He has taking over the kitchen and whipping up homecooked meals for us, much to my relief. Even when he does not, he also goes out to dabao and then make a grocery run too so we are able to stay home and yet not let our fridge, or tummies, go empty.
The kids are over the moon to see more of Papa and commented "Papa can cook well!" which is a fact and I've always applauded his creativity and culinary skills. So I'm more than happy to take a backseat in the kitchen and focus on cleaning up the dishes, haha. Oh wait, I still have three different aged kids and all their HBL homework, online classes and incessant questions to deal with every day but I still don't think I drew the short end of the straw.
As a couple, we might argue often since we face each other so much more - which is a huge change from the norm - and have differing opinions in many matters, especially when it comes to handling, raising and disciplining the kids. But at the end of the day, hopefully we can let bygones be bygones and be able to recognise and accept that we still work better as a team on this parenting journey. I don't think I can do it on my own and I also don't think he can make it without me. Haha. #实话实说
That said, having a piping hot dinner cooked with love never fails to warm our tummies and our hearts. It just makes everything seem better and the world starts spinning the right way once more. So thank you, Papa Chef.
P.S. We are eating takeaways tonight but we still appreciate the effort taken to grab the food and groceries, yeah? Gonna catch PM Lee's address in 5 mins!
