Step Into a Prepared Year
“Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.” (Psalms 139:16 WEB)
The thought of stepping into a new year can be scary. What lies ahead in the unknown future?
People have been posting on social media that the new year is like a blank canvas or a blank book, that it is up to you to fill in the empty spaces.
However, God’s word says that all the days ordained for your life have been written in God’s book.
Isn’t it comforting to know that God has seen your future and prepared the way for you? He has seen all the pitfalls set up by the enemy, and has provided the solutions ahead of time.
In the story of Ruth, we see a beautiful picture of the way Jesus prepares our provision in ways that we do not know:
“When she had risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and don’t reproach her. Also pull out some for her from the bundles, and leave it. Let her glean, and don’t rebuke her.” So she gleaned in the field until evening; and she beat out that which she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley.” (Ruth 2:15-17 WEB)
Boaz represents our Lord Jesus, and the young men working for him represent the angels. While Ruth was resting, the young men were preparing the barley for Ruth to glean easily.
“You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance.” (Psalms 65:11 WEB)
This year, be conscious that our loving God has already prepared the way for you. You are stepping into a prepared year, with ‘easy-to-glean’ blessings.
You can even imagine Abba God saying to the angels, “Prepare the year for My child. Put My choicest bounties and abundant gifts in the paths ahead.”
““In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.” (John 16:23-24 WEB)
Seeing your joy pleases God. Remember to boldly ask from Abba God this year. He wants you to overflow with joy.
There is no need to worry at all about the new year because God has written all your days in His book—trust the Author who is for you and not against you!
