Ghost Island Media is a podcast network based in Taipei, Taiwan. We create and curate informative and engaging audio shows featuring breakout voices. Our eight shows range widely in topics: climate, cannabis, storytelling, audio documentaries, journalism, diplomacy and more. Our shows are in English or Mandarin, and our audiences are global. We are looking for a producer to join our team.

We are a small team of writers, creators, and producers and we work with a dynamic cast of hosts and collaborators. We are bilingual and mostly multi-cultural. We launched our first show in April 2019.

Our show on cannabis ”大麻煩不煩” won “Best Show Host” at the 2021 KKBOX Podcast Awards in Taiwan. Our current-affairs show, “The Taiwan Take” was finalist at the 2020 Excellent Journalism Award in Taiwan. Our climate show, “Waste Not Why Not” is a recognized “Global Circular Economy Solution” by SITRA Fund in Finland. In May 2021 we launched Taiwan’s first audio documentary podcast.

Podcasts: You will work closely with executive producers, hosts, and assistants to create and present new episodes. You will also help shows grow and contribute to the development of new shows.

Network: You will work alongside cofounders to grow the network through programming and partnerships.

You are a storyteller with experience in writing, audio, visual, or interactive. You believe in advocacy, social impact, and the positive power of media. You are a team player. You might even be weird. Your tasks will include:

+ Identify and pitch new episodes
+ Research and book guests
+ Conduct pre-interviews and draft episode outlines or scripts
+ Recording
+ Editing, packaging audio files
+ Publishing on RSS platforms and social media

FFXIV ถูกพัฒนาในชื่อโปรเจคต์ Rapture เป็น MMO RPG ของซีรีส์ FF แบบเดียวกับ FFXI อันโด่งดัง โปรเจคต์ Rapture นั้นถูกพัฒนามาตั้งแต่ปี 2005 และเปิดตัวอย่างเป็นทางการในปี 2009 โดยประกาศว่าจะลงบน PC และ PlayStation 3 ที่ตอนนั้นยังไม่ออก
.
สมัย XI ออกเราไม่มีโอกาสได้เล่นเพราะยังเป็นเด็กหลั่นล้าอยู่ ได้ค่าขนมวันละสิบยี่สิบบาทไม่มีปัญญาเติมรายเดือนหรอก PS2 ออกใหม่ๆก็ยังไม่มี ช่วงนั้นไปบ้าอ่านการ์ตูนซึ่งเป็นงานอดิเรกที่ถูกกว่ามาก เกมไม่ได้จับไปหลายปี

เป็นเหตุผลหนึ่งที่อยากเล่น XIV แต่แรกที่เห็นประกาศเปิดตัว อารมณ์ตกรถขบวนที่แล้วก็รอขึ้นขบวนนี้แทนละกัน เพราะตอนหลังที่มาเล่น XI มันก็ไม่เหมือนกับตอนที่เกมเพิ่งเปิดแล้ว MMO มันมีเอกลักษณ์ที่ควรจะเล่นไปพร้อมๆกับคนอื่นทั่วโลก

XIV ตอนนั้นผู้กำกับยังเป็นทานากะในตำนาน (ฮิโรมิจิทานากะ) ที่เรียกว่าในตำนานเพราะเราเองมีความคาดหวังจากการได้ฟังเรื่องของภาค XI มามากมาย
.
ที่พบเจอมาคือทุกคนที่เคยได้เล่น XI ล้วนแต่ชื่นชมยกย่องตัวเกมทั้งสิ้น ทานากะมีภาพลักษณ์เป็นผู้กำกับมากฝีมือ จะว่าไปจนถึงตอนนี้เราก็ยังคิดว่าเขามีส่วนที่เก่งจริงนะ การที่เค้าล้มเหลวกับ XIV ก็ไม่ได้ลบความสำเร็จที่เค้าเคยทำให้ XI เพียงแต่เวลาและจังหวะต่างๆมันเปลี่ยนไปทำให้แนวคิดแบบเดิมมันไม่เวิร์คอีกแล้ว
.
ก่อน XIV เวอร์ชั่นแรกจะออกก็มีโคลสเบต้าให้ลองเล่น เจออุปสรรคแรกคือ เกมกินสเปคมาก PC ที่บ้านเล่นแทบไม่ได้ จำได้ว่าแค่สร้างตัวละครเฟรมเรตยังหน่วงทึ่ดๆ แต่สุดท้ายก็ใช้คอมแก่ๆที่บ้านถูลู่ถูกังเข้าไปในเบต้าจนได้
.
แล้วเกมก็วางจำหน่ายอย่างเป็นทางการในปี 2010 เวอร์ชั่นแรกของเกมที่เรียกกันว่า 1.0 กระแสตอบรับช่วงวันแรกๆที่เราจำได้ในตอนนั้นคือคนเล่นส่วนมากก็ไฮป์กัน และส่วนมากก็เป็นคนที่เล่น XI มาด้วย
.
มีส่วนน้อยที่กังวลว่าเกมยังดูจะไม่มีเนื้อหาอะไรให้ทำ หลายๆอย่างก็เชยมากกก แต่ด้วยความศรัทธาในตัวทานากะและชื่อเสียงจาก XI ก็ไม่มีใครคิดว่าเกมจะพัง
.
จนแม้แต่ตอนที่เกมออกมาสักพักแล้ว เสียงด่าเริ่มดัง แต่แฟนพันธุ์แท้ก็ยังอยู่ในอาการ denial ต้องลองเล่นไปถึงเอ็นด์เกมมั่งล่ะ ให้รออัพเดตที่กำลังจะมามั่งล่ะ และเนื่องจากเป็น MMO คะแนนก็ออกช้า แต่พอออกมาก็ทำเอาตะลึง ค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 4/10 ถ้าเป็นเกรดก็เท่ากับศูนย์ กลายเป็น FF ภาคหลักที่คะแนนต่ำที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ คือเล่นเอากระแสติ XIII ปีก่อนหน้ากลายเป็นเรื่องจิ๊บจ๊อยไปเลย

ผ่านไปสามเดือน ก็เป็นเอกฉันท์ว่า XIV ฉบับ 1.0 คือความล้มเหลวทั้งแง่กระแสตอบรับและยอดขาย ประธาน SQEX ในตอนนั้นคือวาดะ ตัดสินใจเปลี่ยนหัวทีมพัฒนา ทานากะถูกถอดไป กลายเป็นใครก็ไม่รู้ที่ชื่อ นาโอกิ โยชิดะ
.
โยชิดะผู้ขาดเครดิตอันน่าเชื่อถือก็ได้เริ่มนำทีมพัฒนา แก้ไขเกมไปพลาง พร้อมกับที่ทางค่ายบอกว่าจะ 'rework' เกมใหม่
.
ตอนนั้นถือเป็นเรื่องใหม่มาก เกมออกมาแล้วทำใหม่ได้ด้วยเหรอ หลายคนก็งงและนึกภาพไม่ออก ตอนนั้นเราเองไม่รู้สึกเลยว่าเกมนี้จะกลับมาอยู่ในจุดที่เล่นอยู่ในปัจจุบันได้ ยิ่งผู้กำกับคนใหม่เป็นคนที่ไม่รู้จักเลย เครดิตที่พยายามลองหาดูได้คือดราก้อนเควสต์ภาคสปินออฟเล็กๆ...ที่ก็ไม่รู้จักอีกน่ะแหล่ะ นี่แสควร์มันเอาใครมารับงานต่อกันนะ

แต่จำได้ว่าจุดประทับใจกับผู้กำกับใหม่ที่ชื่อโยชิดะคนนี้คือไม่มีการกล่าวโทษหรือทับถมทีมงานเก่าเลย จะมองว่าเป็นมารยาทการแสดงออกให้สาธารณชนแบบชาวญี่ปุ่นก็ได้ แต่นี่คือสิ่งแรกที่เราชอบในตัวโยชิพี
.
กรอเร็วผ่านไปประมาณสองปี โยชิดะซื้อใจแฟนเดนตายที่ทนเล่น 1.0 ได้ส่วนหนึ่งแล้วด้วยการมีไลฟ์สดอัพเดตและตอบคำถามอย่างต่อเนื่อง แต่ยังเหลืออุปสรรคสำคัญว่า เวอร์ชั่น 2.0 ที่ใช้เวลา 'rework' มาสองปีจะประสบความสำเร็จหรือเปล่า จะกู้ชื่อเสียได้มั้ย คนทั่วไปและสื่อส่วนใหญ่ลืมเกมนี้ไปแล้วด้วยซ้ำ

แล้วทีมงานก็ปิดเซิฟเวอร์ของเกมเวอร์ชั่นแรกแบบโยงเข้ากับเนื้อเรื่องอย่างไม่เคยมีใครทำมาก่อน ดาลามุดแตกออกมาเป็นบาฮามุท ระเบิดสนามรบกระจุยจนลุยซัวต้องส่งนักรบแห่งแสงข้ามมาในอีกห้าปี(ในเกม)ให้หลัง เกมเวอร์ชั่น 1.0 ปิดตัวลงถาวร ไปเจอกันใหม่ในฉบับรีเวิร์ค FFXIV : A Realm Reborn

ARR เองก็มีทั้งอัลฟ่าและเบต้า สำหรับคอมเราในตอนนั้นแค่เล่นเบต้าก็ลื่นกว่าเกมเต็มของ 1.0 คนละภพภูมิ...และด้วยการอัพเกรดกราฟฟิก ระบบหลายๆอย่างปรับให้ทันสมัยขึ้นด้วยการเรียนรู้จาก WoW และเกมอื่น แน่นอนว่ามีคนไม่พอใจที่เกมไม่เหมือน Spiritual successor ของ XI อีกต่อไปแล้ว แต่นั่นก็เป็นแค่ส่วนน้อย
.
กระแสของเบต้าเป็นไปในทางที่ดี กลุ่มคนไทยก็เล่นกันใหญ่ทั้งๆที่เป็นแค่เบต้า ถ้าจำไม่ผิดเบต้าตันที่เบรย์ฟอกซ์มั้งนะ มีบางคนฟาร์มจนได้ชุดครบเลย สมัยนั้นแค่ชุดอินแฟนทรีกับแบทเทิลเมจก็สวยมากแล้ว
.
เซิฟที่จะเปิดใน ARR แบ่งเป็นเซิฟเก่าเลกาซี่ และเซิฟใหม่ แต่เลกาซี่หลายคนก็เลือกจะมาเริ่มเล่นในเซิฟใหม่เอี่ยมแทน ชาวโอเชียเนียเริ่มโหวตเซิฟที่จะเล่นกัน สูสีคู่สุดท้ายในโพลคือโจโคโบะกับทอนเบอรี่ แล้วหวยก็มาลงที่ทอนเบอรี่ เลยกลายเป็นเซิฟญี่ปุ่นของ English speaker นับแต่นั้นมา
.
พอถึงวัน 2.0 ออกจริง...เซิฟล่มเพราะผู้เล่นทั่วโลกพากันลอคอินเข้าเกมถล่มทลาย ตอนหลังโยชิดะเล่าในสารคดีของอาร์คิเปลว่า เขาไม่คิดเลยว่าจะมีคนสนใจ ARR มากขนาดนั้น คนเล่นเยอะกว่าที่เขาคาดไว้มาก มากจนเซิฟเวอร์ไม่มีทางรองรับไหว เขาต้องขอให้ฝ่ายขายหยุดขายและหยุดชิพเกมเพิ่มก่อน เพราะจะรับคนเล่นเพิ่มมากไปกว่านี้ไม่ได้แล้ว

2.0 ประสบความสำเร็จทั้งกระแสตอบรับและยอดขาย กลายเป็น comeback ที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดเรื่องนึงในวงการเกมแบบไม่มีข้อกังขา แต่สำหรับชาวไทย ดราม่าของเกมยังมีต่อไป สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นก็คือร้านเกมในไทยเอาแผ่น FFXIV ARR เข้ามาเป็นโซนยุโรป…....ทำให้คนที่เพิ่งจะมาเล่นตอน 2.0 และเล่นเบต้ามาแล้วด้วยไอดี NA เล่นต่อไม่ได้ ต้องไปสร้างตัวใหม่กันเลย
.
แถมยังมีปัญหาเซิฟเต็ม สร้างตัวใหม่ในทอนเบอรี่ไม่ได้อีก เพื่อนกลุ่มใหญ่ต้องลี้ภัยไปสร้างตัวที่เซิฟเวอร์การูด้า
.
เราก็เลยเล่นกะเพื่อนอีกไม่กี่คนในทอนเบอรี่ แต่ไม่เหงาเท่าไหร่เพราะคนเยอะมาก...ทุกแมพทุกเฟทแย่งกันตีไปหมด แม้ทุกคนจะแต่งตัวทุเรศ เพราะสมัยนั้นยังไม่มีระบบกลามัวร์ ได้ไรมาใส่ๆไป ไม่เข้าชุดกันเลย แต่ก็สนุกมาก ตอนไปถึง Coerthas นี่ฟินเลย ฉากใหมม่ หิมะะะ
.
ช่วงจบ ARR ตอนนั้นสองดันสุดท้ายมันยังไม่ใช่มีมแบบตอนนี้ ดันแปดคนสุดอลังการ แม้จะยาวโคตรๆ ยังจำความบ้านนอกได้คือเล่นดรากูนแล้วไม่เคยเจอสกอลาร์ เข้าแพรโตเรียมครั้งแรกสกอลาร์กางโล่คือตื่นเต้นมาก แปดคนแล้วเอฟเฟคต์มันเยอะ อู้หูอู้หาไปหมด
.
(ส่วนเพื่อนก๊วนผิดโซนนั้นกว่าจะโยกกลับมาทอนเบอรี่ได้คือตอนทำรีลิค Titan Hard แล้ว lol)
.
ตั้งแต่ ARR ออกในปี 2013 ก็ได้ติดตามการเติบโตของตัวละครรวมไปถึงการพัฒนาฝีมือของทีมงานมาเรื่อยๆ เราเล่นบ้างหยุดบ้าง ถ้านับสัดส่วนจำนวนเดือนเอาก็หยุดมากกว่าเล่น เป็นข้อดีนึงของเกมนี้ที่ชอบนะ ไม่เคยรู้สึกถูกผูกมัด (การไม่มีบ้านนั้นเป็นบุญ สาธุ)

พอถึงปี 2015 ก็ออกเอ็กแพนชั่นแรก Heavensward ทำออกมาดีมากจนตกใจ คุณภาพเนื้อเรื่องก้าวกระโดดอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ตอนสู้ KoTR ครั้งแรกเป็นหนึ่งในโมเมนต์ที่ประทับใจสุดของเกมนี้เลย สมัยนั้นยังถูก hold ด้วยลิมิตของ PS3 อยู่ แต่เอฟเฟคต์แค่นั้นก็อลังมากแล้ว ตอนกระจกแตกนี่ขนลุก

Stormblood ก็จบได้ดี เจอชินริวคือไฮป์จนมือเหงื่อแตก คนบอก SB ไม่ดีเท่า HW ก็อาจจะจริงส่วนเนื้อเรื่อง แต่พวกคอนเทนต์ต่อสู้เราว่า SB สตรองมาก เนื้อหาหลักช่วงแพทช์ของ SB ไม่น่าติดตามเท่าไหร่ พักเล่นไปยาวที่สุดคือช่วง 4.2 จนถึง 4.5 ตอนนั้นคิดว่าเกือบจะเลิกแล้ว ดีที่กลับมาทันเล่น Shadowbringers ตอน launch

สำหรับ Shadowbringers นี่พูดถึงบ่อยแล้ว คงไม่ต้องอธิบายความพีคในพีค ใครที่ได้เล่นแบบติดตามเนื้อเรื่องมาเหมือนกันคงเก็ตว่ามัน paid off ยังไง 5.0 คือ Best FF ของเราเลย

ก็ถือเป็นเกมที่เล่นนานที่สุดในชีวิต มีเพื่อนที่ดีหลายคนที่เราได้จากเกมนี้ ความทรงจำดีๆหลายอย่างก็เกี่ยวพันกับเกมนี้เช่นกัน และเรื่องของคุณไมดี้ ต้นแบบซีรีส์คุณพ่อแห่งแสงเป็นอะไรที่เตือนใจบ่อยๆว่าควรจะมีความสุขกับสิ่งที่ได้ทำ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องสำคัญอย่างการอยู่กับคนที่เรารัก หรือเรื่องเล็กๆน้อยๆอย่างการได้ทำงานอดิเรกที่ชอบ

ก็หวังว่าจะมีประสบการณ์ดีๆกับเกมนี้ต่อไปอีกในอนาคต จะกี่ปีก็ไม่รู้นะ โยยังทำเราก็จะเล่นต่อไป 😂 ก็หวังว่าใครที่โดนเราป้ายยามาก็จะได้รับประสบการณ์ดีๆจากเกมนี้ไปเช่นกันค่ะ

First time to Hong Kong and basically the main purpose to travel Hong Kong is to visit Disneyland (my first Disneyland). Unfortunately, the Disney Castle was in maintenance during our visit therefore I do not had the chance to snap a nice picture with it, how disappointing for a first timer who visit Disneyland.

WHERE WE STAYED:
Just Inn - 7/F, No. 23, Lock Road, Kowloon Hong Kong Hong Kong

- The lift was under maintenance during our 4 nights of stays, how unlucky. We had to climb the stairs everyday and with our luggage (for the first day and last day). The room was small, there is no space to walk around, but i believe this is the standard size we can ever get with the price since I saw from few documentaries about the land size problem the country is facing. Well, no much to complain, the staff was friendly too. Plus, is at the city center, is convenient for tourist to get subway to any destination.

THE BEST FOOD WE TRIED:
星林居雲南米線餐廳 (Sing Lum Khui Sour & Spicy Rice Noodle Restaurant)

- We had our dinner twice at this restaurant. It was surprisingly good especially if you appreciate spicy and sour.

We spent the day waiting for a hospital paper, making tough life (lunch) choices and making a vlog so that Shawn can successfully post a vlog every blue moon.

Brief history on my YouTube presence. I went to Vietnam in 2009 and filmed a bunch of short clips and vlogs because they helped me ease through the culture shock by having something to share with my friends when I came home. Then I came back to Vietnam by myself a year later in 2010 and traveled to 10 different cities and fell in love with Vietnam. A year prior, I hated it and didn't want to come back. In late 2011 I moved over with the intentions of staying for a year. This is when I started SoJournaling Vietnam travelogues or travel documentaries featuring specific cities. Then a year later I bought a smart phone (HTC One S) and started recording clips off it and called that series VietnaMoments, which I started to film friends like OldBoy off of. This was when my channel started to pick up some momentum. Then I switched channels and started monetizing in 2013 and in late 2014 I taped an episode of Bizarre Foods and producers encouraged me to keep going and make better videos. In January of 2015 was when I first bought real audio equipment and started taking the YouTube channel a lot more seriously. Here we are now. 100K subs here we come! Thank you everyone!
