古往今來，幾乎所有的宗教都曾涉入醫療，
而患者在面對疾病時，往往既求醫，也拜神。
　　儘管專業醫者時常視宗教醫療為迷信，但對病人來說，結合信仰慰藉的醫療方式或許更有助於緩解、消減心理上的焦慮與不安，甚至強化痊癒的信心，所以，宗教醫療一直是民眾擇醫的重要選項，而宗教在醫療史上也具有特殊的意義。

Religion and Medicine
　　Throughout history almost every religion has used medicine to promote its faith, and each religion has a distinct view of disease and approaches to treatment. Believers often seek religious guidance to help cope with diseases. Although medical practitioners tend to see religious medicine as no more than superstition, patients themselves nevertheless regard medicine backed by religious belief as an effective measure to relieve anxiety and unease, or even strengthen confidence in their recovery, which is why many people, past and present, have chosen this path.

「本草」是中國古代藥物學的總稱。
包含了 草、穀、菜、果、木、蟲、鱗、介，以及 禽、獸、金石、水、土、火……等。醫者據患者的病象、病症，以本草組成單味藥或配製複方，對症下藥。
　　七世紀後，中國醫籍與醫學知識也大規模傳入日本；十五世紀開始，中、朝醫藥文化交流亦日趨頻繁。之後日韓兩國更陸續湧現參照中國醫藥典籍，編寫纂輯而成的本草與方書。在特展的「百草千金」單元中觀眾將可一窺古代藥物學的世界。壽而康特展的展期將會在6月30日結束（要看請把握時間！）

【Picking Herbs】Medical Recipes and Prescriptions
　　Bencao, or "materia medica," is the umbrella term for pharmacology in ancient China and can be divided into classes including cao (herbal plants), gu (grains), cai (vegetables), guo (fruits), mu (trees), chong (insects, amphibians and reptiles), lin (fishes) and jie (animals with a shell) as well as qin (fowls), shou (beasts), jinshi (metals and minerals), shui (water), tu (earth), huo (fire), fuqi (textiles and tools) and ren (humans). Medical practitioners would look at the patients' symptoms and make prescriptions using one or more ingredients.
　　Starting in the 7th century, Japan received an influx of medical texts and knowledge from China, and beginning in the 15th century, interaction between China and Korea in the medical field also stepped up. As a result of this exchange, Japan and Korea started to turn out pharmacological compendia and medical texts based on recipes from Chinese medical books. This section takes visitors into the world of ancient pharmacology by showcasing medical classics including Jingshi Zhenglei Daguan Bencao (Pharmacopoeia of the Daguan Reign) and Bencao Gangmu (The Compendium of Materia Medica), as well as precious artifacts such as illustrations of herbal medicine and horse bezoars, which were ingredients in Chinese medicine. In addition, Japanese texts including Yakushushō (Annotations of Medical Plants) and Honzō Wamyō (Japanese Names of Medical Herbs), as well as Korean titles such as Uibang Yuchwi (Classified Collection of Medical Prescriptions) and Hyangyak Jibseongbang (Compendium of Folk Medical Prescriptions) are testament to the far-reaching influence and dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine.
　　「本草」は、中国古代の薬物学の総称で、草、穀、野菜、果物、木、虫、鱗、介（貝）および禽（鳥）、獣、金石、水、土、火、服器（衣料・器）、人などの部類を包括しています。医者は患者の外面に現れる現象や兆候を基に、本草の組成を以て単味薬、或いは複数の薬剤を調合します。七世紀以降、非常に多くの漢方医学の書籍と医学の知識が日本に伝来しました。十五世紀からは、中国や朝鮮の医薬文化の交流も日増しに頻繁になりました。日韓両国は中国の医薬書を参考にして、本草と医薬書を続々と編纂、編集しました。当コーナーでは、《経史證類大観本草》、《本草綱目》など医師の経典、及び採薬図、馬宝など珍奇な文物を通して、皆様を古代薬物学の世界へとご案内します。同時にまた日本で編纂された《薬種抄》、《本草和名》や朝鮮の《医方類聚》、《郷薬集成方》から、中国伝統医学が東南アジアに与えた影響力と伝播の軌跡をご紹介いたします。
