Not only @rainforestdiscoverycentre is one of the hot spots in Sabah for birdwatching but also a place to witness wildlife. If you are lucky, you might get to see Orangutans roaming around.

📍 Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sepilok
The Bristlehead Tower at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), Sepilok.
This whole place is a wonder for wildlife enthusiasts. Spotted orangutans, giant flying squirrel and many birds at this tower in RDC during the Borneo Bird Festival 2019.

Testing out the Animal AF on the new EOS R5 with the Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 II. Honestly speaking, I am no means a wildlife photographer so having an AF system that can help with focusing is always welcomed. I didn't really go in expecting much but as soon as I tried it on the first bird I saw in the zoo, I was blown away. Very little hunting and very few missed shots. The new Dual Pixel AF ii coupled with the Digic X processor is BOMB!
I think what shocked me the most was how it immediately picked up the eyes of the birds/animals despite the eye being very very tiny in the frame. Even when there were distractions in front of the subject, it picked up AND tracked extremely fast. Admittedly, the AF struggled a little when there was a fence in front of the animal but with a tap on the screen, the AF picked it up with ease.
You can set the AF to prioritise animals over people. If there are no animals in frame, the camera will focus on human faces/eyes instead. Fantastic stuff!
(I don't have an external recorded, so I couldn't record straight from the screen :( oh well.)

在發 Vlog 之前，先分享這趟尋找北極海鸚 PUFFIN 的片段, 看看這班圓圓胖胖和有一雙“無辜眼睛“的大咀鳥，有些人說他們其實就是「會飛的企鵝」，其實真的覺得有點像，牠們是我最喜歡的一種鳥類動物，同是屬於「療癒派」。從以前以為應該要去冰島／蘇格蘭找牠們，沒想到這個初夏因為來這裡幫客人拍攝的同時，可以讓我有一天很成功的見到牠們。法羅的魔力不單只是美景的壯觀，這裡的“大咀鳥“也同時是牠們的標誌之一，不過能見到牠們的季節不長，據說秋冬牠們就會飛往美洲，北歐都會要等到隔一年的春夏才能再見牠們一面，所以這次確是在最對的時間來了。
這次難得盛夏前來到法羅群島幫客人拍攝婚紗，開工前空出一天登上島嶼尋找牠們在山崖峭壁間的足跡，法羅天氣變幻莫測，跟冰島／蘇格蘭很像，難得這天天氣算十分穩定，當地人跟我說，只要當天是吹北風的話，天氣不會怎樣差，所以我們十分幸運，在島上走過一片山路，細看島上壯觀地型後，由一開始不太容易會見到 PUFFIN 飛過，到最後終於發現一個山邊角落，是牠們的聚集之地，沒想到，可以很近的距離見到牠們，牠們對人類不是很陌生的感覺，都是很放空的活在自己的世界，由於PUFFIN 早上到中午都會在大海中游泳捉魚吃，到了午後會常常見到牠們飛回自己的洞口休息，亦會見到牠們口裡還擔著一堆小魚，看到牠們圓圓的體型，感覺是吃滿飽的。
法羅到處都是跟大自然連在一起，就連羊都是到處走，也好像一點都不太在意跟人類靠近，有些山路即使是窄，羊都還是只會顧著吃草，不會理會你。特別喜歡這裡的 Turf House草屋，都是保處的很好，很像停留在數百年前一樣。
