I’m thrilled to be one of the first in the world to try, and purchase, cultured chicken meat created by @goodmeatinc and launched at @1880singapore. And yes, it tastes like chicken, because it is chicken meat.
But Goodmeat cultured chicken is made by taking a single stem cell from a chicken feather and no chicken was killed in the process and only creating a fraction of the carbon footprint of normal chicken.
.
.
Consumption of livestock animals is an environmental threat as industrialised agriculture produces potent greenhouse gasses, while logging to create pastures destroys natural barriers against climate change. Ideally we would all reduce our meat consumption. But despite all the awareness campaigns, meat consumption is increasingly globally.
.
.
This historic moment brings the world closer to a world where the meat the world eats will not require tearing down a forest, displacing animal habitats or using a single drop of antibiotics..
.
.Congratulations to EAT JUST team and CEO @joshtetrick on the milestone, and it’s only the beginning of a new era!.

The beauty of this place has me feeling blue 💙 While this glacial lagoon is one of the most unreal sights I’ve ever seen, this ENTIRE area used to be a glacier ~80 years ago, after which the glacier started to recede for the first time since the ice age and the lagoon started to form. 💧 In the last 25 years, it’s more than doubled in size from increased glacial melt caused by climate change. It only takes one visit to Iceland to see the impact of our actions firsthand. On my end, I’ve been reducing my overall meat consumption (read more in my last post), aiming to eat more locally (it tastes better anyway!), and finding ways to use less water and electricity. What are you doing to reduce your carbon footprint? #IndulgentEatsIceland

I participated in a comic exchange event with Belgium artists, we tell stories about our cities in a common theme.
"Hong Kong has one of the highest GINI coefficient, carbon footprint and meat consumption in the world. If only there were urban robin hoods who make the lives of the poor better."
