Finally got down to try this Thai Kway Chap and the soup reminded me of Bak Kut Teh! Had the signature bowl ($5) which comes with curled kway teow strips, fish sausages, deep fried pork belly, pork stomach and sliced pork. Both the fish sausages and deep fried pork belly were excellent but we ordered something different for the side—Thai Style Deep Fried Mid-Joints ($6) which are served piping hot, crispy and juicy 🤤

No service charge or gst but do look out for the dining crowds especially during weekends peak hours

Striking some good luck with noodles these days ☺️ 👊🏼👊🏼

Utterly stoked to discover this humble noodle joint called 寻秦记 which is just a walk across the road from tiong bahru market. It serves handmade shaanxi noodles that are a rare sight here and executes it well. We had the 招牌 biangbiang 麵 ($7) which are traditional wide noodles that come in a single strand, topped with stir fry tomato egg, minced pork, chopped carrots, potatoes.

The flavors were spicy, tangy and so aromatic. Very Oily yes, but it ain’t tasty without the oil right? As for the 三秦炒麵 $9, it did look a bit different from the menu ( abit home style 😅) but no less tasty. The noodles here are unevenly cut — think long strands of bee tai mak and very very chewy. For those who love noodles with robust flavors, this place is definitely worth a visit. Plus, there is no service charge or gst so we spent a total of $16 for two bowls. Highly recommend 👍👍👍
