{IG Giveaway} Happy National Day weekend!
"Remember the days, we set out together with faith?" As we celebrate our country turning a year older, it is a time for us to look back and be thankful for how far we've come. We like to talk to the kids about our history, share with them on the struggles, remind them of our pioneers' efforts in building up our nation in the hope that they will not take things for granted, cherish every bit of what we've been given and in turn do what they can in their capacity to contribute.
Over the years, we've shared good reads with you and since this is a special occasion, I'm sharing about this book that the girls have been reading. It's a simple, illustrated book about the life of our founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew - he has my utmost respect since young and I think my kids ought to know more of him too. Through the easy-to-read and engaging comic style, kids can learn more interesting facts about his growing up years and how he eventually helped to build and shape our nation.
Even my 6-year-old, who is very much into comics nowadays, can read and comprehend the contents on her own too. Still, I would strongly recommend that you read this to your child because it can open up so many interesting, educational topics about our country's past and makes a good opportunity to educate and have heartfelt conversations with the kids too.
It's one of our favourites to read this weekend as we wave our Singapore flag and sing to our anthem with pride. To share the ❤, we're giving away a copy to one of you too.
