Why will we Weep in Heaven?
“for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”” (Revelation 7:17 WEB)
The context of the verse above is that all believers have just been caught up to meet Jesus in the air (aka the Rapture), and taken into Heaven before God’s throne.
Why will we be weeping at such a joyous occasion? It’s Heaven and it’s a place of perfect peace and joy, isn’t it?
I believe it’s because believers will be crying for those unbelieving loved ones who have been left behind on earth.
Unbelievers will have to go through the 7-year Tribulation period. It will be a terrible time.
For unbelievers, they will face horrifying judgments from God, and believers will face fiery persecution from the Antichrist.
At that time, only those on earth who refuse to accept the Mark of the Beast and endure in their faith to the end of the Tribulation will be saved.
Salvation during the Tribulation won’t work like it does in this church age.
Right now, a person is saved instantly the moment he/she has faith in Jesus as Lord.
But during the Tribulation, because the Holy Spirit won’t be indwelling anyone on earth (He is the Restrainer who has been taken out of the way), salvation is only given to those who endure in their faith all the way to the end of the Tribulation upon Jesus’ return, or upon death, without taking the Mark of the Beast.
““Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:9-13 NKJV)
This is the true meaning of the passage above. It’s not for this church age, but it’s for the Tribulation period.
You can’t endure to the end to be saved in this church age. You are saved simply by believing in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confessing it with your mouth.
There are many interesting questions one can raise about the Tribulation and beyond:
1. What is the Mark of the Beast?
2. Who is the Antichrist and what is his name?
3. What will happen for believers after the Great Tribulation?
You’ll find the answers to these questions, and much more precious revelations of the end times in my book “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”.
You can’t afford to be ignorant about the truths in this book because it concerns your eternal rewards!

Deep Things of God versus Deep Things of Satan
“But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:10 WEB)
“But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don’t have this teaching, who don’t know what some call ‘the deep things of Satan,’ to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you.” (Revelation 2:24 WEB)
There are deep things of God and there are deep things of Satan. These two are polar opposites.
The deeper you go into each one, you access more exclusive benefits and consequences that people don’t usually receive.
The deep things of Satan usually appeal to the flesh—meaning fast and tangible benefits to attract the initiate into going deeper.
This means that material wealth, lustful pleasures, power, influence and supernatural abilities for manipulation and destruction are some of the benefits. These things appeal to the flesh, to a person who is carnally minded.
On the other hand, the deep things of God are things of the spirit and requires faith to access.
The fullness of its benefits cannot be experienced in this lifetime, but only in the Millennium and beyond, whereby the believer receives positions of honor.
Pursuing the deep things of God allows one to access the miraculous power of God through the Holy Spirit.
Maturing in the deep things of God leads to life and life more abundantly, but maturing in the deep things of Satan leads to sin bearing the fruit of death.
Will you trade your soul for temporary pleasures of sin, or place your faith in Jesus to have eternal life?
If you are already a born-again believer, you’re already saved and can never lose your salvation.
However there will still be a difference in eternal rewards between Christians.
There’s no such thing as a standardized ‘rewards package’ that every believer will receive.
The apostles Paul and Peter compared the Christian life to a race. Will you stroll along in the race and be content just to finish, or will you run like a well-trained competitive athlete to win a top prize?
Pursue the deep things of God and you’ll receive amazing eternal rewards that will last forever!

The religious leaders of Israel did not enter by the door (Jesus) meaning they didn’t get saved through faith, but they practiced and taught justification by obedience to their man-made doctrines.
In this context, the shepherd who enters by the door refers to Jesus, but true pastors (shepherds) also enter by the door (Jesus) — they are saved by Grace through faith in Jesus, and they teach that to their congregations as well.
The gatekeeper (or doorkeeper) is the Law.
The only way to appease and fulfill the requirements of the Law is to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior — Jesus fulfilled the Law on our behalf.
Then the door will open to you and you will enter into eternal life.
If you are a sheep (believer) then you will hear Jesus’ voice through the Holy Spirit that indwells you — not hearing it audibly through your ears, but speaking from within your heart.
The shepherd (Jesus) goes out before the sheep — Jesus will prepare your way and lead you in the direction you should go.
“A stranger” refers to any false preacher or teacher, including the religious leaders of Israel who taught false man-made doctrines.
If you’re a believer with the Holy Spirit inside you, you will be able to discern true teaching from false teaching based on the peace or absence of peace in your heart when you hear it.
The sheep didn’t listen to the thieves and robbers who came before Jesus — the people of Israel were disinterested in the things taught by the religious leaders of Israel because they could perhaps sense that it wasn’t true.
The moment you enter by the door (Jesus) by faith, you are saved and have eternal life.
You can come in and go out freely — you have more freedom and access than unbelievers — the Christian life is not small and restricted.
Unbelievers can’t access the sheepfold beyond the door. You can!
The devil is definitely a thief who kills, steals and destroys, but the passage above is not talking about the devil — in this context, the “thief” refers to the religious leaders of Israel.
They killed the people by stealing the true meaning of the Scriptures from them, destroying their lives.
On the other hand, Jesus came to give eternal life to anyone who believes in Him. Not just to let believers barely survive, but to enjoy abundant life — all the benefits of eternal life and the gift of righteousness.
