Since the day Layla was born, I've been faced with dilemmas every single day. Shld i carry her or let her play on her own? Shld i let her nap longer or wake her up? Shld i let her nap first or shower first? Shld i change her diaper before or after feeding her? Omg.. the worse would be those in the wee hours in the morning. Shld i pump or shld i wait to latch?
Every stage will present new dilemmas. The last 2 days have been utterly exhausting. Since Day 0, Layla's been sleeping w somebody in her room. First was the confinement nanny, after she left, my helper took over. At 4m old, i decided it was time for Layla to start sleeping on her own, since she started sleeping 7pm-7am for quite a few nights already.
I'm not sure if it's sleep regression or her feeling insecure sleeping in the room alone - 2 nights ago, she woke up 5 times. 😭😭 It was especially hard bcos I've nv successfully put her to bed without nursing her before. So at the same time, i also had to teach her to disassociate Mama to milk only. She was confused and crying when i pat her instead of feeding her. SO TIRING!
I kept asking myself. Am i doing the right thing? Why am i doing this to myself? I can just continue with how things were, let my helper sleep w her. Nothing has to change! It would be so much easier for both Layla and i. But deep inside, i know I'm doing the right thing. I just need to not let this fatigue trick me into giving in!
Seriously though, no matter how tired i am. When i see her face in the morning with that huge toothless grin, everything just make sense, everything is worth it. 🥰

關於教育
留意不同的country例如：England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland可能會有不同的制度，我主要以England來分享我的經驗
Early Year: 5歲以下的小朋友並不是強迫上學的，3-4歲的小朋友可以入讀nursery，每年有38星期可以有15小時免費的nursery education
雖然5歲才係一定要入學，但我住的county係4歲就可以入讀year Reception(簡稱year R), 家長可以申請defer等小朋友夠5歲先入讀year 1, 但是因為學校是由year R開始，year 1申請時就要看學校還有沒有位才能收到，所以大部份小朋友都會在year R的統一派位時就申請入學了～
以Hampshire County Council來做例子
統一派位for year R & year 3的報名日期通常在11月至來年1月中，然後4月中放榜
統一派位for year 7的報名日期通常在9月至來年10月尾，然後3月頭放榜
如果趕不上這個統一派位就要in-year application，申請日期大概是6月頭，我們上年是6月10日交申請，然後兩日內已經收到兩兄弟的學校回覆
要申請學校，一定要有住址證明：
如果買樓，要提供律師信證明exchange of contracts
如果租樓，要提供簽好的租約，通常要12個月或以上，租約期一定要長過在入學後的時間
如果本身已有住址，就提供證明
如果搬去和其他人住，就要有那人的信證明這安排，另外要有兩份證明你是這個住址的住戶證明，例如車牌、銀行信、最近的水電媒氣單之類
當有學校收了，家長去註冊時就要帶埋住址證明去學校做註冊手續
報學校的程序
類似香港小學，以校網黎劃分，越近機會越大，當然也有其他因素影響，例如有無特別教育需要、有沒有兄弟姊妹在該校就讀，有沒有父母在家任教等等～
這裡報學校可以選3間學校排次序，如果3間都有位就會安排志願排較前的學校
選學校的其中一個參考可以看各學校的收生數據，知道各學校受歡迎程度
Hampshire County 有個數據提供往年各學校關於收生的資料，例如：每間學校的計劃收生人數，報每間學校的人數，他們是由哪個條件去取錄等等，頗詳細的，雖然唔同County可能有不一樣，但相信都會有相似的數據，有興趣可以望望

Key Stage 1 (大概是4-6歲) 就是year R year 1 & year 2
這3年的小朋友會在infant school返學，有些學校會提供由year R - year 6或再高的年級，但普遍都會分開infant school，然後再升到junior school
每間學校的功課量會不一樣，以我小朋友為例，每天都要做的就是讀書，他們會每天在學校換一本書，然後回來讀，紀錄再帶回校。半個學期一次功課，一個學期一次project，雖然功課好像不多，但他們每天都會在學校學phonics，寫作，數學，美術，D&T等等～每天有故事時間，另外定期會檢查小朋友串字情況，約半個學期會有一天家長可以去看他們在學校的習作，然後約每個學期會有一次小朋友的小演出給家長看～
Key Stage 2 (大概是7-10歲)就是year 3 - year 6
通常叫junior school，政府學校跟National Curriculum的科目包括：English, Mathematics, Science, Design Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, Physical Education (PE) including swimming, computing, Ancient and modern Foreign Languages, Religious Education。
雖然有這麼多不同學科，但學校多以不同的主題來貫通各個學科
哥哥的每天功課也是讀書，每星期會有一些串字，在學校有不同的寫作，研究，一個學期一次project，當他們完成專題研究，學校會邀請家長去看他們的成果
和香港的功課默書測驗考試量來比較，實在是開心太多了！還有，這裡放假就真的是放假，幾乎都沒有功課的！❤️
每一個Key Stage完都會有考評，但這個考評不影響學生，只影響學校的砰級，且也沒有操練
11＋ 考評（不是必需考的）
如果想入private schools或政府的grammar schools，就需要報考這個試
因為是在year 6 開學不久考，所以小朋可能year 4/5就要開始準備
接著就是
Key Stage 3 (大概是11-14歲）就是year 7 - year 9)
Key Stage 4 (大概是14-16歲）就是year 10 - year 11)
Key Stage 5 (大概是16-18歲）就是year 12 - year 13)
因為我的小朋友還未到
所以我還未仔細研究 😂

2013年6月5日/Y:1歳7ヶ月/R:4歳0ヶ月 It is the special training of words of dad and Yuuma.
Dad did special training to let 'Oto' say to him.
Dad thought about his special training contents of the next :)
Because he became able to say 'Mom' and 'Oto', dad who thought to let him learn 'Rino' next trains him intensively.
He of this stage can never do pronunciation of Rino.
He says 'Rino' → 'Ba,pa'.
