Việt Nam có hơn năm mươi dân tộc anh em, mỗi tộc người với thổ ngữ/ngôn ngữ, văn hoá và tập tục riêng biệt. Đa phần các nhóm dân tộc thường sinh sống ở khu vực đồi núi, cao nguyên với địa hình hiểm trở, dẫn đến các thói quen sinh hoạt, tập tục và ăn vận đặc thù với môi trường khí hậu, văn hoá ở đây.
Bộ sưu tập này lấy cảm hứng từ trang phục của người Thái trắng ở vùng Tây Bắc Việt Nam, và từ loài hoa ban nở vào mùa xuân, khoảng tháng Hai, tháng Ba. Loài hoa này cũng thường được dùng làm hình ảnh ẩn dụ trong thơ phú để nói về vẻ đẹp và nét duyên dáng của phụ nữ Thái và Tày.
Các tộc người Thái được tách biệt theo tên gọi như người Thái Đỏ, Thái Đen và Thái Trắng. Người Thái Trắng thường mặc trang phục tông sáng với màu chủ đạo là hồng và trắng. Cỏm (áo ngắn) nổi bật với phần cổ tim tôn dáng phần trên của người mặc.

Vietnam is a multi-ethnic country comprising over fifty ethnic groups, each with their own dialects and distinct cultures and traditions. Predominantly inhabiting the highland regions these groups are incredibly diverse, facing challenges such as geographic isolation, social exclusion and low levels of education and employment.
This collection was inspired by the ‘White Thái (Thái trắng) of North West Vietnam as well as the ‘Hoa Ban’ flowers that bloom in February and March, signalling the beginning of Spring. These flowers often appear in poems to symbolize the charm and beauty of Thái and Tày women.
The Thái minorities are usually categorised by colour including the Red, Black and White. The White Thái usually wear bright coloured costumes in pinks and white. Their blouses are distinguished by a heart-shaped collar to emphasise the wearer’s neck.
