My opinion is to consider the following factors when choosing an English teacher:
1. 釐清自己的目標!
Your own goals for learning English. Can the teacher help you fulfill these goals given the time and resources at your disposal? Will you do your part to learn?
2. 看老師的個人特質和學經歷!
Does the teacher posses the following qualifications?
-教學資格證明
Teaching qualifications. Pedagogical theories enable instructors to use a wide assortment of strategies when trying to help you, a unique learner, to learn! Does the teacher take a differentiated approach? Does he focus on all domains of English?
-教學經驗
Experience in teaching someone like you. Has the teacher taught students of your age/ability/culture/goals/etc.? By having such experience, the teacher can better tap into your funds of knowledge to help you learn.
-教材與練習
Sufficient learning materials and practice. Does the teacher provide you with class activities, assignments, and assessments?
-教師回饋
Constant feedback. Does the teacher give you continuous feedback to help you overcome your problems?
-教學和學習的熱情
Enthusiasm for teaching. Is the teacher responsible and motivated in helping you learn? Are you motivated by his or her teaching?
