A letter to my 18-month old Baby Brooks:
Thank you for 18 months of beautiful memories. Thank you for catching up to the flow of my overwhelming burst of breastmilk at first when your little mouth and little throat weren’t prepared to handle it yet... eventually we managed found our own flow, together. Thank you for always being so easy-going, for taking whatever Mom offers, no matter how it’s offered.
When you know you have hurt Mommy, although you may not know how or how to prevent it the next time it happens, you always stop whatever you were doing that caused the pain to kiss me better first.
You really don’t like an angry or upset Mommy, so you would always pause, look me in the eye and keeping calling, “Mommy, Mommy,” until Mommy smiles again.
There are so many things you don’t understand about the world yet, but you understand your current world so well: we are all you know and we know you feel so safe and happy with us. I hope you will always know you are safe and very much loved by your brother, daddy and most of all, Mommy.
This is the end of our breastfeeding journey together, but the beginning of so much more. You will now want me to hold you because you just want me to hold you. You will now call for me, just because you want Mommy to be there. You will now enjoy food more, I am sure, without anymore fussy distractions for Mommy’s milk.
As any breastfeeding Mom would agree, I cannot bear the thought of not holding you close for comfort when you need to be soothed; I cannot bear the thought of you not needing me to make you feel better anymore through the mere comfort of nursing; and if you were to catch a cold or a virus, I cannot bear not having the best medicine there is on Earth for you readily available at your command.
But we will grow together, and we will love each other so much more in so many different ways. I know, because your brother turned out to be the perfect boy too, with or without my breastmilk in the long run.
I love you so much. In all shapes, sizes and forms you can ever imagine.
Love,
Mommy

My daughter is not feeling good since last night, so she had to take a day off. She never missed going to the kindergarten, so she was really sad and cried. Today is a super nice weather SUNNY 20C clear blue sky, kids went on a picnic. She is still saying she wants to go 😢
Well... when I was small, I just remember I wanted to stay home doing nothing, finding a reason for it, and went to school every day not even catching a cold. hahaha
Anyway I worry if she is okay of course. And, I regret that I did not notice her change last night... As a mother, I reflect upon my mistakes... My son is doing okay. Rather, he happily went to school... I thought he needs his sister. He grew up.
What a day. My mom went to Disney Land 😅
Picture: From recent video. Gorillas at Ueno Zoo were absent but it was pretty fun around there. My favorite pic of the day. Last Thursday kids were doing fine. Quite noisy and crazy but I miss them doing fine. https://youtu.be/1eywTcNH4VE
Everyone stay healthy and safe ❤️
Some people write me if I am okay (am I?). Well, with kids, I think I have too many things to reflect upon and I just share something that I don't have to that many people go through?! Please take my posts serious for that moment but don't take it for a permanent stuff. I always regret I write and share too much. Maybe this post, too in a few days but obviously not right now💦Thanks for reading 🙏

涼季
Translation: @benkongenglish
.
.
My alarm clock performed its job at its best.
For no matter how loud it screams,
I will stay in bed for a little longer
.
Taking my time to organise by backpack,
Have a few bites of breakfast before getting dressed
It’s time to go out for work, maybe even a little late, after all the lingering
I still insist on getting a pot of water from the kitchen and say my goodbyes to my song-of-India and devil’s ivy outside the windows
.
Risking to be late, I am not giving up on watering them for this is their hydration for the whole day.
If I’m out for a long trip on a dry and sunny day, this pot of water is their nutrition for the days to come
I always look after those who depend their lives on me
.
It’s hot and stuffy in Summer
Waves of hot air usually seize the opportunity and attack when I open the window and water the plants
I felt a trace of coolness this morning instead as if Autumn is announcing its arrival
.
I realised I was smiling not only because my t shirts will no longer be sticky under this comfortable weather,
But also the freshness of the change of seasons
My smile froze though, all there left were bitter smile and regrets
.
Can I be spared of catching a cold had it not been for this window?
Can I sleep tight had it not been for this house?
Can I be physically at ease had it not been for this bed?
.
Weather is getting cool and wind is blowing sharper
Where will the animals take shelter?
Will there be windows, houses, beds and blankets for the homeless?
Suddenly my preference for cooler seasons seems cruel......
