📍 Maliau Basin
We could wake up to this every morning. Life in Nepenthes camp at Maliau Basin, Sabah is simple. We slept on beds lined with our sleeping bags, we bathed in the red river waters channeled through the man-made pipes. We ate simple yet delicious meals and we would star/moon gaze at night with a good banter. Behind us is an actual tree house but remains closed. The Borneo rainforest is a magical place but completing the circuit requires preparation and patience. The journey is long and arduous but to us it was an escape to a land before time...This is sunrise at Maliau Basin, Sabah through my looking glass.
