中環 Central│高水準港式自助餐。HKD88任食+抗疫特別餐!
相信素食朋友對「無肉食」應該不陌生,北角、佐敦、旺角也有分店,甚至連我身邊的肉食朋友也聽說過這素食自助餐。「無肉食」近期更殺入中環開分店,而且主打VEGAN,包括我一直期待著的蛋糕也是VEGAN的,即無蛋奶成份。我真的是在加國時就已經盼望著要回港,好好品嚐一番!
簡潔、寬敞、明亮的裝修,讓我和朋友都感到很自在舒適。自助區域非常乾淨,我第一眼就相中甜品區了!而且廚師真的很貼心把甜點都做得很小塊,好讓我可以試更多不同的菜餚!港人至愛的「木桶豆腐花」是另一亮點,你甚至可以加點紅豆,秒變紅豆豆花。VEGAN甜品真的讓我很驚喜,最愛紐約芝士蛋糕和草莓撻!
除了甜品,自助區也有其他的菜餚,包括冷盤、熱盤、炸物、湯品等。但這裡我想為大家介紹「抗疫期間特別餐」,價錢為HKD88-HKD148,而且價錢已包括了自助餐,簡直是良心餐廳!重點是12款特別餐裡,樣樣都感覺很好吃,而且有部分餐點更使用了「新豬肉 Omnipork」、「未來肉 Beyond Meat」和「新韓牛 Unlimeat」。例如我點的乾炒牛河,使用了新韓牛,連肉食朋友也覺得驚訝,太像了!而且炒得很有鍋氣,非常香港!

I believe veg friends should be familiar with "Ahimsa Buffet". There are also branches in North Point, Jordan and Mong Kok. Even the meat friends around me have heard of this vegetarian buffet. "Ahimsa Buffet" has recently opened a branch in Central, and it is 100% VEGAN, including the cake I have been waiting for so long. I was really looking forward to returning to Hong Kong when I was in Canada, and have a good meal here!
The simple, spacious and bright decoration makes me and my friend feel comfortable. The buffet area is very clean, and immediately spot the dessert area! I appreciate that the chef made the desserts very tiny, so that I could try more different dishes! Hong Kong people's beloved "Wooden Tofu Dessert" is another highlight. You can even add some red beans and change them to red beans tofu dessert in seconds. VEGAN desserts really surprised me. I love the New York cheesecake and the strawberry tart the most!
In addition to desserts, there are other dishes in the buffet area, including cold dishes, hot dishes, fried, soups, etc. But here I want to introduce you to "Special Meal During Epidemic Prevention Period", the price is between HKD88-HKD148, and the it includes the buffet, it is a restaurant of conscience! The main point is that in the 12 special meals, everything feels delicious, and some meals also use "Omnipork", "Beyond Meat" and "Unlimeat". For example, I ordered the Fried Ho Fan with beef, using the unlimeat, and even my meat friend was surprised, it just tastes so similar! And this is a classic Kong style dish!

今年母親節不幸遇上COVID-19,限聚令還在生效中,最多8人聚會。我們就剛好7大1小,去野餐兼吃了純素蛋糕,這個「有機英式伯爵茶蛋糕」,很清新,和純素奶油超級搭!感謝 Vegan lifestyle Passion !
晚上,素食自助餐 - 齊齊素 Veggie Together !雖然是蛋奶素,但也有不少純素選擇,我的肉食家人全部一致認同這家真的很好吃,很喜歡!食物種類很多,炸物、炒菜、PIZZA、壽司、冷盤、湯品、甜品等。肉食家人給你們推薦素叉燒、咖哩角、純素PIZZA!
家裡只有我一個吃素,但最近爸媽開始變成海鮮素,今天兩家人陪我吃素,太好了!而且重點是大家都吃得很開心很滿足!母親節萬歲 🥳
2020.05.10 Mother's Day in Year N
This year, we can only have up to 8 people to gather together because of the COVID-19. So we have 7 adults + 1 kid to picnic. First, we had a vegan cake. This "Organic Aged English Earl Grey Cake" is very refreshing and super match with the vegan cream! Thanks to Vegan lifestyle Passion !
In the evening, we went to a vegetarian buffet - 齊齊素 Veggie Together ! Although it is vegetarian, there are also many vegan options. My meat eaters family members all agree that this is really delicious and they like it! There are many types of food, fried, stir-fried dishes, PIZZA, sushi, cold, soups, desserts, etc. The meat eater family members recommend you vegan Char siu, curry corner, vegan PIZZA!
I am the only vegan at home, but recently my parents started to become pescatarian. Today, two families are willing to have veg dinner with me, which is great! And the point is that everyone is happy and satisfied! Happy Mother's Day 🥳

黃刀鎮 Yellowknife│-30°C 下的溫暖 (葷素共融)
黃刀鎮的冬天,-30°C 至 -50°C 的氣溫是非常正常的。在如此冷的天氣下旅行,是什麼感覺的呢?就是... 常常想到躲進室內 🙈 特別像「Woodyard」這種以木頭搭建的餐廳,看到就覺得暖暖的,裡面的裝潢燈光,更顯溫馨~
這裡最有名的其實是他們的自家啤酒,那不喝酒的我來這是為了什麼?其實真的就是被其小木屋迷住了,幸好他們也有提供幾款素食料理。
「Tempura Vegetables (CA14)」,只要把蛋黃醬拿走,就是vegan了,店員還很細心地幫我去廚房確認呢!另外一款「Black Bean Burrito (CA16)」,看起來很好吃,可惜裡面的cheese拿不走,所以是蛋奶素。還有一款「Vegetable Curry (CA21)」,咖哩耶!可是只有晚餐才供應,下次還有機會的!
Yellowknife││Warm at -30°C (veg friendly)
The temperatures is very normal between -30°C and -50°C in the winter of Yellowknife. How does it feel to travel in such a cold weather? You will often think of hiding in a room. 🙈 A restaurant made of wood, such as "Woodyard", feels warm when you see it, and the decoration and lights inside made you feel even warmer.
Their own beer is actually very famous here, and I don't drink so why would I come here? In fact, I was attracted by their wood cabin. Fortunately, they also offer several veg dishes.
"Tempura Vegetables (CA14)", as long as you remove the mayo, it's vegan. The server even helped me go to the kitchen to confirm it! The other one - "Black Bean Burrito (CA16)" looks delicious, but unfortunately the cheese in it can't be taken away, so it's for vegetarian. There is also a "Vegetable Curry (CA21)", YES! CURRY! But it's only served for dinner, I will definitely come next time to try this!

Hello friends! Today we're going to show you how to make Spanish classic chilled soup for summer: Gazpacho(and yes, it's vegan ❤️ ).
Gazpacho is one of the best known Spanish dishes. It originates from the South of Spain, the Andalusia area. In there, most gazpacho recipes include stale bread, tomato, cucumbers, onion, green bell pepper, garlic, olive oil, sherry vinegar, water, and salt. Especially during hot summer days, cold gazpacho is ideally to enjoy as an appetizer.
Today, gazpacho has different varieties. But in this video, we wanna show you the most popular and classic tomato based version. Served cold and enjoy with homemade croutons, it’s so good in summer. Enjoy. :)

How to make Spanish Gazpacho Soup,
Spanish Gazpacho cold Soup Recipe
☞ Yield: 4~5 servings, 150ml/cup
✎ Ingredients
beef tomatoes & cherry tomatoes 420g
cucumber 75g
green bell pepper, 35g
red bell pepper, 35g
red onion 20g
garlic 2g
old bread 2 slices (22g)
olive oil 12g (1.5 tbsp)
sherry vinegar 12g (1tbsp, vinagre de Jerez)
salt Q.S.
a pinch of black pepper
homemade croutons Q.S.
Instructions
1. Cut the baguette slices into small pieces. Set aside.
2. Slice off the stem-end of the green bell pepper, remove the ribs, veins and seeds away, then cut into small pieces. Repeat the process for red bell pepper.
3. Cut the onion into thin slices.
4. Cut off the root end, and peel the skin from the clove. Slice the clove into thin pieces.
5. Cut off the stems of cucumber, then peel the skin and slice into a platter.
6. Cut the tomato in half, and remove the stem and core. Cut the tomato into small wedges.
7. Place the tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic into a food processor or blender, blend until very smooth.
8. Add baguette bread and
soak completely with vegetable puree until soft. Season with salt and black pepper, drizzle olive oil as you like, and add the sherry vinegar. Cover the lid and blend until well combined.
9. Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary. 10. Strain the mixture through a strainer, pushing all the liquid through with a spatula and discard the solids. Chill until very cold for hours or overnight.
11. Cut the baguette in half, then cut in half lengthwise and slice into bite-size. Set aside.
12. Mince garlic. Combine olive oil and minced garlic, and then drizzle (the bread) with oil evenly.
13. Place the breads onto a baking sheet. Season with black pepper and Parmesan. If you like, you can season with salt.
14. Preheat oven to 170C, bake for 12-14 mins or golden brown.
15. Remove the croutons from oven, let cool.
16. To serve, pour gazpacho into a cup or a bowl, put some ice cubes, garnish with tomatoes, chopped cucumber, homemade croutons and a drizzle of olive oil.

Kitsune Udon literary means "fox Udon" in Japanese. Because Aburaage is fox's favorite food in the folktale.

How to Make Kitsune Udon (juicy and tasty deep-fried Tofu) Recipe
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 20min
Number of servings: 2
Ingredients
2 frozen Udon noodles *I used TableMark (Katokichi), any brand is OK
2 Aburaage (deep-fried Tofu pouch)
A
* 100ml Dashi broth (using packaged dashi powder saves time)
* 1 tbsp. Mirin (sweet Sake)
* 1 tbsp. sugar
* 1 tbsp. soy sauce
Kaketsuyu (Udon soup)
* 500ml Dashi broth (using packaged dashi powder saves time)
* 2 tbsp. Mirin (sweet Sake)
* 1 tsp. soy sauce
* 1/2 tsp. salt
chopped green onions
Shichimi-togarashi (seven flavor chili pepper) if you like
Directions:
1. In a pot, make 600ml Dashi broth: 100ml for Aburaage, 500ml for Kaketsuyu. I used Kayanoya Dashi - https://amzn.to/3ca6ypI
2. Cut Aburaage into half. Put Aburaage in boiling water for 3 minutes to remove the excess oil. Drain in a strainer, when it becomes cool enough to handle, press with your hands to drain well. By removing excess oil, Aburaage becomes very light and soaks the seasonings very well.
3. In a small pot, put A and Aburaage, then cover with Otoshibuta (wooden drop-lid or you can substitute it with a small plate). Simmer for 7~8 minutes then stop the heat. Do not simmer it down to make it juicy and fluffy.
4. Put Kaketsuyu (Udon soup) in a pot then bring to a boil.
5. Bring water to a boil in a large pot, if your pot is small cook Udon 1 serving at a time, cook Udon on medium high heat as directed on its package. (Cooking time was 1 minute for TableMark frozen Udon) You shake the noodles in boiling water then stop the heat when they are separated.
6. Wash with cold water to remove the slimy texture. Put Udon again in boiling water to make it warm. Using the edge of a serving bowl, slide in the noodles.
7. Pour in some Kaketsuyu (Udon soup), place Aburaage, and garnish with chopped green onions. Put some Shichimi-togarashi (seven flavor chili pepper) if you like.
I love using Kayanoya Dashi. Vegan/Vegetarian people can use Kombu or Vegetable Dashi broth for the dipping sauce 👍

1) 1 large Spring Roll Wrap – 44Cals each
2) 1 large Seaweed sheet – 10Cals each
3) ½ cup (75g) Sweet Turnip, shredded – 21Cals
4) ¼ cup (21g) Carrots, shredded – 9Cals
5) 2 tbsps. (20g) Sweet Corn – 16Cals
