州長Ron DeSantis在簽署行政命令前說：
「政府或私營機構要求你出示疫苗證明才能參與正常社會，這是完全不可接受的。」
州長新聞秘書Christian Pushaw：
「佛州人有權享有醫療私隱。個人疫苗接種記錄是私人健康信息，不應規定共享。允許企業和教育機構將疫苗護照列為出入或服務的條件會造成一個分級社會，這是不公平的。接種 COVID 疫苗的決定應該取決於個人，他們有權為自己和家人做出正確的選擇。政府的作用是提供有關疫苗安全性和有效性的信息，並確保所有符合條件的居民可以獲得疫苗。州長憑經驗證據做出決定，維護法治，並保護所有佛州人的個人權利。保護個人權利免受政府或企業不合理的過度擴張，為國家行政權力的合法使用。」
