YES, I had it REALLY BAD and even today, when I look back at my older pictures, my heart breaks 💔 because I can still feel the pain I went through back then. 😔

It’s easy for people to say that your skin doesn’t define you and I do believe in that. But being able to embrace it and have the confidence was honestly very difficult. 😣

My life and career revolves around the camera 📸 I used to put on thick foundation and concealer to “hide” behind my insecurities. I’d tell my cameraman to NEVER take close up shots of me. I won’t go to the gym during peak hours. I’d reject invitations to attend events. I wouldn’t even have eye contact with people because I felt like they were just looking at my skin.

Did it help my skin? Absolutely not. People often ask, how did your skin heal? The truth is when I stopped caring so much, that’s when it got better. I stopped caring about people’s opinion, I stopped applying lots of products and used only the bare basics, I stopped putting on makeup when I don’t need to, I stopped looking into the mirror so often, I stopped stressing out!

And that’s when my skin slowly recover. I do still get occasional breakouts especially when I’m on my period. But I don’t go crazy or stress out about it. I often think to myself, will I go through another terrible breakout? Probably.. If it happens, I hope i’ll know how to better deal with it..

For those who are struggling with acne or even weight issue, focusing on the problem will not solve it, but rather, focus on taking positive steps one day at a time. 🙌
