Was so busy traveling yesterday that I didn’t get a chance to upload the art of the day. Boat on water 🛶🌊. It was also during dinner that we were able to see the news broadcasted on TV on the recent events happening in Hong Kong. Our table went silent. I still don’t really know what to say to be honest. My heart is touched by the thousands doing all they can to protect their country and also breaking for them at the same time. Who is going to protect them? Lots of questions will remain unanswered. Only time can tell. It brings me to a quote I once heard. Love is like water. We can fall in it, drown in it and yet we cannot live without it. May this love water us all so we can grow and learn. So I decided to lift a paintbrush again. It started off when I was in Ikea. I saw a lighthouse painting and I was close to getting it until I realised that I could also paint my own paintings. I don’t know how long this painting phase will last. You guys know I am notorious for jumping into something and being super passionate and then completely abandoning it. However, when it comes to painting I always come back... like as if I’m returning home ☺️. I have always been an acrylic painter. I don’t know why but I’ve been drawn to watercolour. As somebody will zero patience, this medium has challenged me indeed. It’s taught me to take my time and enjoy the moment. This watercolour splash piece is inspired by an artist named Svetlana Wittman. Instead, I have it my twist and used pastel colours. I can’t explain how much peace I feel within each time I lift a paintbrush. So I’m challenging myself to do a watercolour piece everyday for the next five days.
