I just lost a $100K deal that I've been working on in the last a couple weeks.
We've had a couple of paid consultations on the phone and this successful entrepreneur wanted me to be his advisor for a more long-term basis.
I've clearly communicated expectations, the way I work, and how much I charge.
He has said more than once I am THE MAN and the perfect expert to help him to take his business to the next level.
He's making a couple mil a year with low-ticket offers (less than $3K) but can't seem to get his clients to upgrade and invest at a higher level.
When it comes to making the financial committment, suddenly all kinds of weird reasons (excuses) show up.
What can you learn from my experience?
1) Even the best of best can't close 100% of the time. I certainly can't. Over the years, I've probably "lost" way more deals than I actually closed. The nice thing about selling high-ticket is you don't need a lot of clients to do well. Very well.
Just to give you an idea, out of the massive amounts of private messages, comments, emails I get EVERY DAY, I end up working with less than 0.1% of the people who ask for my help.
That alone is enough to provide the income and lifestyle that I want.
You don't need everybody, you just need the right somebody.
2) Knowing when you're selling high-ticket, the sales cycle is usually longer. you're not selling a damn online course for a couple grand. It's NOT an impulse buy. It's a HUGE committment for both you and your client.
It's not a date, it's fucking marriage. Be patient.
3) Don't take it personally. Understand your propsects are always afraid, it's not your fault.

When it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.
4) Don't count the sales you've closed. It doesn't mean shit. You can't spend "sales". The money is not really yours UNTIL it's in your bank account and you're spending it! (I made that dumb mistake when I was in my early 20s)
5) It also means COLLECTING is as important if not more important than CLOSING.
That's my rant for the day. I am going down to my basement for my martial art training now.
