【世界人權日X臺灣🇹🇼】宗教自由
Did you know there are over 33,000 places of worship on Taiwan’s 36,000 square kilometers of land, according to statistics compiled by the Ministry of the Interior? That’s one temple or church per square kilometer on average!
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the #UN General Assembly in Paris in 1948, emphasizes freedom of religion for all and in present-day #Taiwan, everyone is able to practice their faith freely, be they Buddhists, Taoists, Christians, Muslims or whatever else.
Taiwan is ranked number two among 232 countries for its religious diversity index and this has been recognized in the international community. In July of this year, for example, Taiwan’s representative to the US, Stanley Kao, was invited by the #US to attend the inaugural Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in #Washington, along with foreign ministers from over 40 countries and representatives of civic groups from over 80 countries. We’re also striving to host a regional meeting to advance religious freedom in #Asia, so that the world can bear witness to the high degree of religious freedom in Taiwan.

不說不知道，說出來嚇一跳💪，臺灣是世界上寺廟或教會/教堂密度最高的國家之一！根據 內政大小事-內政部統計，在臺灣3萬6千平方公里的土地上，有將近3萬3千多個提供宗教信徒膜拜、聚會的場所，也就是說～平均每一平方公里，就有一座寺廟或教會/教堂😎！
而且臺灣不只是廟/教堂多，連種類都多~😛 在全球232個國家中，臺灣宗教的多樣性指數，排在堂堂第2名！ 不論你是臺灣公民還是外籍人士，不論你信仰佛教、道教、伊斯蘭教、基督教、天主教……（教多不及備載），在臺灣都能享有平等的宗教信仰自由~😉
外交部也一直努力讓世界看到臺灣宗教自由的盛況，像是 駐美國台北經濟文化代表處 Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the US高碩泰代表出席在美國舉辦的 #促進宗教自由部長級會議，或是爭取在臺灣舉行促進宗教自由的亞洲區域會議。臺灣的宗教自由，值得我們驕傲❤❤❤
