IO Interactive ได้เปิดตัวข้อมูลเกมออกมาเพิ่มเติม ซึ่ง Travis Barbour ชี้ให้เห็นข้อมูลของเกมเพิ่มเติมว่า ตัวเกมในภาคนี้จะมีความซีเรียส และดาร์คมากกว่าที่สองภาคแรกทำออกมา

และนั่นเป็นสาเหตุที่ภาพโปรโมทเกมนี้เน้นไปที่โทนสีเข้ม ทั้ง Agent 47 ที่อยู่ในฉากมืด ๆ และตัวหนังสือสีแดง
