Poor workout habits
⚠️ Exercise abruptly
Due to the excitement from the Olympics, some of us might start running marathons, sign up for fencing, or go swimming. Those who seldom exercise might risk damaging their muscles and ligaments if they engage in intensive sports all of a sudden. It is important to take it slow for a start!
⚠️ Exercise excessively
It is good to exercise, but we must know our limits. When we feel dizzy, experience chest tightness, breathing difficulties, appetite loss, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and continuous pain on the body, or become irritable, we should reconsider the way we exercise.
⚠️ Overlook the importance of keeping the body warm
This is a bad habit especially during winter. Some people tend to wear thin clothes, thinking that they will sweat after a workout session. It is important to keep the body warm because we might catch a cold more easily when the pores are expanded when we sweat.
⚠️ Exercise with an empty stomach
Instead of having breakfast, some of us want to spend time exercising before leaving for work. Exercising with an empty stomach might cause us to feel weak and dizzy because our blood sugar levels are low. If need be, drink at least a cup of rice water before working out.
⚠️ Indulge in a sumptuous meal after working out
We have the tendency to reward ourselves with good food after a round of strenuous exercise. We should eat appropriately to replenish the nutrients and calories, but our diets should be carbohydrate- and protein-based. Savoring deep fried and greasy foods would only defeat the purpose of working out.

So, now we have this adorable new baby to adore and love and smoother with our kisses.
It’s easy (when we’re looking through our thousands of baby photos) to forget that while we may “look” like we’ve pretty much recovered, (after we tuck our flapping belly skin into our pants) we are far from it.
Apparently 50% of women suffer from back pain after delivering their baby. 50%!!
Our uterus expands during pregnancy and our abs are separated which pulls the lower spine forward, straining out back.
Also, carrying the baby, picking up toys, changing diapers, and bad posture also doesn’t help with the achy back.
Remember all those fun hormones surging through our body to help us loosen up the ligaments and joints so that we can push out a baby from “down there”?.... Yeah, those are unfortunately, still keeping our joints loose and, jiggly?
Things will hopefully get better and back to “normal” around 6 months, but here are a few things which can help in the meantime:
Husband massages. If husbands aren’t available. Wife massages. Boyfriend massages. Girlfriend massages. Colleague massages. Massage massages. Chair massages. Roller massages. Massages. Just massages. Oh they feel so darn good.
Move it, move it. Walk. swim. Dance. Stretch. Walk. Walk some more. Just move a bit. Even at home you can do it! I know that’s probably the last thing you want to do when you’re feeling sore and in pain, but moving around helps.
Rest if you can. I know. I know. When is there time?! And isn’t that contrary to what I just said above?! Well, you gotta make time for both. Moving. And resting.
Use a body pillow or pillow in between your legs when you sleep. It helps align the hips and just feels good.
And probably most importantly, hold your baby properly. This is key. We’re either breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, holding, cuddling, rocking, soothing, changing diapers, bending over, leaning, and overall just straining our back muscles. A way to prevent further injury is to make sure you have the correct posture and are using the correct muscles to do all of the above.
These are just a few basic tips to help ease some of the pains we have. Mommy,

Three weeks ago, I thought it was just a minor ankle sprain. At the time, I went to the emergency room immediately and got an X-ray to confirm that nothing was fractured. Three weeks later, my ankle was still very swollen and bruised, and it hurt to walk. My friends thought it looked a bit serious and suggested that I go for an MRI. At first I was a bit hesitant…. I mean the doctor said it would get better on its own in two-three weeks. But for a peace of mind, I went obediently. Fortunately, I found out that my anterior talofibular ligament was completely torn, and it seemed that other ligaments were also damaged. The doctor advised me to get an anthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgery. Otherwise, even if I get better on my own, recovery could possibly be only 60%, and become a chronic sprained ankle problem.
In order to have a better chance of recovery, and to be able to continue to sing and dance on stage and bounce and fly on the court, we decided to get the surgery. So, tomorrow is surgery day. This is my first time having an operation, so I do feel a little nervous, and I really hope everything goes well! The more important thing afterwards is the physical rehabilitation process. I’m hoping that in two or three months, I will dance better, run faster, and kick ass on the tennis court! 😜😜😜💪💪💪 Please pray for me! 🙏🙏🙏

Training and Nutrition Around The Menstrual Cycle with Ben Siong
A really informative chat with fitness and health expert Ben Siong. For all my sisters, who have always questioned bout why they have irregular periods, why they bloat, why they have painful periods, what's the possible cause for bleeding more than two weeks here's a video that will help explain those questions!
The human body is very complicated and my dear sisters, ours is even more complicated cause we have a thing called the period. Ben is one of the few coaches who takes the time to not only understand the physiology of the body but also the mind which is incredibly crucial. I do hope you take away valueable information from this video, because Ben's had shared a lot of his expertise during this 1 hour. :)
Questions Timestamps:
1:50 We hear a lot from old folks that women shouldn’t lift lower body higher than stomach for optimal reproductive system. Truth or myth?
8:25 Should we train during period?
10:15 Pre period - what to eat to avoid bloating (if ur vegan or vegetarian) so u still have the energy to lift weights?
15:16 What exercises to do pre period so that during menses it’s less painful?
16:55 Why do some cycles end quicker for instance as quick as 4 days? Should she consult the gynae?
21:00 My Personal encounter of bleeding 4 months straight, what would have been the response for excessive bleeding?
24:00 Brief chat on understanding PCOS and PCO
29:27 In a paper "Preliminary Evidence for a Window of Increased Vulnerability to Sustain a Concussion in Females: A Brief Report" the author states that declining or low levels of estrogen and progesterone (specifically in the late luteal phase and first two days of menstruation) can reduce neuroprotection and blunt recovery time from traumatic brain injury symptoms (i.e. concussions). Would those decreased levels of hormones, and reduced neuroprotection also impact CNS recovery? And would female athletes have to then avoid highly taxing sessions/peaking periods during this time frame?
37:11 I've read that lower back pain during menstruation is caused by the uterus swelling which can create pressure on the uterosacral ligaments and lead to pain in the lower back and pelvis. Is this accurate? If so should females generally avoid deadlifts/front squats/lower back intensive exercises during this period? Should they be left out entirely, or replaced by something else?
38:21 Besides the supplementation of magnesium and iron, are there other ways we should change the way we eat around our cycles?
39:48 Personally, I do workout during this period of time & it does make me feel better.
However, I realised that if I perform very high intensity workout on the first two days of my period, I tend to have lesser flow for the month. I feel completely well & healthy but I’m not sure if that’s something I should be worried about
41:53: I have irregular period, in that case what type of training and nutrition I should opt for coach?

In this video, I've visited my partnership clinic to have one of our signature facial treatment call MPRP, this therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, MPRP injections use each individual patient's own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.
You can check out our clinic if you want to try out any facial or treatment, we have plenty.
Hope you enjoyed my video, remember to smash the like and subscribe button! XOXO
XOXO

SUBSCRIBE for new videos every week! https://www.youtube.com/user/joannasohofficial Nowadays, our lifestyles are causing us to have really BAD POSTURE from poor sitting habits such as slouching, sitting in front of the computer for an extended period of time, constantly texting and looking down at your phone, carrying really heavy bags or ladies, wearing high heels 24/7.
WATCH this video to learn the 4 common types of bad postures and how you can change it!
1) Lumbar Lordosis
2) Thoracic Kyphosis or Hunched back
3) Sway Back
4) Forward Head
BAD POSTURE
When our spine is positioned in an unnatural alignment, the curves are exaggerated, which can be due to tight or weak muscles, resulting in bad posture. Uncorrected posture, overtime can lead to chronic pains.
GOOD POSTURE
A good posture is when you hold your body upright where the least strain is placed on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement.
It is extremely important to have a good posture! When you have proper posture, it improves bodily alignment, eliminates back and neck pain, improves circulation, improves digestion, improves breathing, makes you look taller, and also makes you look and feel confident.
