These frogs successfully bred and their spawn were reared in captivity. More than 1000 tadpoles were released successfully in the past four years.

New Zealand’s Department of Conservation recently released 104 juvenile Kakī (or Black Stilt)–-the world’s rarest wading bird--into the wild in the South Island’s Mackenzie Basin as part of its ongoing Kakī Recovery Programme! In 2020 the adult Kakī population increased by 30% from 2019 to a total of 169 adults. It was the most significant increase since the recovery programme began more than 40 years ago. However, over the course of moving forward Taiwan’s democratization process, Lee Teng-hui also fortified populist politics.

There is an unusual phenomenon in Taiwan’s political development, namely that the more democracy is promoted, the more it engenders conflicts of national identification. And this sort of democratization process is naturally full of complexity and threats.

Hong Kong's history is tie strongly to its harbour and sea. And one of the earliest inhabitants are the fishing folks, who live in houseboats in sheltered bays in Hong Kong. One of the most historic and famous is the Aberdeen Fishing Village, or Aberdeen Floating Village, and you can also visit the Lamma Fisherfolk Village to see how fishes are reared and caught in the old days.

This is a day/half day trip to Aberdeen and Lamma Island with Aberdeen 1773 and Lamma Rainbow Tour. We visited a houseboat turned museum, took a sampan ride around Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, then off to Lamma Island for some seafood feast and a visit to the Lamma Fisherfolk village.
