時間估計是80~90年代的日本，陸上自衛隊74式戰車於東富士演習場畑岡地區演訓紀錄影片
74式戰車由三菱重工打造，搭載105公厘L7A1戰車砲，可使用多款穿甲砲彈，射控有紅外線夜視裝置、雷射測距儀、光學觀測儀，可行徑間射擊和夜間射擊，並搭載大型白光/紅外線探照燈，可搭配紅外線夜視功能，74式戰車為應付日本多山地形，採用油氣壓式懸吊系統，可進行前後左右不同程度的俯仰動作
雖然這款戰車地位已經被90式取代，但是價格昂貴還需要74式戰車的數量維持，多次進行改良，直到2010年10式戰車的出現，74式才開始除役

Some of these tanks were also camouflaged with grass and fitted with MILES (Multiple integrated laser engagement system, a device they used in a mockup exercise that simulates the tank firing and hit without firing a live rounds) on top of the turret and the gun mantlet.
Aside from having the advantage of adapting into sloped terrain and providing a smooth recoil absorbtion, the Hydropneumatic suspension system also benefits the crewmen operating the tank by easing the process of loading ammunition into the tank. Since there is no loader access hatch (like the one in Centurion and Leopard 1), the loading procedure for the tank involve taking the ammunition up and into the loader's hatch.
The suspension enables the tank to be lowered down with ground clearance of approximately 20 centimeters. This enable the crew to transition the ammunition from outside into the ammunition rack inside the loader compartment with ease.
