❤️ 好吃、好玩、又先進舒適👍
可以從這邊直接搭夜巴進去烏魯木齊的前哈薩克首度— Almaty 阿拉木圖完全就是一個國際都市😍 不只交通便利、食物好吃而且夠水準、周圍又有許多戶外活動！真心讓人覺得可以在此耍費一個多禮拜😆
阿拉木圖也被稱為「蘋果之都」🍎 據說最初蘋果是從這裡出產的！而且在城市外圍也可以看到野生蘋果樹🌳 只不過我嘗試了一次感覺有點桑桑的，應該是季節不對吧😆
在這裡我們嘗試了在電視曾看過的俄羅斯浴三溫暖 Banya ♨️ 當地人還真的拿著葉子互相拍打對方以及自己身體各處增加血液循環😆 York 也付錢體驗一下，而我則是給人用土耳其浴。在一個房間與其他女人裸體給人刷全身真的是蠻秒的🤣
我們還帶了 York 去聽了他人生第一場歌劇💃 最好的位置一人才 USD$6！明明看海報好像很西方，結果表演開始才發現是穿傳統遊牧民族服裝。整個大傻眼...😅 早知道就花多點錢看芭蕾舞劇🥿
食物的話有道馬肉的佳餚叫做 Beshbarmak🐴 在吉爾吉斯導遊說只有鄉下婚禮才吃得到，結果在哈薩克這裡一堆高檔點的餐廳都有😆 馬肉本身就比較貴，但是水煮方式實在是吃不出差別啊... 🤣
除此之外，還在連鎖披薩店吃到我覺得夠水準的薄皮披薩🍕 這裡食物已經跟台灣差不多了，但由於水準夠，餐廳環境都很舒適，所以願意付這些錢😛
阿拉木圖附近有許多戶外場所，只要一個多小時的公車加纜車，就可以到滑雪場 ⛸️ 難怪許多人都想要搬來這裡😆
不過我覺得最神奇還是俄羅斯 APP www.2gis.ru ❤️ 可以下載離線地圖、完整的查離線公車路線以及時間表😲 不像 Google 離線就無法查大眾交通路線😕 這裡雖然有地鐵，但是公車方便到根本不需要搭別的交通工具 🚌 連我這個愛走路的人都經不起搭公車的誘惑😜
總而言之，好喜歡阿拉木圖啊！你們也有什麼城市是讓你覺得會愛上，想要長居的城市呢？😊

Finally found a Central Asia city we LOVE😍
That is Kazakhstan's ex-capital "Almaty", also known as the "Apple City"🍎 Apparently apples are originated from here and even now in the out skirts of Almaty you can still find wild apple trees 🌳
The moment we arrived in the city, we were surprised by the ease of www.2gis.ru APP 😲 It's a Russian App that's available offline with bus routes, etc🚌 I'd say it's better than Google Map as Google Map can't be used offline to find real-time public transports😕
The buses come so often we didn't felt the need to use metro & walk 2km back to our hostel😬
Then there's the food😍 OMG being in Almaty is like being in a Western country without paying the Western prices😋
I actually had a good thin crusted pizza in a chained pizzeria 🍕 Tried all the traditional Kazak food that we had to try including several horse meat dishes & drinks 🐴
Took York to his first opera as the front row ticket was only USD$6💃 However, turns out it was a Kazak version with traditional outfits 😬 The story like was 2 men fighting over one girl...🤦 While it was interesting but certainly wasn't entertaining 😅 Probably should've picked Nutcracker the ballet instead..🤣
Another highlight of this trip was to experience the Russian Banya (Steam room)♨️ York got to experience the "banya besom" where a bath broom typically made with the branches and leaves of a tree or shrub which secretes aromatic oils is use to hit (massage) the circulation🧹
I got my long wished hammam where I got scrubbed together with all these other naked women 🧖 In that -10℃ weather, the Arasan Baths built in 1980s with a modernistic Soviet style was a real treat😁
People in Almaty are also blessed with being so close to nature! Visited the Medeo ski rink only 45 mins bus ride from the city🚌 Built in 1972, it was used to train figure skating and can hold up to 1000 skaters⛸️
Further up is the Chimbulak Ski resort where it's only a cable line away from Medeo ski rink😌 It's cheaper to rent your ski gears in town and bring it with you up there😊
On the day we left we also hiked up the Kok Tobe mountain just behind our hostel to see the panoramic view of Almaty🏃⛰️
Obviously being in the city reminded us that our original plan was to go into China from here☹️ Don't know when will we ever complete the great silk road journey after this long getaway...🐫
Overall we really enjoyed this city and can definitely stay here and do nothing for two weeks if our trip is indefinite 🤣
Some travel info:
• International mini bus from Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) direct to Almaty (Kazakhstan) is only 400 som & takes 4 hours.
• The metro is 80 tenge (didn't use it)
• The bus is 80 tenge with Onay card and 150 tenge with cash.
• Every car can be a taxi, can just haul it down

小星球特效Tiny Planet教學! This is the Tiny Planet effect tutorial!
我們這次使用的是GoPro Fusion, 一台攝影機360度環景～也就是說這隻相機有兩個鏡頭，前面與後面個一個。這次Cindy帶我去客家文化園區和碧潭吊橋，拍攝出這兩處最美的畫面，再使用後製軟體做出不同的創意影片。因為Fusion創意無限，這支影片就先專注在小星球Tiny Planet特效，讓大家能夠好好地消化～
In this video, we're using the GoPro Fusion, a true 360 action camera that has two lenses, one for the front and one for the back. NO LIMITS.
Cindy took me to Hakka Cultural Park in Taipei, and Bitan Bridge in New Taipei City, to finally test out the camera, and boy, we're totally convinced. Afterwards, we used the Fusion Studio app to make the Tiny Planet effect.
This tutorial does not include all the creativity aspects of the Fusion, it offers so much more!
怕影片無法完整地傳達教學，以下是小星球教學文字解說：
*在之前呢 先前往GoPro官網下載GoPro Fusion Studio App軟體*
1) 使用Fusion拍攝360度環景影片(建議不超過20秒)
2) 在桌面上建立一個資料夾(例如"碧潭吊橋")
3) 資料夾裡再建立"Front"與“Back"兩個資料夾
4) 將相機的SD記憶卡插入電腦，挑選出你要的畫面(我們一拍就超過30支)
5) 將這些影片分別存入"Front"與"Back"資料夾
==========這時前置作業就完成啦 好玩的地方來了==========
6) 打開GoPro Fusion Studio, 點Add Media
7) 點選你桌面上的資料夾("碧潭吊橋"), 點Open
8) 當電腦輸入影片完畢之後，就可以點選左邊的圖庫，在右邊的工作室盡情地發揮你的想像力囉!
9) 完畢之後就可以點右下方的add to render que, 點選你想要輸出的形式 畫質等選項 軟體就開始render!
*小叮嚀*
Render時很費時間，看影片的長短及電腦的速度...我們真花上3-4小時輸出一支不到20秒的影片!!! 建議可以飯前 出門前讓它跑，就不會浪費時間啦
Just in case the video isn't clear enough, below are the steps to create a Tiny Planet video:
*before everything, please go head to GoPro website to download the Fusion Studio app*
1) Get out, shoot your videos using the GoPro Fusion
2) On computer desktop, create a folder (eg. Bitan Bridge)
3) In the folder create two more folders "Front" & "Back"
4) Insert the SD cards into the computer, choose the clips that you want
5) Copy them separate them into the "Front" & "Back" folders
==========Everything here is done, now the fun part==========
6) Open the Fusion Studio app, click Add Media
7) Click on the desktop folder ("Bitan Bridge"), and click Open
8) Once the computer loads all the clips you chose, you can choose them from the left and work on them on the right.
9) Once you're done, click Add to Render Que, and choose the output format and quality etc.
*Tiny little reminder"
Rendering a video takes SO MUCH time, well, depending on the length of the video and the speed of your computer. It took is 3-4 HOURS to complete a less-than-20-sec video.
