The Impact of Mask Distribution and Promotion

Overall, the core intervention induced 29 out of every 100 people to wear masks, increased physical distancing and reduced the number of people with symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections by 9 percent. Surgical masks were especially effective in reducing symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections and reduced symptomatic infections in people 60+ by 35 percent.
In villages that received the intervention, mask use increased by 29 percentage points (from 13 percent in the comparison villages to 42 percent in treatment villages). Mask use increased most in mosques (37 percentage points). A pilot and our scale-up activities suggest that in-person public reinforcement is a critical part of the intervention.

The difference between APR and APY
A lot of people here are staking their crypto, so I assume most of you have encountered these terms before, but a lot of people don't really understand the difference between the two. As such I thought I would explain the difference as simply as possible.
**APR = Annual Percentage Rate**
This is the amount you can approximately expect the initial amount of money to get in interest over one year. For example, if you staked $1000 worth of ETH and got an APR of 6%, you would expect to have about $1,060 by the end of the year:
$1000 x (1.06) = $1060
However, this is assuming that you only get one payment at the end of the year of $60 for a year's worth of interest, and we all know that by staking crypto, you get payments more often than that. Some get interest payments every week, or even every day. Now let's assume you receive interest payments daily. The amount of interest you get every day is the APR divided by 365, since there are 365 days in a year. So your daily interest rate is:
6%/365 days = 0.01643836% every day in interest
So after one day, you will have:
$1000 x (1 + 0.06/365) = $1,000.16438
Now, on the second day, it will give you the same 0.01643836% in daily interest, but it won't use the $1000 you put in initially, it will give you interest based on how much you currently have staked, which is now $1,000.16438 after one day. So after you get your interest payment on the second day, you will have:
$1,000.16438 x (1 + 0.06/365) = $1,000.32879
It will then use the number you have after two days to calculate the interest you will receive for the third day. Notice how every day, the amount of money you have is increasing, and as a result the amount of money you receive in interest increases every day. This is called *compound interest*, and that's where APY comes in.
**APY = Annual Percentage Yield**
This is the amount of interest you receive in a year taking into account compound interest. In other words, this is the how much interest you will receive taking into account you will be getting payments throughout the year. So if you have an APR like we said of 6%, and you receive interest payments daily, your APY is calculated as such:
APY = (1 + 0.06/365)^365 - 1 = 6.18313106779%
So in one year, you're actually getting 6.18313106779% in interest, not just the 6% that the APR said you were getting. So after one year you would have:
$1000 x (1.0618313106779) = $1,061.83
**To Sum Up**
Amount you will have after one year according to APR:
$1060
Amount you will have after one year according to APY:
$1,061.83
As you can see the numbers are not the same. APY just gives you a more accurate indicator as to how much you can expect to receive in interest by the end of the year.
**So which is better: 6% APR or 6% APY?**
If you noticed, the percentage I calculated in APY is higher than the percent APR said you would be getting:
6% APR = 6.18313106779% APY (with daily payments)
So, if you have the option to choose between 6% APR and 6% APY with the same frequency of payments in a year (in this case daily payments), always choose 6% APR, since that comes out to be higher than 6% APY.

All the Philadelphia 76ers had to do was win, and
home-court advantage was theirs for at least the first round of the
playoffs.
Instead, the 76ers had one of their worst first quarters of the
season and never quite recovered. Now home-court advantage rides on
the very last game of the season.
"I never thought it would come to the last game to decide our
playoff spot," Allen Iverson said after the 76ers lost to the
Chicago Bulls 115-106 Tuesday night.
The 76ers' third straight loss dropped them into a tie with
Indiana for third place in the Eastern Conference, and it also
clinched the Atlantic Division title for the New Jersey Nets. Both
teams wrap up their regular seasons Wednesday night.
A loss could drop Philadelphia to as low as fifth in the East.
"When you lose a ballgame, especially to a team not going to
the playoffs, and we're trying to get home-court advantage, that
opens the window to say a lot of negative things about your own
team," Iverson said.
Actually, nothing more really needed to be said. The box score
summed it up: The 76ers fell behind 35-18 in the first quarter,
when they shot 24 percent from the floor.
"That's about as bad a first quarter as we played," coach
Larry Brown said. ``We had no energy, and took awful shots."
Though Iverson matched his season high with 42 points,
Philadelphia shot 38 percent. Eric Snow was the only other starter
in double figures, with 17. The final score might have been even
worse if the 76ers hadn't gone 40-of-44 from the line, including
17-of-18 by Iverson.
They couldn't find an answer for Eddy Curry, either. Curry made
his first eight shots on his way to a career-high 31 points. He
might have scored 40 if he hadn't been in foul trouble.
The Bulls finished the season 30-52; Curry ended up shooting
.580 from the field, the highest percentage for the Bulls since
1982-83, when Orlando Woolridge put up the same figure.
Jamal Crawford matched his career best with 33, and the Bulls
shot 63 percent, including 10-of-15 from 3-point range. The team's
30 victories are nine more than last season, and just six fewer
than it managed in the two previous seasons combined.
"As a team, we just wanted to end on a good note and get our
goal of 30 wins," said Crawford, who also had eight assists.
"It's exciting for us."
The Bulls have Curry and Crawford to thank for this one. The two
opened the game with their own 13-4 run, and the 76ers were
overwhelmed. Curry had a monster first quarter, going 8-for-8 and
matching the entire Philadelphia squad with 18 points. He didn't
miss a shot until there was 6:30 left in the first half, and he
finished the half with 24 points on 11-of-12 shooting.
"When you are out of the playoffs, it is easy to come in and
not give your best effort," Bulls coach Bill Cartwright said. "I
thought our guys have been terrific and showed a lot of character.
They showed great spirit."
Philadelphia trailed by as much as 17 early in the third, but
Iverson scored six straight points to pull them to 94-90 with 7:24
left in the game.

Five techniques you can use to trail your stop-loss rides.
SUBSCRIBE: https://bit.ly/2MsGjRR
If you want more actionable trading tips and strategies, go to https://www.tradingwithrayner.com
0:19 Trailing Stop Loss Technique #1
The first technique that I want to share with you is moving average. By now, I think that you should be familiar that moving average is something that you can use to trail you stop-loss, so, for example, let's say that you went long on the break of this highs over here. The market break of this high over here, and you can trail your stop-loss using this moving average. This is the trending period moving average. So you only exit the trade when the price breaks and closes below it.
2:00 Trailing Stop Loss Technique #2
The second technique is the market structure. So for those of you who are price action traders, you can use the structure of the markets to trail your stop-loss. Here is an example, we can see over here, let's say for example, again you long the break out over here, the market hits higher, retraces right. This is the swing-low, which we can reference to set your stop-loss, so your stop-loss won't go below your swing-low. The market makes a new high, makes a new swing-low, this swing-low you can reference your stop-loss, the market makes a new high, retraces - makes a new swing-low, you can reference it as your stop-loss. The market makes a new swing high, and then it retraces, and finally over here, breaks and closes below the swing low over here, where you exit the trade.
3:54 Trailing Stop Loss Technique #3
The third technique I want to share with you is percentage change. This is very straightforward. Very useful for stock traders. This stock: Alibaba, you can see that it made a high of $110 so what it can do is that it can just use a percentage change to trail a stop-loss.
5:00 Trailing Stop Loss Technique #4
The fourth technique I want to share with you is Average True Range. A very powerful way to trail your stop-losses. Well, how it works, is that, ignore this indicator for a while. So by right now, you know what the A-T-R indicator is, its a measurement of volatility in a market. So if you pull out your A-T-R indicator, it will give you a value. So let's say for example the A-T-R indicator currently shows you, let's say 100 pips for euro dollar.
7:20 Trailing Stop Loss Technique #5
And, lastly right, you can use the previous candle high/low to trail your stop-loss. Let me share with you an example, so if you recall bitcoin, it has been moving pretty strongly over the last of, I'll say 2017. You can see that the market went parabolic over here, the range of the candles got larger and larger. So where you could have trailed your stop-losses is that if the price breaks and close below the previous day low, you'll exit the trade.
A quick recap, the first technique I shared with you is to use the moving average to trail a stop-loss. Or you can use market structure referencing from the swing-high and swing-low to trail your stop-loss. You can use percentage change as well right, if the price drops x percent, you exit the trade. You can use the average true range, slash chandelier stop, to trail your stop-loss, which is based on the volatility of the market. And, last but not least, you can trail based on the previous candle high or low, which is very useful when the market has gone parabolic. Okay, so I have come to the end of this video.
