Enjoy the last day of the holiday and we need to wait until February for the next long holiday - that’s the LUNAR NEW YEAR 🧧

We have made a video earlier in Dec about a festival that is even more important than the Lunar New Year in Hong Kong - that’s the Winter Solstice (冬至), which falls on either 21st/ 22nd December.

We even have a saying "冬大過年" (Winter Solstice is an more important festival than the Lunar New Year). People still need to go to work on that day but everyone will gather together for the reunion dinner at night. Check out we prepared for this super important day and that’s basically how we prepare for all Chinese festivals - wake up early to get the ingredients for the reunion dinner.

This year’s Winter Solstice (冬至) would be very different as we might not be able to gather with our relatives for the family dinner (and so do Christmas 😢)

The first time in so many years that my relatives would not come over my place for the reunion dinner plus restaurants have to be closed by 6pm.

Winter Solstice is very important day in Hong Kong, we even have a saying "冬大過年" (Winter Solstice is a more important day than the Lunar New Year). I hope my vlog can be published by today so that I can show you how locals prepare for this day!

Enjoy the time with your family! Stay safe, stay healthy! Hope that we can gather for the reunion dinner during the Lunar New Year.

PS.: Always have your mask on! Remember your nose 👃 has to be covered too.
