With the February release of its #foldable #Galaxy_Z_Flip, #Samsung has maintained its pole position in the foldable market, thanks in large part to developments by #SamsungDisplayCo. (SDC) in #foldable_panel technology.
To expand its market influence, #SDC is expanding its production capacity for #foldable_display_panels in hopes that it can satisfy both internal and external demands, in turn achieving the dual purpose of maintaining SDC’s preexisting market advantage and utilizing its current flexible #panel capacity.
In anticipation for the expected popularity of #foldable_phones, SDC isn’t ruling out the possibility of continuously expanding its flexible panel capacity. Samsung is also reportedly resuming the construction of its Asan-based A5 fab in response to the expected size increase of foldable phones and the subsequent doubling in capacity demand.
