I wasn't kidding when I said I almost died when I tried out mountain biking for the first time last week. 😅 Halfway through the trail, I jammed the front brakes too fast and too hard, and the bike ended up flipping forward. Thankfully, I wasn't thrown forward with too great a force and I broke my fall with my left palm and knee. Ouch.
Ash was cycling behind me and he saw the entire incident. Not sure if he was shaken because he also tumbled sideways earlier and grazed his inner thigh. But luckily, my injuries weren't that serious but the good thing that came out of this was it showed my kids that their parents weren't afraid to try out new stuff... no matter how old we are. And when I fell, I just got back up, dusted myself and continued with the biking. Yes, it was painful and the pain will last for days but that's life right? We will fail at times but the important thing is how we respond, and the lessons we learn from it.
The lesson I learnt? Trying to pick out small gravel embedded in my wound with a tweezer was super painful!!! 😭
