Conversation about Jesus with my 3 year old girl:
“Healed in Jesus’ name, amen,” muttered Maeleth as she clasped her right hand around her left pinkie.
“Mae? What are you praying about?” I said as I soaped her body — it was shower time.
“My little finger is hurt so I’m praying for Jesus to make it better,” said Maeleth as she lifted her pinkie towards me.
“Yes Jesus will heal you because He loves you so much. He will use His powers to make you better,” I said, feeling so blessed that she was using prayer as a first resort to her problems.
“Jesus can use powers to defeat the villains like Romeo also?”
Chuckling in amusement at how she related powers to her favorite cartoon show, PJ Masks, I replied, “Yes, Jesus can use His powers to defeat the devil and all demons. Jesus is very powerful!”
“Jesus’ power is not evil. We don’t need to be afraid, Jesus is protecting us,” Maeleth said with a big smile, processing my words.
“Yes that’s right Mae...” My heart swelled with love for this adorable girl who loves Jesus and trusts Him with such simple faith. They are never too young to start having a relationship with the Lord.
