Anyone noticed that Arielle’s hair is shorter? Her last hair cut was 2 years ago and they were just trims because she had so little hair then. It’s the first time we snipped off so much, it’s so much neater and I love it! Thank you, Arielle, for trusting mommy to give you that hair cut!
Character Transformation is Progressive
“But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 WEB)
The thing about character is that it takes time to change. The transformation is progressive. For the world, they try their best by the strength of the flesh to change after experiencing setbacks or if they have something they really desire.
For born-again believers, we have the Holy Spirit who transforms us as we go through life. He teaches us with God’s word, shapes us through experiences, giving us victory in Jesus’ name.
If you have been cultivating a relationship with the Lord in the past decade, you can look back and see how much you’ve grown in character.
Much of the transformation comes from the renewal of your mind through receiving God’s word. In the past you used to believe something that was fleshly, but now you know and believe the truth, and that has set you free from certain strongholds and bondages.
Like an expert farmer, God prunes you so that you become even more fruitful, able to bear the fruits of the Spirit in greater measure.
““I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” (John 15:1-3 WEB)
Every unfruitful branch of wrong belief is snipped off to make way for growth through right beliefs. Sometimes the godly sorrow which God’s word produces is painful to endure, but you come out healthier and more beautiful.
Sometimes people around you do not pay attention to your transformation. They stubbornly view you in the same way as ten years ago, speaking in reference to things you did in the past. However, God knows, and you know that you have been transformed. Seek not man’s approval because that is just vanity. It serves no purpose except to delight your flesh.
“He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:3 WEB)
Time will tell, as the fruits you bear become so drastically better in quality and quantity. It will become clear as day that you are no longer that dried-up, naked tree from before. You are a tree planted by the waters, fearing no heat or drought, producing fruits unceasingly in its season!
God makes everything beautiful in its time. Believers fall into frustration, burnout and turn their backs on God because they do not understand the truth of “God’s Appointed Time”. Again, after 4 years, we revisit Dr Razak's clinic to get Ilon's circumcision done. Still not used to seeing our baby getting snipped, we try our best not to cry. Poor fella.
But be rest assured that he was ok. Dr Razak had used a local anaesthesia and the crying was only because in order for the procedure to be done, Ilon’s leg was strapped down so there’s less movement and that was uncomfortable for Ilon who normally prefers lying down on his tummy instead.
Half an hour later, there was some swelling but 3 hours later, it went down.
I just had to ensure I placed the cream (which is actually eye ointment) over his penis over the next couple of days. As predicated by the Dr, the wound healed beautifully. Praise God. No fever, no swelling. No pus. Dr Razak is one the best children surgeon in the country.
To those not familiar, “sunat Khitan” or circumcision is a recommended practice for male Muslims. Those days, the sunat happens when the boy is 6-9 years old and this is so the penis is easier to clean when a bit of the foreskin is removed.
Research shows it’s less traumatic when the circumcision is done from 0-3months old.

スモアタルト
直径7cmのタルト台 6個分
材料：
タルト台 6個
チョコレート(刻む) 100g
生クリーム 大さじ4
■マシュマロクリーム
卵白 2個分
グラニュー糖 80g
コーンスターチ 小さじ2
バニラエッセンス 少々
作り方：
1.ボウルにチョコレート、生クリームを入れ、600Wのレンジで50秒加熱する。
2.取り出してよくかき混ぜ、タルト台に流し入れ、冷蔵庫で15分ほど冷やす。
3.ボウルに卵白を入れ、ハンドミキサーでもったりとするまで2-3分泡立てる。砂糖を3回に分けて加え、ツノが立つまで泡立てる。
4.コーンスターチ、バニラエッセンスを加え、ハンドミキサーの低速でさらに1分ほど泡立てる。
5.(4)を(2)の表面に渦巻き状に絞り出し、バーナーで全体に焼き目を付けたら、完成！

S'mores Tart
Servings: 6
INGREDIENTS
100 grams chocolate, chopped
4 tablespoons heavy cream
6 mini tart shells
2 large egg whites
80 grams granulated sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
PREPARATION
In a small bowl, combine the chocolate and heavy cream. Microwave at 600W for 50 seconds, then stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
Divide the ganache between the tart shells. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric hand mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form. Add half of the granulated sugar and continue to beat on high speed until stiff peaks form. Add the rest of the sugar and beat until the whites are shiny and fluffy.
Add the cornstarch and vanilla extract and beat to combine.
Transfer the marshmallow cream to a piping bag fitted with a round tip or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off.
Pipe the cream over the chocolate in the tart shells.
Using a kitchen torch, toast the marshmallow cream until golden brown.
