See a Mighty Jesus

“In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings. With two he covered his face. With two he covered his feet. With two he flew. One called to another, and said, “Holy, holy, holy, is Yahweh of Armies! The whole earth is full of his glory!” The foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.” (Isaiah‬ ‭6:1-4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Picture this majestic vision. The mortal king of Israel had just died, and the Lord Christ revealed Himself, seated on His throne of glory which was high and lifted up, and the train of His robes filled the whole temple. The longer the train, the more honorable the king is—it was a picture of the supreme ruler. The King of kings and Lord of lords!

No mortal king rules forever, so regardless of who rules in Israel, Christ is the ultimate king who is watching over the nation, protecting it from all her enemies.

We can benefit from seeing Jesus in His love and Grace, and also from seeing Him in His power and authority. However, the former is more important to be established in first because without having a sense of being loved by Him, you will be afraid of Him due to the latter.

Behold Jesus in His power. Can any enemy stand against a God like that? He is Yahweh of Armies, who commands the seraphim, the cherubim, the four living creatures, the chariots of fire, and all the heavenly armies. The natural elements of this world like the wind and waves obey His word, and nothing can resist His command.

When we magnify the Lord in our hearts, we won’t fear the enemies because the greatness of our God overshadows the problems we face in life.

What does the passage mean when it says that “the house was filled with smoke”? This smoke is the smoke from the altar of incense, which is a picture of the prayers being offered up by the nation of Israel. The people were crying out for God to help them, and that is why the temple was filled with smoke—the many prayers of the people.

“The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”” (Luke‬ ‭18:6-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God is being patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance in Christ Jesus. There is a day of vengeance coming, which is the period of time called the Tribulation and the Day of Christ, and it will be horrible for the inhabitants of this earth who have not received Jesus Christ as Lord. We won’t be going through the Tribulation, but we will be returning to earth with Jesus on the Day of Christ (popularly known as the Second Coming).

Our Lord is not coming back as a meek Lamb, but as the mighty Lion of the tribe of Judah.

“I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.” The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen. Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND Lord OF LORDS.”” (Revelation‬ ‭19:11-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We have to change the picture of the ascended Jesus we have in our minds. He is no longer the bleeding and suffering man of sorrows who was so injured that He fell from the weigh of the cross that He was carrying.

He is now high and lifted up, back on His throne of glory, with all the heavenly armies at His command. In fairy tales, there is often a handsome prince on a white horse that whisks the damsel in distress away to a happy ending where they ride away together into the sunset. Where did humans get this picture from?

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God has set eternity into the hearts of men. Jesus is the prince who will save Israel from her oppressors. When you think of Jesus today, see a mighty King who commands the heavenly armies to fight your battles for you. He does this because He loves you!

Your Body is God’s Temple

““Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power. Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:13-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

I believe that seeing your body as God’s temple will transform the way you treat it.

If God had designed for us to still be worshipping Him in a temple built of gold, wood, and stones, would you go and defile the walls with graffiti, toss lots of junk into it, have your way with prostitutes inside, and let it fall into disrepute? No way, right?

Probably the number one reason why we don’t treat our bodies right is because we are not conscious of it being God’s temple.

We go around daily, thinking that the condition of our body is not that important, and that other things are more urgent.

When we get busy, hydration is neglected, meals are skipped or irregular, exercise is dropped, hygiene is forgotten, sleep is sacrificed, and the body is just sadly abused.

The body is the house of the Holy Spirit, and we ought to treat it right.

If the president (or someone else of a much higher rank that you respect) announces one day that he will be staying at your house, you will surely clean up the house and prepare it nicely right?

Then why are we so casual when God is dwelling in our body, and He has promised to stay forever? Does He not deserve the grandest, most glorious house with the best maintenance?

Thankfully, we have a better way than natural methods to care for God’s temple. If your body is in a bad state, and needs some major renovation, the Holy Spirit can work an awesome transformation by His power. It is a change that everyone can see.

The Great Multitude in Heaven

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?” I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood. Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.” (Revelation‬ ‭7:9-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The passage above depicts the scene of the saints arriving in Heaven right after the Rapture.

The main confusion for most people here regarding the timeline of this event is because of the words “came out of the great tribulation”, making them think that it happens in the middle or end of the Tribulation.

However, I believe that the Rapture happens once the appointed time for the Tribulation begins.

Whether someone comes out of the Tribulation at the start, in the middle, or at the end of it does not matter—it is still coming out of the Tribulation.

Let me give you an example. Let’s say you go and watch a movie at a cinema. You did not like the movie immediately, so you left the cinema shortly after arriving. The fact is, you still came out of the cinema, even if it was at the start of the movie. Makes sense?

Additionally, the Tribulation saints who miss the Rapture and only believe in Jesus during the Tribulation will not receive salvation immediately, but only at the end of the Tribulation when Jesus returns. They have to endure to the end (without receiving the mark of the beast) to be saved.

Read the following passage which takes place after the Tribulation, at the start of the Millennial reign of Christ. It shows that the martyred Tribulation saints will only come alive again and receive eternal life after the Tribulation has ended:

“I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.” (Revelation‬ ‭20:4-5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus said the following words to the church of Philadelphia (all of them have fallen asleep since then):

“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

There is an hour of testing coming upon the whole world, which is the seven years of Tribulation, but it is not for the church. Jesus’ message is true for the church today as well. We will not be going through the Tribulation.

“But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:8-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We are not waiting for the Antichrist to appear. Instead, we are looking forward to Jesus’ return. We will obtain the last part of our salvation: the transformation of our mortal bodies into glorified bodies. Those who have fallen asleep will be raised from the dead first, and then we will all be transformed in the twinkling of an eye, to have immortal bodies that match our righteous spirits.

We are not appointed to go through the time of wrath. God knows how to separate the righteous from the wicked, just as He made a distinction between the children of Israel and the Egyptians during the ten plagues in Egypt. The children of Israel were preserved alive, and so were their flocks, but the Egyptians and their flocks suffered/died.

So do not fear—lift your head and confidently expect Jesus to return for us any day now!

Let me end off with a poem I wrote called “Jesus I Need You”. As you read, tune your heart to expect His imminent return. It is a hope that purifies you!

Jesus I’d be lost without Your love,
everyday would be so hard.
When things don’t go my way,
I fall into Your embrace,
I am forever Yours.

I can’t imagine life without You,
that would be Hell for sure.
I need grace and mercy that’s from You,
by myself I’m powerless.

Let me abide in the Vine,
I’ll hear of You and be fine.
Faith will rise—I’ll speak forth life,
fruitfulness is sure.

Take my hand and guide me through life,
I know you’ll never let me go.
With You I’ll walk on water,
we’ll rise above every power.

Lord Jesus,
you’ll catch me when I fall.
Amidst every trial,
You are there through it all.

I just want to see You,
I long for that perfect day.
Where we’ll meet in the clouds,
and I’ll see Your lovely face.

In early January I visited the Setouchi Region surrounding Shikoku, for a short three-day tour of the area! Starting in Hyogo, we visited Himeji Castle, before driving through Awaji-shima and arriving in Tokushima. Then we ventured to Kagawa, where we hopped on a ferry and explored the island of Shodoshima! It was my first time getting deep into the Setouchi region - although Shikoku is somewhere I always feel like I'd like to spend more time. Hopefully I can come back in the summer one day! I'd love to go island hopping!

Found in the middle of nowhere, outside of Kaohsiung lies an old temple surrounded by mystery and known by nobody!

Here is the epic finale of our Kaohsiung Adventure Vlog series! I really hope you have enjoyed this Taiwan travel vlog series. It was such an unbelievable adventure, exploring and travelling through Kaohsiung. I would love to know your thoughts on the adventure vlogs and where you would like to see me go on my next adventure?

In this final Taiwan adventure we continued our journey from Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum travelling to Qishan village.

Qishan Village is famous for Banana made products including the tastiest Banana Bread in Taiwan!

We explored Qishan Old Street to find great local Taiwan street food stalls and of course to try the famous Banana Bread!

After having great Taiwanese dishes and local Taiwanese noodles we took a drive up the mountain over looking Qishan to Qishan Confucius Temple.

Here in this beautiful mountain temple you could see the vast Taiwan landscape beyond. This temple is a great Taiwan hike location and for those travelers looking for a hidden gem this place is perfect. The Taiwan temple is completely empty with no tourists, you can experience this unbelievable nature of Taiwan all to yourself.

After taking in the beautiful view from the temple we drove through the country side of Taiwan to Tianliao Moon World.

The landscape at the Moon World Taiwan nature park is something from another planet. It is a great place to have a walking tour and see the unique mountains of Taiwan.

Exploring around the nature park was awesome and it is a must visit location in Taiwan for nature lovers.

After the Moon world tour we traveled to the most insane temple I have ever seen in my life.

Tianliao Stone temple is the most unique temple I have ever seen and perhaps the best hidden gem in Taiwan. It is a must for those wanting to travel off the beaten path and discover the secrets of Taiwan. I could not believe that this Stone temple was built with no plan and no budget. The area around the temple and the Taiwan stone Temple itself is magical and if you want things to do in Taiwan, then this must be top on your list to see.

Finally after seeing this Kaohsiung hidden gem we traveled to a mountain temple high above Kaohsiung in the mountains surrounding Kaohsiung city.

Here looking out towards Kaohsiung it was the perfect place to reflect on our Taiwan travel tour and the crazy adventure we had had in Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung blew my mind, in the city there is great street food and out of it there are unbelievable hidden gems and secret travel locations.

It is on my list for must visit cities in Taiwan and recommend to all travelers looking to have an adventure!

We travelled out of Kaohsiung city to see what secrets could be found in the countryside of Kaohsiung!

In this video we really had a travel adventure in Taiwan, driving out the nature side of Kaohsiung and experiencing unbelievable landmarks and views far from the busy Taiwanese city.

It was an amazing experience to see the true hidden gems of Kaohsiung and see a side of Taiwan few have experienced.

We started the day in Kaohsiung city center, going to the local street food breakfast stall called Yinghua Breakfast Restaurant. Here we had a delicious range of Taiwanese food and Taiwanese breakfast. It was the perfect way to start the day eating great local street food.

Next we travel to the outskirts of Kaohsiung Taiwan, here we explored Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum.

This beautiful temple park was like nothing I had ever experienced. The giant Buddha overlooking the towering Pagoda's, this is a must visit location in Taiwan.

We travelled around the Taiwan temple, checking out all the different temples in the park. This area shows the nature of Taiwan perfectly and was a great get away from Kaohsiung city.

We had an awesome adventure exploring the secret spots in Kaohsiung and I really recommend this as things to do in Kaohsiung Taiwan.
