Last week I was climbing some cliffs in Queenstown with my life dependent on a cable! The first day back at work after a holiday, especially a long one, is tough!! I was a bit scared climbing this yes, but I slowly trusted the system and I wanna do it again! Now to snap out of my daydream and focus on work, lol

So, we drove back over an hour from Wanaka back to Queenstown and went straight into climbing!
With Climbing Queenstown, you can choose to do rock climbing or Via Ferrata, the first and only one in New Zealand.
The Via Ferrata climbing system consists of three carabiners, two to secure to the cable and one for safety.
It wasn't that physically demanding to climb these rungs fixed into the sides of Queenstown Hill, but I got a bit scared halfway through because we were 400 metres above ground!
You had to move along and keep unclipping and clipping the carabiners to the cable, and I was afraid of falling off before I could clip properly. But during the switching, the third carabiner is to be clipped to the rung and you can let go of your hands completely without falling off. The system also works in a way that the cable will catch you if you slip.
I tried to avoid looking down because I didn't want to see how far up we have gone. It was really fun though! It's so safe that families can bring their children too. 13 years and accident-free!
