The first step is to identify your energy 🙌🏻 - what are you feeling at the moment? Are you angry? Anxious? Content?
Even though the emotions are placed in three different energy levels, it is not unusual to feel few emotions from other groups. If you identify with this, you may want to implement the type of activity that fits what you are feeling.
These are some of the activities that proved to be helpful 👇🏻
High energy: This is a simple breathing exercise you can try anywhere. Breath quietly through the nose for 4 seconds. Hold your breath for 7 seconds. Exhale forcefully through the mouth, pursing the lips and making a “whoosh” sound for 8 seconds. Start with four cycles to feel the effects, though you should do no more than eight reps in one sitting.
Grounded: Study a photograph, perhaps the photo at the top of this post. Close your eyes and try to recreate it in your mind. When you’ve got it, challenge yourself to add in other senses. What sounds are you hearing? What smells? And what feeling does the image evoke?
Low energy: Yoga is one such way to increase physical activity and combat fatigue. Most yoga asanas do not require special equipment and can be quickly done at home, provided an experienced yoga instructor oversees your practice. Three Yoga poses that successfully help with this is: Bhujangasana (cobra pose), Dhanurasana (bow pose), Tadasana (mountain pose).
However, I highly encourage you to research a little more to find the suitable one for you. I also want to add that if you are feeling high or low energy, please don't be too hard on yourself. We are figuring out life; hence it is not out of the ordinary to feel in a certain way. As long you are willing to take care of yourself, you are doing great 🌻💖

I did not enjoy yoga at first, probably because slow flow yoga makes me feel impatient. Sitting still with my legs crossed and eyes closed on the mat was a challenge to me! Every minute felt like an hour. I always found myself peeking around, worried if I’ve missed any instruction.
It all changed when I met @evie.wong and this place has become my holy spot for the past 1 year. I like the “me” when I’m practicing yoga. It brings me into the present moment.
As I keep practicing, I realized that one of the most amazing parts of yoga is that it is a journey. It is not about fancy poses, not about touching your toes, it is what you learn on the way down. Everybody practicing is doing that “practicing”. It doesn’t matter how well I do the poses day to day, what matters is that I move in a way that feels good for my body on that particular day. My body might not be the same everyday, and so does my mat practice. What I learned from yoga was it’s important to respect and embrace my weakness.
It’s been a wonderful journey, filled with learning, growing and developing my soul, mind and body. And the journey is still going on.

Ok ? here’s my mini-story on lower backs~long time ago (not soooo long, but long), my late grandmother would tell me to sit up straight, stop hunching your back, stop sitting in front of the TV watching cartoons all day - you’ll have backaches - mini-me, stubborn me - never listens.
Here I am today sharing a lower back yoga sequence cause - I sit a lot, more than moving a lot anyway, and all this sitting and hunching at my phone and laptop has definitely brought with it - lower back pains (and tight hips-but that’s not going to be in this video today). In any case, pain in the lower back can seriously affect your mood and your day.
So, the lower back is super important for us to maintain our posture, reduce stiffness and speed up the healing process. How do we protect and remove the tensions to get these benefits?
These yoga poses can offer great relief for the pain and provide great preventative care for the future. Here are a few yoga poses to ease lower back pain and relieve that dull sensation.
Sequence:
Centering: 3 minutes + include breathing practice of your choice
Warming Up: Surya Namaskar Classical or Surya Namaskar B, see my videos below for the Surya Namaskar options.

Hey everyone! Since most of us are staying safely at home, do notice that by sitting for to long you might develop back pain? Not to mention gain weight! So if you are sitting for a prolonged period of time it’s time to get up and get moving.
Do you sit for a prolonged period of time? If so, then hip opener poses will benefit you massively. A tight hip may result to increased lower back pain. When your hips are tight, this may cause misalignment, affecting your back, knees, and even your feet. When practicing hip opener poses, you are giving your hips more strength and flexibility which can re-align your lower body for greater strength and mobility!
