1️⃣. Với dạng Argumentative Essay

Dạng Argumentative Essay đưa ra một ý kiến về một vấn đề xã hội và hỏi xem bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý với ý kiến được nêu ra. Ví dụ đề bài “𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆.𝑻𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆?" hỏi bạn đồng ý hay phải đối với ý kiến cho rằng giáo dục đại học nên được cung cấp miễn phí. ↪️ Đồng ý hoàn toàn
Nếu bạn đồng ý với ý kiến trên, trong phần thân bài của bạn phải viết cái gì? Viết về các lý do đã thuyết phục bạn đồng ý với ý kiến đưa ra trong đề bài. Ví dụ với đề bài trên, các lí do đó có thể là:

🔹 Tạo ra cơ hội học tập công bằng cho tất cả mọi người bất kể khả năng tài chính của họ

🔹 Khuyến khích nhiều người tham gia học đại học hơn, do đó tạo được nguồn nhân lực có học vấn tốt và có kỹ năng trong tương lai.

Khi bạn chỉ có 2 lý do để thuyết phục bạn đồng ý hoàn toàn với quan điểm trên, mỗi lý do sẽ được trình bày trong một đoạn body theo cách số 2 hoặc số 3. Nhưng nếu bạn có nhiều hơn hai lý do, bạn có thể chọn giữa việc kết hợp cách viết số 1 (trình bày 2 – 3 lý do khiến bạn đồng ý) với cách viết số 2 hoặc số 3 (trình bày 1 lý do khiến bạn đồng ý). Tuy nhiên, hãy lưu ý rằng bạn luôn cần đảm bảo độ dài của hai đoạn thân bài nên tương đối bằng nhau.

↪️ Phản đối hoàn toàn
Nếu bạn hoàn toàn phản đối, nội dung cần viết trong phần thân bài hoàn toàn ngươc lại với việc bạn hoàn toàn đồng ý. Trong thân bài, bạn đưa ra các lý do phản đổi ý kiến đầu bài, giải thích và lấy ví dụ để làm rõ cách lý do này. Có những lý do nào khiến bạn phản đối vấn đề trên?

🔹 Giáo dục đại học rất đắt đỏ với nhiều chi phí (lương giáo viên, công nhân, giáo trình, công cụ học tập…) nên học sinh nên phải trả một phần những khoản đó

🔹 Học sinh được rất nhiều cái lợi, đặc biệt về mặt kinh tế sau khi tham gia giáo dục đại học (nghề nghiệp tốt, lương cao…) nên họ nên phải trả

🔹 Nếu không mất gì mà có thể tham gia học tập, học sinh thường trở nên lười biếng, thiếu cố gắng nên trả phí tham gia học đại học đóng vai trò như một động lực khuyến khích họ chăm học hơn

↪️ Nửa đồng ý nửa phản đối
Đây là cách viết “ba phải” vì bạn vừa đồng ý lại vừa phản đối với ý kiến đưa ra, hay nói khác đi bạn chọn lối “balanced essay”.Chính vì vậy, trong hai đoạn thân bài, một đoạn bạn sẽ trả lời câu hỏi: tôi đồng ý với ý kiến trên vì các lý do …. Còn đoạn thân bài kia sẽ trả lời câu hỏi: tôi không đồng ý với ý kiến trên vì các lý do….. Cách viết này dễ dàng hơn rất nhiều vì bố cục từng đoạn thân bài đều được tổ chức theo cách 1 – bạn đưa ra nhiều lý do đồng ý hoặc nhiều lý do phản đối trong cùng một đoạn, bạn không phải đi quá sâu vào từng lý do để làm rõ nó.

2️⃣. Với dạng câu hỏi Discussion Essay

Cách viết dạng bài Discussion Essay sẽ có một chút giống với cách viết dạng bài Balanced Argumentative Essay nên các bạn hãy đọc kỹ hai phần này để tránh nhầm lẫn.

↪️ Thảo luận không hỏi ý kiến cá nhân
Hầu hết các đề discussion thường nêu ra 2 ý kiến thảo luận như thế này: “Some people think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others, however, believe there are better alternative ways of reducing crime. Discuss both views”. Viết gì trong từng đoạn thân bài? Chúng ta sẽ trả lời câu hỏi này như sau:

✅ Đoạn body 1: Nêu các lý do giải thích ý kiến đầu tiên – vì sao mọi người lại nghĩ cách tốt nhất để giảm tội phạm là tăng án tù lên?

🔹 Họ có nhiều thời gian để cải tạo hơn

🔹 Họ không thể gây án trong thời gian ở tù

✅ Đoạn body 2: Nêu các lý do giải thích ý kiến thứ 2 – vì sao mọi người lại nghĩ có nhiều cách khác để giảm tỉ lệ tội phạm?

🔹 Họ thấy rằng thực tế nhiều nước kéo dài án tù nhưng tỉ lệ tội phạm vẫn tăng.

🔹 Họ thấy rằng cho người tù tham gia vào các community services phục vụ cộng đồng sẽ tốt hơn việc kéo dài án tù

↪️ Thảo luận có hỏi ý kiến cá nhân
Khi câu hỏi discussion có ý kiến cá nhân (give your opinion) thì ý kiến cá nhân sẽ nằm ở đâu? Ý kiến cá nhân trong bài discussion muốn hỏi bạn nghiêng về ý kiến thứ nhất hơn hay thứ 2 hơn. Nếu bạn nghiêng về ý kiến nào hơn, hãy đặt nó vào đoạn body thứ 2 tương tự như phần trên.

3️⃣. Với dạng câu hỏi Causes/Effects and Solutions Essay

↪️ Hỏi về Causes and Effects
Đoạn 1 nêu các nguyên nhân gây ra vấn đề, đoạn 2 đưa ra các ảnh hưởng của vấn đề. Thường các ảnh hưởng mà đề bài muốn nói đến là các ảnh hưởng xấu, nhưng đối với một số vấn đề bạn cũng có thể đưa ra các ảnh hưởng tốt của vấn đề (ví dụ chính sách kế hoạch hóa ra đình có điểm tốt rất rõ ràng là bố mẹ có thể nuôi dạy và cung cấp các điều kiện giúp con cái phát triển tốt hơn..)

↪️ Hỏi về Causes and Solutions
Đoạn một nêu các nguyên nhân gây nên vấn đề, đoạn hai gợi ý các cách giải quyết vấn đề. Mỗi đoạn bạn nên đưa ra 2 đến 3 nguyên nhân gây nên nó và 2 đến 3 cách giải quyết.

↪️ Hỏi về Effects and Solutions
Đoạn 1 nêu ra các ảnh hưởng của vấn đề, đoạn 2 nêu ra cách cách giải quyết các ảnh hưởng đó. Mỗi đoạn bạn nên đưa ra 2 đến 3 ảnh hưởng và 2 đến 3 cách giải quyết.

4️⃣. Với dạng câu hỏi two-part question

Đối với dạng câu hỏi Two-part Question này, sẽ có hai câu hỏi trong đề bài, mỗi đoạn thân bài của bạn hãy trả lời một câu hỏi đó. Ví dụ:

Các ảnh hưởng tiêu cực của việc chơi games là gì? Bạn sẽ trình bày trong đoạn body 1 một số những ảnh hưởng sau:

Câu hỏi số 2 hỏi về các cách giải quyết những ảnh hưởng xấu của chơi games, bạn có thể dùng một số ý sau để trả lời:

🔹 Xếp hạng games theo nội dung để bố mẹ có thể kiểm soát và lựa chọn những trò games thích hợp

🔹 Hạn chế thời gian chơi games của trẻ

VIẾT ĐOẠN BODY TRONG IELTS WRITING TASK 2 NHƯ THẾ NÀO❓❓❓

Hầu hết các dạng câu hỏi trong IELTS Writing task 2 nên được trình bày làm rõ trong 2 đoạn body. Bố cục của mỗi đoạn body có thể theo 1 trong 3 cách sau:

⛔ CÁCH 1 ⛔

Cách bố cục này được dùng trong trường hợp bạn 2 đến 3 lý do (hay hiểu đơn giản hơn là 2 đến 3 luận điểm) để support cho ý kiến được nêu ở topic sentence. Dù bạn có nhiều hơn thì cũng chỉ nên chọn 2 – 3 lý do thôi để đảm bảo thời gian, độ dài bài viết cũng như độ tương xứng giữa các đoạn nhé.

- Topic sentence: Giới thiệu ý chính của đoạn
- Supporting idea 1: Làm rõ cho câu chủ đề
- Suppoting idea 2: Làm rõ cho câu chủ đề
- Supporting idea 3: Làm rõ cho câu chủ đề

Ví dụ trong bài này có 3 lý do mà tác giả bài viết không đồng ý với quan điểm nêu ra ở đề bài đó là: khó đến tính toán mức thuế riêng cho từng gia đình, mọi người luôn được yêu cầu đóng thuế cho các dịch vụ xã hội và việc mất công bằng nếu chính sách trên đươc thực hiện

𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒗𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒙𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒚, it would be difficult to calculate the correct amount of tax education for these families, and staff would be required to manage this complex process. 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒚, we all pay a certain amount of tax for public services that we may not use. For example, most people are fortunate enough not to have to call the police or fire brigade at any time in their lives, but they would not expect a tax reduction for this. Cách bố cục này được dùng trong trường hợp bạn chỉ có duy nhất 1 lý do để support cho ý kiến được nêu ở topic sentence.

- Topic sentence: Giới thiệu ý chính của đoạn
- Explanation: Giải thích làm rõ ý kiến trên bằng lý lẽ của bạn

Example: Đưa ra ví dụ để thuyết phục người đọc đi theo hướng của bạn
𝑰𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒑𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔. It is beneficial for all members of society to have a high quality education system with equal opportunities for all young people. This will result in a well-educated workforce, and in turn a more productive and prosperous nation. Parents of children in private schools may also see the advantages of this in their own lives. 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆, a company owner will need well qualified and competent staff, and a well-funded education system can provide such employees.

⛔ CÁCH 3 ⛔

Cách này tương đối khó viết nhưng lại rất chắc chắn trong việc khẳng định quan điểm của người viết, cách viết Counter-argument Paragraph. Phủ định ý kiến đối ngược là cách tốt nhất để khẳng định ý kiến của mình là đúng. Với cách số 3 này, bạn tham khảo 1 đoạn bài mẫu khác về việc học nhóm và học cá nhân nhé.

- Topic sentence: Giới thiệu ý chính của đoạn
- Counter-argument: Nêu lên ý kiến đối ngược với ý kiến nhắc đến ở câu chủ đề
- Rebuttal: Khẳng định ý kiến xuất hiện ở counter-argument là sai, là không hợp lý

There are a number of ways to learn a foreign language. Students can study alone from a book, or go to a country where the language is spoken and learn while living there. For the majority of learners, however, taking a private or group language lesson is a natural choice. Some people believe that private lessons are a better way to acquire a language because they are more flexible and so can meet students’ specific needs. However, in reality, group lessons can provide benifits private lessons cannot. Group lessons are more effective for language learning because they allow students to learn from each other, reduce the stress of the learning environment, and create a supportive atmosphere.

Don’t Be Naive! Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is Standing on the Side Against Human Civilization
　
Peaceful world order after WWII had been established upon the philosophy worshiping multilateralism. The cultural basis supporting such multilateralism contained an imagination believing in the ultimate good of the respect for diversity.
　
The Rise of China and the Naivete of EU
　
However, as time progressed into the Post-Cold War era of the 90's, globalization in trade became the dominant trend. Following the global embrace of multilateralism and respect for diversity, it was believed that China would have been influenced by open and positive values once she had participated in this big family of global trade. Indeed, China took advantage of its role as the "world factory" and gained a huge economic leap forward. After China joined the WTO in 2000, within seventeen to eighteen years, China had grown nine-fold compared in terms of its aggregate economic volume. Furthermore, it surpassed Germany in 2005 and Japan between 2009 and 2010, becoming the second-largest economy in the world.
　
In particular, due to the global financial crisis derived from the subprime mortgage in 2007 and Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy in 2008 in the United States, the PIGGS countries turned into victims in Europe. China thus took advantage of this crisis to expand its power, bridging China’s role as depicted in Hu JinTao's "China's peaceful rise" to that in Xi JinPing's "China dream." Finally, China has revealed its ambition to compete for the position as a world leader and a planner of a new world order. The United States has finally, recently woken up to this nightmare of Xi, who has long intended to use China's almighty economic power to achieve his political agenda and hegemony. Unfortunately, many EU countries who consider themselves as advanced, civilized, pro-human rights and respectful to diversification, such as Germany and France, still fail, or refuse, to see the CCP regime’s true color and remain extremely naive towards it.
　
Repulsion towards Vulgarity, Tolerance towards Violence
　
Ironically, the two leading EU countries, Germany and France, prefer a dictatorial emperor, Xi, over Trump elected by the Americans with their ballots. The two countries do not shy away from showing them disgusted by Trump’s vulgar behaviors, but reluctantly show intolerance towards Xi’s cruelty and dictatorship. As a result, the EU countries develop inconceivable and mysterious stubbornness: they loudly criticize countries practicing death penalty based on their own judicial system; however, they are generous and subdued when it comes to the violence happening in HongKong where the HongKong police and Chinese GongAn basically bypass all applicable, or reasonable, laws. We should find this contrast deeply disturbing.
　
Seeing CCP through the eyes of Mao
　
In fact, these european countries and the western world are deluded by the so-called “respect for diversity.” Let’s use the wisdom of the CCP’s spiritual leader, Mao Ze Dong, as a framework to rethink this diversity concept in civilization. In his work “Correct Handling of Contradictions Between People,” published in 1957, Mao clearly classified social contradictions into “contradictions of two different natures”: “contradictions between ourselves and the enemy” and “internal contradictions among the people”. Contradictions between ourselves and the enemy are antagonistic, for example the contradictions between the exploiting and the exploited classes; but contradictions among people is non-antagonistic. Therefore, the former can not be mediated and resolved, but the latter one can be. Mao further advocated that contradictions between ourselves and the enemy should be resolved by dictatorship, but contradictions between the people should be resolved by a method of “cooperation-criticism-cooperation.” In other words, incompatible contradictions between ourselves and the enemy can only be solved by suppression, but internal contradictions can be softened by cooperation.
　
Civilization and CCP - Two Incompatible Conflicting Systems
　
It is time for us to recognize that CCP, a sovereign of authoritarianism and digital dictatorship, should not have been regarded as a representation of the diversity of human civilization. Diversity should be defined based on a founded premise, i.e., a premise confined with certain agreements and consensus, necessary and beneficial for composing diversity. In fact, the value CCP stands for is against the universally accepted values of the world, just like the “incompatible contradictions between ourselves and the enemy”, as Mao said. As long as the existence of the CCP regime continues, human civilization will continue to be persecuted. It can be seen in the current situation of Hong Kong, where China approved the new bill of national security, thereby destroying the remaining freedom guaranteed to Hong Kongers, and assigned the “secret” police gangs to enforce the so-called “justice”.
　
To see the contracting natures of civilization and the CCP regime, we make an analogy with food. Normally, we respect other people’s choice for food. For instance, Ann prefers rice, Bob prefers noodles, John is a meat lover, Mary only eats seafood, etc. Although those four people have different choices of what they like to eat, they respect each other’s choices of food. However, when Daniel comes over and tells the group that he prefers to eat faeces and needs to be respected for his preference, we can start to see the ridiculousness in it. At first, the four people think eating faeces is a personal choice for Daniel, and Daniel can do whatever he/she wants as long as he/she does it at his/her home. The problem rises when Daniel starts to force other people to eat faeces, while the other four people think faeces is inedible, and should never be served on a plate.
　
The food analogy tells us that the CCP regime is inherently against human civilization. As a reasonable human being could not categorize feces as food, we should not be tricked to believe that the authoritarian regime of China can blend in and contribute to human civilization. The CCP regime is incompatible to human civilization just like we should not consider to eat a meal with feces in it. As the master of CCP, Mao, admitted, one can never resolve the contradiction between the authoritarian regime of China and human civilization. The existence of Chinese authoritarian regime is a symbol for deprivation of human civilization. For us to maintain and preserve human civilization, Chinese authoritarian regime must be eradicated. There is no room for the coexistence of the CCP regime and human civilization.
　　
Draw a Bottom Line to the Respect for Diversity
　
Therefore, among western countries, the United States have started or should start to realize that although diversity needs to be respected and tolerated, a reasonable bottom line should be drawn to such respect. Like what I have mentioned above, rice, noodles, meat, seafood and so on should be viewed as food; however, as we can all reasonably agree, feces should not be a part of the league. The United States is now acting to exclude “feces” from the democratic league and draw a bottom line for respect-worthy diversity. However, leading EU countries are still trapped in their fancy, unconditional acceptance to “respect for diversity.” Such respect is hypocritical, empty and baseless. Hello friends! A highly requested video is finally up! ?

I'm using an HSK vocabulary book, but you can use any resource like a novel, an article, a textbook or even a TV show to find new words. I color code my notes and color code the tones so I can associate a tone with a color.

In one notebook, I list the Chinese characters in black, the pinyin pronunciation in orange, and the Korean or English meaning in black. The circle with a number in it indicates which HSK level the vocab word is for. Example sentences are written in red, and when I need to, I'll rewrite the characters as much as I can until I memorize it.

Then I transfer the words without pinin to a separate notebook and only write the meaning. I then underline the characters with a color according to its tone.

PS: Some of you may notice my vocab is in simplified and one of my example sentences in traditional. I use both!
