1) Appropriate（適切な）
=================================
Appropriateは「適切な」や「ふさわしい」を意味する単語です。フォーマルな場にふさわしい格好をしたり、自分のレベルに合った英語の本を読んだり、適度な運動をするなど、様々な状況で使うことができます。
＜例文＞
Do you think this outfit is appropriate for the event tonight?
（今晩のイベントにこの服装はふさわしいと思う？）
Is it appropriate to use that expression in a formal situation?
（フォーマルな場でその表現を使うのは適切ですか？）
This English book is appropriate for beginner level students.
（この英語の本は初級者に適したレベルです。）

2) Sort of person（〜のような人）
=================================
Sort of personは「〜のような人」や「〜タイプの人」という意味の表現で、人の性格や性質を表す際に使われます。例えば、「彼はのんびりした人だ」は、「He is a laid-back sort of person.」のように表現します。
✔また、sort of personはkind of personと表現することもできます。
＜例文＞
What sort of person is he?
（彼はどんなタイプの人ですか？）
She’s the sort of person who likes to stay busy.
（彼女は常に忙しくしているのが好きなタイプです。）
He showed up in an orange suit? He’s the sort of person who would do that.
（彼、オレンジ色のスーツで来たの？そういうことをするタイプだよね。）

3) On occasion（時々）
=================================
On occasionは「時々」という意味の表現で、50％くらいの頻度を指して使われます。Sometimesとほぼ同じですが、on occasionの方が、若干頻度が低いニュアンスがあります。
＜例文＞
I’m not much of a drinker. I just drink on occasion.
（お酒はあまり飲みません。時々飲む程度です。）
Most times I eat out but I bring a packed lunch to work on occasion.
（普段は外食ですが、たまに職場にお弁当を持って行くこともあります。）
We work in the same building. I run into him on occasion.
（彼とは同じビルで働いているので、時々彼に遭遇します。）

4) More of a A than B（BというよりはA）
=================================
2つの物事を比較して、「BというよりはむしろAである」、「B以上にAだ」と言う場合、More of a A than Bと表現します。比較対象がなく、「私はどちらかというと〜だ」と言う場合には、I’m more of a/an ____だけでOKです。
＜例文＞
I’m more of a cat person than a dog person.
（私は犬よりも猫派です。）
I’d say I’m more of a visual learner.
（私はどちらかというと視覚的に物事を覚えるタイプです。）
I think he’s more of a TV personality than an actor.
（彼は俳優というよりテレビタレントだと思う。）

5) Side of the family（〜の親族）
=================================
「〜の親族・親戚」は、____ side of the familyと表現します。「母方の親族」はmother’s side of the family、「父方の親族」はfather’s side of the familyとなります。
＜例文＞
Do you get along with your mother’s side of the family?
（お母さん側の親戚とは仲よくしていますか？）
My dad’s side of the family is visiting this weekend.
（今週末、父方の親戚が遊びに来ます。）
Everyone on my side of the family is tall.
（私の親戚はみんな背が高いです。）
