(English version below)
【Different paths have different views. We choose the way, which we like the most.】
Shihkai has wanted to start up a business for quite a time. Not so long ago, he finally felt, that the right time has come. We have completed many goals and started to set up new, so Shihkai decided it is time to start.
At that time, Shihkai he's been offered a promotion. Is it better to become a supervisor? Or maybe stick with the startup plan? It was not an easy answer. I didn’t want to give him any pressure, so I decided that I should not influence his choice. After all, no matter what I say, it is his own decision.
After thinking about it for a while, he decided to… gave up the promotion. He was ready to leave the company and try a new lifestyle.
Last year, we met an Indian guy Mohan, who, the same as we, lives in Taiwan. He opened an authentic Indian restaurant Moksha in Taipei. Because of many positive online reviews and because many people recommended this place, we also decided to go and give it a try. We really enjoyed the Indian cuisine there. All the carefully prepared dishes have widened our taste horizons. Later, we became friends with the chef.
After talking with Mohan for a while, I realized that Mohan and Shihkai actually have one thing in common… Before, Mohan worked in famous five-star hotels in New Delhi. Because of his outstanding cooking skills, his talent was appreciated by the boss. And at that time, Mohan faced the same choice as Shihkai. Accept the promotion? Or maybe start own business?
Because Mohan is a very creative person, he always wanted to have his own business and in the end, he decided to walk this way. Fate led him to Taiwan, where soon he opened his first Indian restaurant Moksha, in Taipei Tianmu district.
He devoted all his energy to this place, designed the menu, improved and created his own recipes and also designed the restaurant's interior, bringing all the furniture and artwork from India. More and more Taiwanese and foreigners started noticing his efforts and the restaurant became very popular. Few weeks ago, Mohan has opened his second Moksha restaurant in Taipei Da`an district. I've heard that the famous director Khan Lee also had a dinner there…
Mohan shared with us his thoughts and challenges which he faces in Taiwan. He said that many Taiwanese like trying new food and are always willing to give a chance. He is very grateful, that he can use the Indian cuisine to interact with locals.
Besides Mohan’s amazing cooking skills and creativity, we also admire his hard work, honesty and his respect for people and work.
His story gave us some inspiration. We understand very well, that starting own business is a hard work. But though it is hard, we have a chance to realize our goals and this gives us a sense of accomplishment.
We will dream big and work hard to accomplish our goals! ☆

Saravanaa Bhavan
KL │ How to order delicious vegan Indian cuisine
Saravanaa Bhavan is a multinational South Indian vegetarian restaurant that I have been to once in HK, this time I'm going to try the one in KL.
I always don't know how to order Indian food, I think many of you may suffer the same situation. Today I am going to share how to order delicious vegan Indian cuisine with limited English.
1. First explain that you don't eat egg & milk. Many curries are pre-made and it is difficult to take out milk at the spot, so be clear to the staff, my excuse is: I am allergy/sensitive to milk, my body will be uncomfortable, I may need to go to hospital after eating milk 🤣 Well, I do feel a little uncomfortable when I eat milk.
2. In addition to let the staff directly introduce you the dishes, you can act like a friend and chat with him, ask him which dish he likes the most, and then check with him if there is milk.
3. Before deciding to order, I usually look at the staff again and ask cutely: Are you sure I will like this dish? After he said yes, I will say: Good! I believe you! (with a big smile) 🤣
SEE! look at my dishes, my travel companions and I were very satisfied with the meal, although I don't know much about what I ate, but it is delicious! I especially like the triangular Dosa, with potato mash inside, it's slightly spicy, but still good! The curry is not spicy, eat with the rice and Roti please! Even the green mint-flavored drink is recommended by the staff. He said it is his favorite. It tastes good!
I felt really happy with the meal, so at this moment, I would look at the staff and put my thumbs up. The staff even came over and chat with us a bit. Everyone was very happy, nice~
the above is just my own experience, feel free to share yours with me~

indian dishes in english 在 玳瑚師父 Master Dai Hu Facebook 的精選貼文
(English version below)
THE SIGHTINGS OF MASTER DAI HU 4
......................
I used to frequent a Chinese restaurant named Crystal Jade Shanghai Xiao Long Bao about 15 years ago. Opposite this restaurant was another eatery, Pokka Cafe, a renowned restaurant in Japan. I, Master Dai Hu, am someone who knows how to eat. A person who truly knows how to eat will not restrict himself/herself to one particular cuisine. I accept all types of cuisine: Chinese, Western, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, etc. Wow! With such a huge spread of cuisine in front of me, yet there isn't any trace of saliva on my shirt or on the floor, this shows how strong my inner strength is! (laughs) Out of consideration for my clients, that they may have a more serene and comfortable environment, I started to patronise the Pokka Cafe of Japan.
At this cafe, I enjoyed their high-quality Hawaiian spaghetti dish and my favourite milk tea. These two dishes always have me going back for more. As such, the professional assistant captain would straightaway know my order when she saw me. When I was not meeting clients, I would dine there alone. The assistant captain and her staff would seize the chance and come over to chat. Soon, we got on more familiar terms. She then told me about the restaurant manager whom she said was not living up to his title. Despite being a manager, he did not set a good example. He failed to lead his staff and mange the restaurant well. Instead, he would come to work late, leave early, and often disappeared during the restaurant’s peak period. He also enjoyed telling dirty jokes to young pretty female staff, etc. After listening to her, I asked if the boss knew about it. She replied that it was not the culture of a Japanese company to dismiss its employees. I saw that she was not recognised for her contribution despite being a responsible and hardworking staff. Therefore I use the prowess of my sight and took a glance at the restaurant manager. Thereafter, I told the staff that the manager would soon be made redundant. The truth is, not long after my prediction, the restaurant manager indeed got the sack from the company.
I was invited to a flat unit situated in the North-eastern part of our country, to provide divination service. The session was not meant for the lady owner of the house, but for a lady friend whom she had known for many years. I was seated on the sofa, and chatting with the lady owner while waiting for her friend to arrive. We waited for some time before her friend finally came. The lady owner was the boss of a maid agency, and that explained the many maids undergoing training in her house.
When the session with her friend ended, I spotted one particularly “extraordinary” maid among the group smiling slightly at me. Because of her "extraordinariness", I immediately advised the lady owner to keep this maid by her side always and not refer her to others. Naturally, she asked me why. I remembered telling her, " This maid would be of help to you in time to come." Many years later, misfortune struck and this lady boss was left with only $40 in her possession. This maid not only stayed with her but also bought meals for the lady boss with her own money. The lady boss recounted this incident to me and was grateful for my advice. She finally understood the reason for my advice to keep this “extraordinary” maid by her side.
Our every deed, virtuous or non-virtuous, our every motive and future development, are all clearly “written” on our faces. One who knows how to read these signs can be regarded as an accomplished face reading expert. This ability is also known as having the penetrating knowledge of the mind. A human's face is like a weather station. When a person is grieving, the face shows a gloomy day. When a person is enraged, the face is stormy with hurricanes or roaring with thunder. (laughs) When When he is happy and joyful, the face will show a clear day, with even the sun riding high in the sky. When he is in a romance, the face will show signs of Spring. When he is successful in his career and his business raking in the profits, it is summer time on the face. When he is pensive and worrisome, the face becomes autumn-like. And when he is fraught with challenges and stricken by ailments, the face will manifest the winter season. The face of the Pokka Cafe’s manager was showing auras of Autumn and Winter. That was why I boldly predicted that he would lose his job soon. On the other hand, the face of the “extraordinary” maid was showing a clear day. Hence I advised the lady boss to hold on to her. Should you have doubts on who to employ, I, Master Dai Hu, am your first choice for advice!

Singaporean cuisine is multi-faceted because of cultural influences. While a majority of Singaporeans are Chinese, we also have Malay, Indian and Eurasian ethnic groups. We've been taught since young to embrace racial diversity and maintain social harmony. This is not only evident in our language - Singlish, which is a variety of English spoken in Singapore, incorporating elements of Chinese and Malay, but also the food that we eat. Spicy food is rather common in Singapore so when Sichuan cuisine is brought over to our shore, they immediately became a hit. Almost all the coffeeshops or foodcourts in Singapore these days have at least one stall selling Sichuan food. Sichuan (Szechuan or sometimes spelt as Schezwan) food has a unique bold and lip-numbing spiciness in most of their dishes because of the liberal use of garlic, Sichuan peppercorns and other spices. One of their most popular dishes is this Spicy Fish Hot Pot or Chong Qing Grilled Fish. The soup base of this dish is good to go with rice and noodles. You can also add any side ingredients, such as beancurd skin, tofu, mushrooms, prawns, instant ramen noodles, etc to this dish. If you have a party coming up, you can consider serving this over a portable stove and have the side ingredients placed on the side so that your guests can cook while they eat. It's a really nice experience. Just prepare extra stock because we can guarantee you that a top-up is required. If you've never tried this yummy dish before, do give it a go.
See the ingredient list below for your easy reference.
Hope you can recreate this yummy dish in the comfort of your home. Happy cooking!

I think that sushi is a Japanese dish famous around the world. Sea urchin and salmon roe are very popular sushi ingredients in Japan. But since they are so expensive, we can only eat them from time to time. Non-Japanese people, what kind of sushi ingredients do you like and dislike? It's interesting to think about the different tastes in different countries. By the way, I recently tried eating Southern Indian Curry, and it was really delicious.
